I stayed up late last night playing. I found a way to sync GCal and have determined that Google Tasks rock (well, not quite rock, but I’m pleased).
I got really hungry around 11 (stayed up till midnight) and had a small bowl of AgavePlus granola and Special K mixed with soymilk
Today’s breakfast needed to be lighter since I have to go running by 10:30 to get in a noontime meeting. So I made a smoothie –
- 1/3 cup raw rolled oats
- 2/3 cup soy milk
- 1 small banana
- 2 tbsp PB2
- ~8 ice cubes
The PB2 was totally awesome with PB flavor!
I continued the PB theme with a small piece of Flax Oat Bran with some Naturally More

Sadly, it looks like our furry animals have passed away. They look like they are taking naps, but I’m pretty sure they are permanently sleeping 🙁 I don’t think they were mice – my parents have mice in their old house and these guys looked different. I’ll have to have Matt bury them this afternoon.
Kelsey is coming for lunch!!

I am so wanting one of those IPhones – you will have to let me know if its worth all the $$$. Looks like an awesome start to the day – PB smoothies are the best!

=( Sorry to hear about the little buddies. At least they probobly went peacefully – here at my house they would have been ambushed by cats!
Smoothie looks awesome! I need to try out PB2 as well, although I highly doubt anything could top good ole’ fresh ground peanut butter. I’m actually enjoying a smoothie right now myself.
Combo: 2 oz. strawberries, 1 oz. bluberries, 1 oz. sliced RIPE banana, 1/4 cup Naked Juice Red Machine juice, 2 tsp creamy almond butter, 2 tbsp plain yogurt, 1/2 cup of unsalted cottage cheese, and a few cups of ice. Mmm…
Courtney (The Hungry Yogini) says
Oooh I need to get some PB2 for smoothies! Such a brilliant idea!
Aww how sad about our furry friends. May the rest in peace =)
Matt (NoMeatAthlete) says
iPhone looks sharp! My smoothies have gotten so much better since I started reading blogs like this, and you just gave me a new idea… rolled oats! Do you just put them in whole?
I love getting more and more whole-food ingredients to start every single day!

i’m pretty sure those were baby squirrels 🙁
that smoothie sounds great. i must get my hands on some PB2!
Colleen says
I’m with Ellen, those don’t look like mice at all. And how rude of people to tell you that it was gross and your house was probably infested! That’s awful.
Megan (The Runner's Kitchen) says
I had a VERY peanut butter-centric dinner last night – 2% fage mixed with Tbs PB2, 1/2 cup frozen berries, Nature’s Path peanut butter granola, and then a big scoop of regular peanut butter. Yum!
Enjoy your run 🙂

They looked like possums to me. At least your snake didn’t get them.

Your furry friends look like Voles to me. Kind of a mixture between a mouse and a mole, and they burrow in your lawn. You should google them. If you look closely at your lawn do you see any little holes and trail systems between them?

i keep forgetting to try oats in my smoothie – thanks for the reminder!

mmm peanut butter smoothies!

Great phone! 🙁 that is to bad about the furry like guys. Going to have to try that smoothie it sounds delish!

I’m loving all your ways of using PB2. I’ve had a few jars for a while now and it’s taking me forever to get through them. That smoothie sounds amazing!
Leah says
I think it is so interesting that you put oats in your smoothies! Does it thicken the smoothie, or add to the texture, or do they just disappear?
Shannon (The Daily Balance) says
love all the PB goodness this morning! 😉
Sarah (lovINmytummy) says
Ew, the only thing yuckier than live critters is dead critters!
I think we will see a lot of convenience meals while you play with your iPhone!!! 😉
Jennifer says
I like the oats in your smoothie idea too. Does it keep you full longer? B/c when I see these other smoothies people make with just fruit, yogurt and maybe milk, I don’t know how the heck they are not hungry in like, an hour.
Colleen says
Mindy, I’m probably the least-prissy person I know. I would have been the one to take those babies in the house and nurse them back to health…no matter what kind of animal they were. I just think it’s rude of people to say things like “Oh my God Kath, that’s totally gross, they’re probably all in the walls of your house.” Good grief. They were in her garage and last time I checked all garages open to the outdoors.
Christina MINDFUL LIVING says
yummm that smoothie looks delish! my mouth is watering!!!
Kailey (SnackFace) says
Every day I find a new reason to buy PB2. That smoothie sounds incredible! Oh, and I’m loving the Naturally More toast to go with it (hmm, I have a jar sitting next to me right now). Aww poor little babies! May they be in a happier place.

Wow, your breakfast looks great! I still haven’t tried oats in a smoothie…I am curious as to how it will taste. 🙂

Everyone I know who owns an iPhone absolutely loves it.
I’m so amazed that this one gadget alone can be so universally appealing to so many.
Yet, I’m still holding back. I’ll probably one day end up with my husband’s hand me down internet phones (he has a Google phone and iPhone), but for now, I’m happy in my own sheltered low-tech world.
Jenn )) j3nn.net (( says
PB2 works great in smoothies. They changed their recipe, it used to be WAY more like gritty, like natural PB. Now it’s smooth and weird.
Aww, those poor babies 🙁 RIP

Hi Kath, I have just ordered PB2 and I am not sure exactly how to use it. When you put it in your smoothie, do you put it in as a powder or mix it with water and then add it. Thanks! Elizabeth
Meredith (Pursuing Balance) says
So sad about the little furry cuties!!!
Heather says
LOVING the all the pb this morning! I’m going to have to try out this smoothie with my PB2 for myself! 🙂 Smoothies are perfect for a before-running breakfast.
I love how you cut up your toast! It makes it so much more fun to eat. 😉
Kath says
Re. Oats in Smoothies,
I just put in raw old fashioned oats whole. They don’t thicken it that much, but they do impart a nice doughy taste, especially if you let it sit overnight.
Casey ,
I would use RTM, but I HATE the colors!!!
Jennifer ,
The oats def. help keep me full. I like to bulk up smoothies so they are thick and/or huge. I agree on just fruit and milk not being enough for me.
elizabeth ,
Just dump that powder whereever you feel like it!!
