I’m blogging from the HLS check-in table. Gotta fit it in somehow!!
Heather and I went to Philly Power Yoga this AM – rockin’ class!! Oh how I miss hot yoga 🙁
The studio was great, the instructor, Troy, was great and of course the yoga was great!!
We walked a mile and back to yoga and I’m SO glad I brought a dry set of clothes for the walk!
I bypassed the hotel and headed for Reading Market for some nourishment.
Very cool place!!! So much to see
I loved this linen shop!
I got a carrot, cucumber, and ginger juice. It was frothy and delicious. My juice at home never tastes as good
After a nice hot shower, I met a HUGE group of ladies for a promenade to lunch. We were like a parade of internet crazies!
The original lunch spot was too small to house all (50?) of us so a handful broke off and continued walking looking for lunch. We were starving!!
But serendipity happened when we stumbled upon the Pumpkin Market!!
15 of us crashed the tiny shop, but the owner was very excited to be hosting food bloggers and they did a great job accommodating us.
For lunch I had a Hummus + Turkey Sandwich with sprouts + avocado on sourdough.
‘Twas quite good!
On the side – a homemade pickle (!!) which I happily crunched and a pasta salad that I wasn’t that into.
Seltzer!
For dessert, we passed around some Biscoff that Lauren brought all the way from San Francisco for me!!
Best cookies ever : )
Fun fun lunch!!
I hot tailed it back to the hotel to make a 3:30 conference call, and now I’m doing duty at the check-in table. Swag bags, name tags and more!
Time to play!!

Omg I LOVE Biscoffs!!! I fly Delta just for that reason if the price is anywhere near comparable. Kidding! (kind of)
But they now sell them in select stores. It’s heaven on earth. As well as the Biscoff SPREAD. So good.
Glad you and all your nearest and dearest (50!!) friends figured out lunch arrangements. Nothing like traveling in a small, inconspicuous & easy to manage group, eh?
Yoga…always great!
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
I love that restaurant just based on its name alone! And they sure look like they know how to make a good sandwich – it’s packed full of good stuff!

I have been dying to try hot yoga but for some reason am crazy intimidated! Do you have any tips for first-timers? Sorry if I missed a post you may have done on this already!
KathEats says
I can’t remember if I have, but I don’t think so. I think Daily Garnish has! I’m sorry – no time tonight!
Baking N Books says
No need to be intimidated – it’s the same as yoga, just in a hot room 😉 Let the instructor know it’s your first time, take your time and go into child’s pose if not feeling well. Unless your not a fan of the heat, you’ll be fine.
Kelsey says
so i (new yorker) always say “high tailed it” but i thought, oh it must be a southern thing. um, have you ever googled hot tailed?!
KathEats says
Hahah – oops!!! Maybe it is high!?
Kelsey says
haha maybe. but i rather enjoy the hot tailed. it’s kinda saucy haha.
Denine - The Bicycle Chef says
Kathy, I cannot believe you are in (or were as the case may be) Philly – I live here and all the places you mentioned and photographed are either in my area or where I go or where I worked! And to top it off, I’m not in Philly right now, as I’m on vacation traveling around parts of North Eastern PA, NJ & NY! The Reading Terminal is a true Philadelphia treasure – I worked for several places there as a chef! Questions for you – what blog conference are you attending? How can I get involved in one of these and how long are you/were you in Philadelphia? I’ve been food blogging for 4 years now and have only recently started networking and branching out, but I feel like there’s so much more to learn and do. Between your gorgeous photos, your recipes and your work I don’t know how you find time to keep up and travel too! Hope you enjoyed Philadelphia and that my town was good to you! If you are ever here again, I’d love to share some Philly tips w/you and your readers.
KathEats says
I’m at the Healthylivingsummit.com conference, one I founded!
Glad you’re enjoying the posts!
Hannah says
I’ve always hated snow pea sprouts in sandwiches because I can never chew them off cleanly, but that’s no matter when you’re amongst friends 🙂
Khushboo says
That sandwich needs to get in mah belly asap- SO yuM!
Kathleen says
Born and raised in Belgium, we grow up with Lotus “speculoos”… If you are out, let me know!
Strangely, I’m not that fond of Speculoos, not even the ones covered in chocolate…
Kerry says
Kath, did you know that there is a spreadable form of those Biscoff cookies? I live in France and unfortunately cannot find your yummy looking butter spreads– sunflower, coconut, Barney… but we do have a spreadable Biscoff! Oh and Biscoff icecream, chocolates, and cheesecakes!
Kerry says
And as Kathleen above mentions its called Speculoos here
Monica says
Darn, I was hoping that the Pumpkin Market offered pumpkin filled everything! 🙂
Jennifer says
Glad you were able to check out the Reading Market. It is a really cool place with so many different things to see.
