As predicted, I got hungry around 4pm today instead of 5 and made a crunch plate:
Apple, carrot, melba toast and chocolate vanilla almond butter –
At 5 we went to pick up my sick bike and deliver some bread to Kelsey at work before we headed to Nolan Kitchen for their Patio Party = free apps – and free beer!!! A pleasant surprise! We met our friends Annie and Amanda and Justin.
The new Boone Brewing Company sponsored the night and was sampling their new summer ale, a wheat beer.
LOVED IT!!!
There were a few others poured by the excited Matt. I tried the pale ale too. It was really good, but not my style.
I held off on the food until I started to get hungry in the 6:00 hour. We discovered a generous fajita bar! I made a fajita with black beans, rice, a bit of chicken, and lettuce. They also had blue chips (which I tried to eat sparingly) and these deeee-licious sugared fried chips too.
I had a second (free!!) beer, but only had half, as I started to feel it a little too much.
And went back for the condiments and more beans when they were replenished.
We had actually already made dinner at home (in anticipation of coming home hungry) and put it in the freezer to have next week!
Kelsey gave me two of her homemade OATMEAL + WHITE CHOCOLATE + AMARETTO CHERRY COOKIES, so I had one while we watched Flash Of Genius. SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOODDDD!!! Fall-apart gooey and so flavorful.

I LOVE the sweet dude in the Nolan Kitchen picture with what appears to be a captain’s hat on (on the left, sitting at a table). I would like to be that guy.
Question: this may seem silly, but for the summit: will gluten-free food be available? My Boston blogger friends and I tend toward the celiac side. 🙂
Kath says
VeggieGirl ,
I think they are unveiling soon!
Christy ,
I love them equally!!! I usually choose wine because I sip it more slowly and it’s more elegant though 🙂
Sarah (LovIN My Tummy)
LOL!
Sally ,
I am not sure yet, but we will likely be able to accommodate.
