I’ve done no running today, but I’ve been racing around all morning!
Simultaneously working on cleaning, laundry, packing up a dinner, blog stuff, bakery stuff. I can feel the adrenaline going!
At 11:30 I drove to Faith’s new studio for a little yoga. Somebody need to slooooow down and her shoulders were filled with tension.
Faith’s business is just getting going. You locals need to show up for her hours so she has some clients to lead!
I rolled around on my Yoga Tune Up ball while we waited to see if anyone would come to the 12pm Guerrilla Yoga class (a donation-based practice around Cville).
When no one did, we switched gears and did a video instead. Faith had a Baron Baptiste DVD so we chose that. I love Baptiste-style yoga, so I enjoyed it. But Baron was a bit on the cheeseball side in the DVD! I got a nice nice stretch, and my shoulders and chest feel much more open. Someone remind me to do a little yoga every day!!
Lunchtime at 1PM!
I had a salad with all the veggies left in the fridge – spinach, cuc, carrot & celery plus lemon juice, olive oil, honey, White Bean + Basil hummus and goat cheese
Plus an orange
And a melty cheese + jam English muffin. I froze the Bread Basket ones and they thaw out really well! SO convenient to have them handy! That would be pepperjack cheese! It worked!
Still packing up for the trip – I’m trying to be an organized traveler!! Car trips are so much easier than flights though. Until you get bored in the car. But much easier to pack.
BYE!
Holly @ Couch Potato Athlete says
I absolutely love your salad bowl!
At first I thought those were a bunch of green foam rollers in the corner, but I see how there are yoga mats. I was thinking “a foam rolling class? that is awesome!” 🙂
Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) says
I love that you went to yoga to de-stress and decompress a little!
And Baron being a little cheezeballish on his DVD…I have found that many DVDs are that way. I would NEVER say some of the things to my yoga students that they say on the DVDs..then again, I try to always keep it real. Finding the balance between blissed out yogi but also living in the real world with real world humor 🙂
Have fun on your trip…and good luck finishing packing!
Jen @ keepitsimplefoods.com says
I’ve never heard of Baptiste yoga, what is it? Lunch looks great! Love the colorful bowls!
Jen @ keepitsimplefoods.com says
I cannot stand cheesy yogis. Blech.
Baking 'n' Books says
LOL. Never heard of “cheesy yogis” before 🙂
Gina says
Baptiste Style is a Power Vinyasa style yoga. The practice combines both strengthening and lengthening to each muscle in the body. The poses are connected with breath (inhale/exhale) with flow-like (vinyasa) transitions to keep the heart rate up. I am in the process of getting teacher certified in Baptiste Power Yoga:)
melissa says
You should definitely post on organized packing! yummy lunch as always!
Kelly (meatlesswithaman.blogspot.com) says
I second that!
Amy at TheSceneFromMe says
I need to get packing for a trip myself. I agonize over my outfits and what shoes to wear so much that I need a few days to pack. I need to be cleaning out my fridge too of all the food that won’t keep while we are gone. I long to be somewhere warm and sunny. It’s cold and dreary here. Have a safe trip!
Heather @ Get Healthy With Heather says
I could definitely use some shoulder relaxation. They’ve felt too hunched all day.
Sounds like such a nice time. Glad you could find time for it before heading out on your trip.
Marisa @ Loser for Life says
Yoga is such a wonderful stress reliever!
Safe travels, Kath!
Katie @ Nourishing Flourishing says

Krissy - Shiawase Life says
I wish I could’ve gone! I miss the flexibility that I had when I wasn’t working…though a paycheck I suppose is more useful for our household 😉
Ashley @ Feeding Ashley says
I love your lunch! It looks so light fresh and delicious!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
I agree – with cars, you don’t have to worry about cramming everything into one suitcase because you’ve got a WHOLE CAR! Sounds like a fun yoga class. I’ve never tried a Baron Baptiste DVD but it sounds interesting!
Sarah says
Faith’s card is missing the “.com” for her website–so maybe she’s missing out on some of her interested customers!
faith says
Blasted typos! 🙁
Freya (Brit Chick Runs) says
Oh gosh, I need to do more yoga too…I feel SO much tension the few times I do do it, and then feel 100 x better after! Gah.
Enjoy packing 🙂
J3nn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) says
You’re so good at using up every little crumb that’s left in the fridge! I wish I had that much efficiency in me, lol.
Safe + fun travels to you! 🙂
Abby says
I second that! lol. I need to learn how to be more efficient with what I have on hand!
cathyb@brightbakes says
Wish i was in c-ville…I would definitely take Faith’s class! It’s really hard to find a yoga class/studio around here…too rural and not the “thing” people are into in this neck of the woods…
cathy b.
p.s.your jam english muffin had my mouth a-watering!!
Ellie@fitforthesoul says
I bet you’re becoming a crazy expert at traveling now. 😀 How long does it take you to pack usually? It’s def. one of those things that take me forever b/c I blank out and get distracted and unmotivated… 😛

I’m curious…do you actually eat outside or go in? I love to eat in front of my TV but that is a bad habit!
love the jam+cheese sammich combo!!
KathEats says
I go in! TV watching is definitely a GOOD habit of mine 🙂 I just say good because I enjoy it and I enjoy my food, so I don’t care what the experts say.

Ash @ Good Taste Healthy Me says
I love road trips but my fiance hates them. He gets bored and antsy, while I have no problem entertaining myself. Hello audio books!
Kelsey says
Wish I lived in C-ville – getting a personal yoga class (if no one else came, that is) taught by Faith would be awesome!
I also agree, I definitely would much rather prefer to drive – you can bring as much stuff as you want, AND no deadlines/rushing to get to the airport on time!
Charline says
You may want to let Faith know that the web address on that card is wrong. She is missing the .com
Stacey (The Home-Cooked Vegan) says
That’s funny because just yesterday my boyfriend was saying how much he prefers flying instead of driving! I’m the opposite, I like driving to places 🙂 Plus, I’m not a very good flyer. I’m the one that’s hyperventilating and has a death grip on the seat in front of her, hehe 😉
Glad you got to do some yoga! I have a Baron Baptiste video called “Long and Lean Power Yoga” it’s my go-to yoga dvd! He IS a bit of a cheeseball, but he gets the work done!
Susan (Oliepants) says
Have a fun and safe trip! Your salad just gave me inspiration for salad at home. And, I think it will include pesto!
Cindy says
Great lunch, as always. Have a great trip! Hopefully you won’t get too bored in the car!
Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg says
Ugh– our yoga teacher here in PA was cheeseballtastic…we finally stopped going. I hate that stuff! Just lead me through the poses!
Lisa (bakebikeblog) says
ahh yoga – how I miss thee!
Allison @ Happy Tales says
Ohh I can relate so much, I prefer a car over a plane ANY day! I like being in control… and once you enter those security gates it seems like you have ZERO control!
Oh, and I also need to incorporate a little bit of yoga each day! Good goal to set… yes yes.
Christine (The Raw Project) says
I’d come to the class if I lived near by. 🙂 Beautiful lunch, especially the dishes.
Kiran says
Great lunch on a busy day! Enjoy your road trip!

While we’re voting – I prefer car trips. I feel a whole lot less trapped in a car and I can entertain myself for hours on the road. Wishing you a good trip. Learn lots about running a GH.

It is always hectic getting packed up and ready to go on a trip, but always worth it in my opinion. I love taking trips!

Eek, I should also be preparing for my upcoming trip but I’m bad and I’ve chosen to sit on the couch a read blogs instead. I hope I don’t regret this decision.
