The most beautiful fall day (Our street):
Went for a 4.2 mile run and beat my record! Did it today in 35:15, which is at least a full minute more than my record – maybe two!! Run was great – nice and hard. My legs are tired!! About 375 calories burned.
Breakfast was just a smoothie made with:
- 1/2 c frozen blueberries
- 1/2 c frozen blackberries
- 1 small banana
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 oz milk
- 1 tbsp flax
- topped with a tsp of pomegranate seeds for garnish!!
- And don’t forget the straw

It’s 11:00 already so I didn’t want to eat too much. Plus I’m not particularly hungry. We’re headed up to Davidson for Homecoming today. My sister is hosting a brunch (with delicious -yet dangerous – brunch foods). I’m probably going to to have a few bites of things there, a salad at the student union around 1pm, and then 5-10 oysters at the fraternity Oyster Roast. Not sure about the alcohol, but I’m going to try to have a cup of water in my hand so at least I’m “drinking” something.
I’m also not sure about dinner. If they decide to order pizza, I’ll probably head back here and have a salad. If they go out, I’ll go out and that could be dangerous!
I’m pretty sure I’ve gained a few pounds, although I’m not really sure when or how, but I don’t feel as slim as I did. So I really can’t let today get too wild!
Be back tonight 🙂

Great job on the run today! Where do you get pomegranate seeds? I don't think I've ever seen them in the grocery store. How are the nutrition facts? Have fun at homecoming!

Elle – The pomegrante seeds come right from the fruit. They're really called "arils" and they're like little grassy pockets filled with a juice. EXCELLENT on salads and of course a SuperFood. To remove them from the fruit, you should cut the fruit in half and submerge in it a bowl of water. The seeds are all embedded in this rough meat interior stuff and should come out easily under the water. Then just drain them and store in a tupperware until you need them! Check'em out on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomegranate
