Remember when he first smiled? First laughed? First crawled? First walked? First talked?
The firsts are continuing. This morning I went to wake Mazen up. I laid out his clothes and went to make pancakes for breakfast (his request from the night before!)
He stumbled into the kitchen in his jammies, gave me a hug, and then ran back to his room. I heard him go to the bathroom, and wash his hands all by himself.
Then five minutes later he came out all dressed in his outfit for the day. He had even put his jammies in the dirty clothes hamper himself.
Won’t be long till the bed is made too! (Kidding…. that will never happen, I am sure).
We had pancakes and fruit together for breakfast –
Mid-morning I went to get my stitches out from my mole removal.
I have good news and bad news from the pathology report. The good news is there wasn’t skin cancer present. But the bad news is there was “moderate to severe cytologic atypia” aka abnormal cells. Enough that they want to go back in an take more of the edges!! Ugh – I have to do this all again next week with more stitches. Another time of year and it wouldn’t be a huge deal, but it’s been quite annoying to have a big cut and flopping bandaid on my leg in the midst of swimming and shorts season. I am thankful the diagnosis wasn’t worse though, and hoping this second procedure is the end of it. Wear sunscreen friends!
Lunch was a No Bull Burger with avocado and cheese on a Virginia roll from Great Harvest.
Hoping to play pick-up soccer this evening!

I’m so sorry you have to undergo another round of getting tested! I had a mole removed a few years ago, and I know I need to go back for my annual skin exam. It’s part of preventative care, but I don’t look forward to it. 🙁 Best wishes on all negative results!

ugh! i had a mole removed from my back last week. they did a biopsy first a few weeks ago and found severely atypical cells so when i had it removed they took A LOT of skin off. luckily i heard yesterday that all the atypical cells were removed so no more cutting for me, but good luck to you. the giant waterproof bandage i have is a pain.
like the redesign BTW!

Our 3 year-old finally is helping his big sister clean up his toys at the end of the day 🙂
Glad to hear that you are okay, Kath!

just curious…now that you’ve sold the bakery are you conning to buy bread and rolls (like above ) there or do you haste a stash in the freezer!?
Good luck with the second procedure next week

I’m going in for bread! Although not as frequently.

I know you wear sunscreen Kath, but covering up is the only way to avoid sun damage.
It pains me to see you playing soccer with your hair scraped back off your face.
Mazey needs to be covered as well.

You are right but I can’t play soccer with a hat or in the shade. I always choose to sit in the shade of umbrellas at the beach or pool and M wears UV shirts to swim in.

The interesting thing about sunscreen, though, is that I have read a few articles talking about how when the sunscreen washes off in the water, it is potentially harmful to aquatic life. You just simply cannot win!! But I agree with you!! Wear it.
Also a recent report that many popular sunscreen do not have enough protector in it. We really are in trouble here!!

Health issues are always scary, but great that they caught this in time. Best of luck and remember there is always next summer to wear those shorts etc! Hang in there!
