I’m having a wonderful sleepy, rainy Sunday with Sabrina!!
After checking out of my hotel, I wasn’t really sure what to do with myself and my giant suitcase. But luckily Sabrina was nice enough to let us chill out at her place. It’s nice to relax a little after such a whirlwind of a weekend.
We spent an hour chatting on her couch before we walked to lunch at this fabulous little sandwich cafe called Rybread!
It was the PERFECT lunch spot! Salads, sandwiches, good drinks + desserts and funky colors.
I had a house salad with blue cheese, walnuts, cranberries and apples
And I got the most delicious portabella and eggplant panini with pesto and mozzarella
Incredibleness!
Sabrina’s grilled cheese!
Minty tea to sip
And when we returned home, a cup of fruit for dessert
My flight tonight doesn’t leave until 9:30, so I’ve got more chilling to do before I head back to Virginia.
See ya friends!

It is isn’t it? Portobellas…that’s mushrooms 🙂
A night flight? Wow – that makes for a long day!
Jillian says
*Portobello*, actually!
I think it’s cute how many people refer to them as “portobellas” 😉
Baking N Books says
! Oh my gosh – I think I actually have always thought it was “bellas” – 😉 – a feminine twist? Thanks for sparing me from future embarrassment 🙂
Kath says
I thought it was either? I say portobellO but spell check always makes me change it to A!
Jillian says
I like the feminine twist, personally 🙂
Chloe (In Fine Feather) says

I’ve got to try a mushroom burger/panini whatever. I see them everywhere but haven’t had one yet!!
Shaya says
Do you derive inspiration for the sandwiches you offer at Great Harvest from your taste experiences at other places? Slash how do you decide what goes on your menu? I’ve noticed that the sandwiches you talk about serving are different than the ones offered at MY local Great Harvest (I’ve been eying that curry tuna sandwich foreva).
KathEats says
We just put sandwiches we like on our menu! And do think about our market, diets, and more.
Baking N Books says
If people requested a certain sandwich, would you consider adding those to your menu – even if wasn’t something you guys particularly liked?
Jessica @ Jess Go Bananas says
paninis look awesome! You both look fabulous! 🙂
Katherina @ Zephyr Runs says
Ah, Sabrina is glowing 🙂 Nice to see so many bloggers together, I hope I can go to HLS next year!!!

katie @KatieDid says
You’ve been making me sandwich envy all weekend… grrr gluten free bread just isn’t the same 🙁 But it looks like a cute place! Have a safe trip back!
Christine says
Have you tried Udi’s millet-chia bread? It has about 5g fiber & 5g protein for two slices and has seeds and some chew to it. My favorite GF bread by far. . . my whole foods just started carrying it last month.
katie @KatieDid says
Thanks for the recommendation, I have only had the white Udi’s, never the millet-chia kind but it sounds really great. I’ve grown to live without bread for the most part because of taste/price but will definitely be keeping my eye out for this.
Maria @ Beautiful Busy Bee says
An eggplant panini is seriously the combination of two of my most favorite foods. 🙂 I love your sunglasses, so chic!! 🙂 Have a safe trip home girlie.
Laura (Blogging Over Thyme) says
Hmm..eggplant is my fave. That sandwich is making me hungry. Cafes are some of my favorite spots to hit up in a new city. They are always so quaint and cozy and you get a real feel for the place.

lynn @ the actor's diet says
yum! i’ll look out for that place next time i’m in philly.
Ashlyn says
Awesome HLS recap posts, Kath!
I have a question! Did Meghann really plan the WHOLE thing or did you all help too? It seems like she took a lot of the credit, but I wasn’t sure if it was a joint process?
Also, this might be too personal, but is there commission for you all for having the event? I’ve always been curious about that!
Looks like a fun time!
KathEats says
Meghann planned it all and is the only one getting compensated for her time. The rest of us got free tickets and travel as tribute to our foundership. We decided it was easier for one person to plan it, and most of us were too busy to want to take on planning another year.
Kristen, Sweetly says
what a bummer of a flight! i hope you enjoyed your time at hls. safe travels home.
Kait @ One Love Run says
looks like quite a yummy lunch! might have to stop by there when I am in town next week. And I will def be stopping by Great Harvest in Wayne – I always used to stop in there for free bread samples when I went to school right down the street!
