Good afternoon! I am obviously forgetful today when I planned to arrive at Cycle at 9:45 and realized it started at 9:15. Oops! I missed my friends! But I ended up doing 30 minutes on the Stairmaster instead. There was a time last year when I was so anti-gym equipment because I was Pumpkin Pumping and walking and biking and running but now that the temps are cold and I live a glorious 15 minute walk to the gym that takes me through charming downtown, I’m in the mood again! Especially now that holiday magazines are coming out 🙂
Home & showered, I heated up lunch
This included a fat and gooey piece of pizza – heated in the oven. Plus grapes!!
And for the green, a big salad with eggplant, goat feta and chickpeas! Dressed in olive oil and lavender salt. My plans were to make homemade lavender salt when I ran out, but here it is a year past my last trip to San Francisco and I’m a few days away from going out – might just have to stop by the Ferry Building and buy more! Perhaps also rosemary this time!
Is this week flying by or what!?
Sara @my less serious life says
yum yum yum! i am completely obsessed with eggplant right now. roasted eggplant on top of a fresh salad or lightly steamed greens is just lovely. i see this in my future…dinner, perhaps?
Cat @Breakfast to Bed says
I love smoked maldon salt. Have you tried it? It’s so good and lightly smoky. GREAT on a salad. So unexpected!
KathEats says
I have not, no
Caitlin says
AWESOME lunch! That salad has so many nutritious and tasty components. And that pizza – oh man. I usually love thin crust but that thick pizza looks satisfying on a chilly day.
Hillary says
Oh, that pizza is KILLING me. I have some dough in my freezer that I might need to break out to satisfy my new craving.
Khushboo says
Leftover pizza always tastes best…the flavors have a chance to properly mingle!
Jessica / Green Skies and Sugar Trips says
Sounds delicious! I JUST had Spanikopita!! I LOVE Feta!!! I also had cauliflower and fingerling hash topped with pulled pork, so not a healthy lunch 😉
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
Have you tried reheating pizza in a skillet? I read about it on a blog and its even better than in the oven (and of course better than the microwave)!
KathEats says
Yup, love that way too. I meant to say toaster oven which meant one less pan to wash 🙂
Angie @ Musings of a Violet Monkey says
Reheating it in a skillet sounds like a great idea! I hate to turn the oven on if I don’t have to. Thanks for the tip!

Saw this recipe and thought of KERF. The recipe comes from a local lady whose pumpkin butter I’m devouring right now. It looked right up your alley! http://sunchowdersemporia.com/2011/10/biscoff-brown-butter-pumpkin-bars/
KathEats says
WOW those look gooey!!

pizza left overs are the best! And I’m obsessed with grapes right now, they have them pretty cheap at trader joe’s!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I want your lunch!!! Right now!! 🙂
Pizza is so good. Any time of day!
Joanne says
As the holidays approach, it seems the days keep flying by faster and faster.
I absolutely LOVE pizza but have to be in the right mood for left overs. I’m not a left over
person. I’m so “fresh” 😉
Johanna B says
I have been without an oven for two years. That dry spell ends today. I can’t wait to roast me up a bunch of veggies – starting with a gorgeous acorn squash I got from the farmer’s market on Saturday.
Cait's Plate says
I could stand for it to fly a little faster! 🙂
And I hear ya – I read Real Simple’s November issue this morning with breakfast. It makes me so excited for the holidays!!
That pizza looks just incredible. I love how doughy the crust is!
Hope @ With A Side Of Hope says
I wish this week would go by even quicker! It is going by quick though. That pizza looks really tasty! Your making me want to have pizza for dinner! Yum 🙂
Zoe @ loseweightandgainhealth says
I WANT PIZZA!!! That looked as good as the original. Lavendar salt sounds intriguing. Is it salt with the lavender flower in it?
Kiran @ KiranTarun.com says
I was hoping to meet you at SFO this week, unfortunately my plans are cancelled due to personal reasons – nonetheless, have fun 🙂
KathEats says
Oh on 🙁 Hope everything is ok
Kiran @ KiranTarun.com says
Thanks. Everything is fine. We might be moving. The Hubby lost his job and now we are in the midst of transitioning. Hoping for the best 🙂
KathEats says
Sorry to hear that 🙁

The Ferry Building is one of the things I miss most about living in SF. Foodie paradise!
Make sure to get a cup of Blue Bottle coffee while you’re there. Nothing like it. 🙂

Oh, I love leftover pizza – it is one of my favorite lunches and yours looked nice and cheesy – Yum!
You will be in SF for the Foodbuzz event? So will I:-)

Yum!! I go through phases with gym equipment too. I feel like this week is taking forever!!
Lindsay @ bikingbeforebed says
Do you have a go to method for preparing eggplant? Its one of those veggies I always order out but am intimadated to make myself.
KathEats says
We usually just saute it in a pan with olive oil. I don’t even bother to salt it
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
The pizza looks so gooey but the grapes, ahh, perfect big crunchy grapes are one of nature’s little treats 🙂
Yes, the week is whizzing by!
erica says
now i’m craving pizza!!!
Irina says
so weird, without checking the blog out I also had pancakes for breakfast and then pizza for dinner, and only just saw you did too 😀 That pizza looks lovely and I am jealous of the green salad, I’ve run out of all the greens today, not good, it is only mid-week.
Liz @ Tip Top Shape says
That salad looks delicious!! Makes me want to go out and buy some eggplant!
PR_Cal says
Oh I would love if you did homemade rosemary salt and posted a tutorial. I only grow one herb at home currently and it’s rosemary!

I enjoy reading your blog and enjoyed the pictures of your new screened in porch going up. I would love one at my house. A while back you posted when Matt got his new Samsung Infuse 4G phone. Sunday, Oct. 30, I launched on App for the droid that I have developed. The game is called, They Are Dead. The object of the game is to be the first to know of important, recent deaths. As soon as you discover someone notable has died, you post it on the network. The sooner you broadcast the death, the more points you receive. The game tracks your ability to be the first to know and notify the network about a recent, distinguished death. The App is $0.99. Check it out.

That looks a lot like my lunch! Something about pizza and salad in the middle of the day always seems fantastic 🙂
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
I was at the Ferry Building for the first time two weeks ago and I LOVED it! It was like heaven.. for foodies. 🙂 I got the most amazing carrot-ginger-apple juice ever and now part of me thinks that buying a juicer is a necessity. My wallet however, does not!

totally random, but i saw a cat today during my run that looked exactly like your el tigre 2. not sure what neighborhood you guys moved to, but it was a street off of park street. anywho, thought i’d share!
KathEats says
Park St. would be a little far for him…but I was just biking on Park !
Alexa @ Simple Eats says
Pizza and salad is a meal I could probably live off of for a longgg time. Nothing is better than leftover pizza!…except maybe with a beer!
Molly @ RDexposed says
Looks like I’m not the only one with beer on my mind in the early afternoon!
Lindsay says
I’m big on reading whilst at the gym, but I also adore downloading workout shows, like Biggest Loser and going to town!! THey’re working hard, I’m working hard…its win win
Jen says
How do you watch the shows you download at the gym?
Kath – Jealous of your proximity! I don’t even have a gym near me. The most affordable one is across town which is horrific in traffic.
And – I vote this as your best lunch yet! Yum 🙂
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
I was just talking to my roommate 5 minutes ago about how I’m craving homemade pizza! I think this is a sign that I need to make some asap!

I bought some great spices in the Ferry Building back in March (don’t remember at which store) as a souvenir for my roommate, and you know what, my roommate STILL has not opened it… is that rude or what?! I think I might just use them myself if she isn’t 🙁
Ashley @ Coffee Cake and Cardio says
mmm, awesome pizza! Is it sad that it’s 9AM and I’d love a slice of that?
Jon Davis says
I am not sure I have had goat feta. That sounds amazing.
