Wonderful end to this great trip!!
The sun (and mountains) came out to play today! The weather warmed. Seattle and I became friends.
So did these ladies, my dinner mates, Lacey and Amelia
And Roni
We had big plans to eat at Matt’s In The Market, which is have heard all weekend is phenomenal, but I failed to realize it would be closed on Sunday! A quick walk later, we ended up at Cutter’s on the waterfront, which ended up being the perfect spot.
I wasn’t too hungry from my big chocolate snack today, so I ordered a bowl of soup – smoked salmon chowder – that was rich, yet very delicious. (I couldn’t finish it all)
Plus a wonderful arugula salad with apricot, parmesan, balsamic reduction and a sherry dressing
We talked and talked – a mile a minute – everything from photography to parenthood.
And said our farewells over Fran’s chocolates that I shared with the group.
Last chocolate standing.
Last BlogHer standing.

That smoked salmon chowder looks sooooo rich. Wow. But I’d love to try a bite.
And that teal/turquoise is an awesome color on you, Kath. It looks so pretty on you with your skin and eyes!
Cristin says
You look so cute in aqua! Isn’t it a pain when restaurants are closed on Sunday!! People still want to eat! Glad you had a fun last day. The chocolates look so yummy.
KathEats says
Especially in the tourism heart of this city!

Thanks for the advice on where to sign up for blogconventions! I will HAVE to get to one when we return stateside…until then, wandering the streets of Seoul it is! Or…most recently, in Siem Reap, Cambodia;) I love reading about your adventures, and I have not yet had the chance to go to Seattle, but it looks like a wonderful city!!

OMG salmon chowder sounds incredible! Salmon is incredibly rich on its own but I can’t even imagine in soup form….muuuuust try to recreate that!!!
mary @ minutespermile says
That soup looks intense!
Susan H. @ The Food Allergy Chronicles says
That was quite the bowl of soup! I went out for dinner last week…someone ordered the clam chowder…it was terrine sized! Good thing you ordered a salad to accompany it…he ordered seafood pasta in a cream sauce…he had to bring it home.

you know what this post makes me randomly jealous of? good LIGHTING in restaurants. :p i know i can boost and play in lightroom, but i never get near windows… or… eat dinner before the sun goes down. haha. glad you got in so much after blogher! seattle looks wonderful.
Lisa @bitesforbabies says
Smoked salmon chowder?!!! YUM! I’ve never heard of it…maybe in “my part of the world” it’s not common! Lol! Too bad I have a sensitivity to dairy…:-(
Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning says
Smoked salmon chowder… that’s definitely intriguing to me! Cream-based soups are one of those foods that I can only have a bite or two of- we just don’t get along well. 🙂
Glad you had such a great trip (but I bet you’re ready to be back home!).
Angela @ Happy Fit Mama says
I love Seattle when it’s not raining! 🙂

Those chocolates look incredible!!

Wonderful trip. The soup sounds so good although in warmer weather, I’d opt for the arugula salad over soup.

Creamy soups are so filling! I had cream of crab on Sunday, and then could barely finish the rest of my meal. They sure taste good though!I don’t think I’ve ever had an apricot, they look like a peach!
Fran@ Broken Cookies Don't Count says
Looks like a good end to your weekend!
Erin Motz says
Creamy soups make me feel totally stuffed! Looks delicious though 🙂
Mary @ From Chaos to Calm says
Ohhh, I like Cutter’s. Seattle is wonderful when it is sunny here. We don’t get tons of sun but when we do it makes living in the Pacific Northwest so great. It is green and you get used to the rain. Everything is a trade off I guess. Although, it looks like where you live it is both green and often sunny. No fair! Glad you had a great trip out!
Julia H. @ Going Gulia says
Wow, smoked salmon chowder? I’ve never even heard of that! Clam chowder is delicious, so I bet smoked salmon is even better. Mmmmmm.
Stephanie @ Food and Fitness 4 Real says
Hi Kath, I really enjoyed getting to meet you again on Friday night and spend some time talking about babies. Good luck with the last few months of your pregnancy. It looks like you had a wonderful Sunday in Seattle. This was my first visit to Seattle but I would love to bring my husband back and expore the other areas of the city like you did (plus do some winery tours in Washington). I also ate at Cutters on Saturday evening, everthing we ordered was fresh and tasty. Hope you got home safely yesterday.
KathEats says
Nice to meet you too Stephanie!! Glad you also had a good trip – I want to bring Matt back to the PNW when I can drink beer again!
