Except for one!!
A big puddle of drippy Wild Squirrel Chocolate Sunflower Butter!
The squirrels sent us a few sample packets of new flavors at the bakery, and I couldn’t wait to try out this flavor since I love sunflowers. Believe it or not, that puddle is only about 1 tbsp (half the packet) because Matt had the other half (I do think I got the drippier half
)He was home for breakfast after a run this morning! Hats off to the chef.
Whipped banana oatmeal with cottage cheese, sunflower butter and coconut!
Gone way too fast
May showers bring…June greenery!
I put some in my pocket for our next rainy day!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Oooh those new flavours (well, from the little bits I can see) sound delicious! I wonder if they’re available in stores yet? I’m intrigued by the one that appears to have espresso in the title!
KathEats says
Yeah, they are on their website I think
Lynn says
Did you see Wild Squirrel on Shark Tank?
KathEats says
I didn’t – I havent’ seen that show
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
I love sample packets of nut butters – it’s a great way to test it out without buying the whole jar!
Lindzjane115 says
Agreed! I always want to try interesting flavors, but I’m nervous to commit to a whole jar. Packets are the way to go! Can you buy sample packets on the Wild Squirrel website?
KathEats says
Yup
KathEats says
(Or you can just come to the bakery and taste them Lindsey!)
Lindzjane115 says
Oh! That would be fun! I’ll try to make it in soon 🙂
lindzjane115 says
I stopped in today after work and sampled the “Sneaky Cinnamon” and “Curious Cocoa-Nut” flavors. Cocoa-Nut won the taste test…and it was so drippy! It would be perfect for breakfast “puddles” 🙂 Next time I come to the bakery I might have to buy some Wild Squirrel to take home…
KathEats says
Yay!
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says

Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
I love getting sample packets! I travel a lot, so they are perfect to take with to add to hotel oatmeal in the morning. the only downside is that you can’t really make overnight oats in a packet…

I always look forward to your posts. I need to start jumping on the sunflower butter bandwagon. It looks amazing mixed with cereals and yogurts. I’m sitting here eating my bowl of wheaties wishing I had some.
Wesley @ the way home says
I have never heard of these squirrels…I must try. I just got into Justin’s almond butter (I had previously thought I didn’t like almond butter for some reason) so I’m excited to try some new stuff. Any idea whether they have them in Tennessee?

Hi Kath,
I’m looking for an cost effective rice cooker to make my oats in. What brands would you recommend that are not too expensive? Thanks!
KathEats says
The one I bought was this one: http://www.amazon.com/Zojirushi-NS-TGC10-Cooker-Warmer-Stainless/dp/B000MAERM0/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1337107682&sr=8-8
Anything by the Zojirushi brand is bound to be good, but I have no experience with any other models
Kate says
I’m in college and we bought a really cheap one for our apartment, but my mom uses a nicer quality at home. Honestly I can’t taste the difference between the two and the amount of time is pretty much the same. I would look on amazon to get reviews for whatever price range you’re looking for, but I think they’re all pretty much the same (only my opinion!)
Amanda @flecksofgreen says
Great! Thank you for your help!
Rebecca @ Blueberry Smiles says
I love your bowl! So cute! Where’d you get it?

It’s from Anthro!

Erica says
Yum! Chocolate sunflower seed butter? I totally need to try this- sounds ridiculous good. Have a great day!
Katie says
Those Wild Squirrel flavors sound delicious! I’m having trouble storing my nut butters. I would love the drippy consistency that you have, but mine always stiffen with a layer of oil at the top. I know that some people prefer to store their nut butters in the fridge to avoid the oil separation, but I don’t like cold nut butters OR thick consistency. Do you suppose I’m just choosing poor brands or is there something I should be doing to avoid thick, separated butters? Thanks!!
KathEats says
It might just be the brands. Mine don’t tend to separate that much – I just give them a few good stirs in the beginning
Kate says
I know you said you don’t like them cold, but in case you’re willing to give it a shot, I store my almond butter in the fridge upside down. It’s never thick and eliminates the oil separation, but I’m sure it varies by brand/kind of nut butter
