Whoooo hoooo!! Biochem test O.V.E.R. It went well enough. It was one of those “stretch your brain and apply what you know” type tests, so I really have no idea how I did.
Then Food Science was cancelled, so my friends and I went over to the library early to knock out this Foodservice assignment that required us to read a book on reserve and do some small assignments from the end of the chapter.
Three
Hours
Later……..
I was starving but SO happy to have them finished!!
I didn’t want to pack up all my gear and relocate, so I just stayed in the library to eat. I know some of Winthrop’s staff reads KERF! Shhhhh! Don’t tell on me!
I packed a delicious smoked salmon + romaine sandwich on GH Honey Wheat Bread.
TJ’s Greek with blackberries + some Optimum Slim
And some raw veggies (peppers, broc, cuc) with a few dabs of sriratcha. I was on FI-YA by the end of this – sweating all over and numb! Spicy!
No overview photo because i had to eat them one at a time discreetly!
The African prize made it safe and sound to Erin’s blog: Look what I won. So glad the ring fits Erin!
I am off to Foodservice and then to an appointment with my advisor and them home, where Matt should be preparing some Indian-inspired veggies for dinner. Perhaps I will watch a movie tonight to decompress before I continue my haul of projects this week!?
Shannon (The Daily Balance) says
YAY! for your test being over 😉
Those blackberries look so fresh and delish!
zestycook says
Finally the test is over!!! I am addicted to blackberries lately!
Courtney (The Hungry Yogini) says
Glad your test is over!!! Love the secret library picnic =)
Erin says
Those berries look fab.
Thx again for the prize Kath!!
Rose says
Lunch looks great and totally well-balanced. I love that about your meals, lunches in particular.
If you have time for some relaxation, I’d say go for it! During crazy weeks, I always take whatever I can get.
Meghann says
I used to sneak food into my school’s library all the time and even drinks. I became a pro at sneaking in my hot chocolate in my bag. Of course now it has permenant hot chocoalte stains all over the inside. 🙂
Sarah (lovINmytummy) says
I’m telling. You’re the reason why there is sriratcha in my library books. 😉
Hope you do get to watch a movie and that its a good one!
Moran (The Running Addict) says
HAHA you are so funny!!
Glad your test if FINALLY over!
Mom says
Well…. As your mother, I am hoping you picked up your crumbs, which I suspect you did.
But what I find interesting is that I just arrived at my school, where I teach English, and was contemplating sneaking a bag of Bugles into the library. (Small, small bag.) I won’t say a word about you sneaking food into your library if you don’t complain about me eating delicious bugles. (The library here is too small to get by with sneaking, btw.)
Lauren says
Smoked salmon is such an underrated sandwich protein… I need to buy it more often!
Leah @ Simply Fabulous Now says
woohoo congrats on your test being over Kath!!
Lovely lunch!
Mara @ What's For Dinner? says
YAY! Glad the test is over!!!
Great on the sly lunch 🙂
Lynn says
Kath, I just started reading your blog and am fascinated!
Can you tell me what GH Honey Wheat is? I just can’t figure out the GH part….
Thanks!
Danielle says
What a relief for you to have the test over!
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Marissa says
Yay hot sauce!
Lisa D says
i used to hate biochem tests!! haha i need to pick me up some of this sriacha sauce and use sparingly, i dont want to be all sweaty and hot!!!!
brandi says
such a rebel! i was always eating and talking too loudly in the library!
VeggieGirl says
Haha BUSTED with the picnic!! 😀
Hallie says
Now I have ANOTHER thing to try Sriracha on! I mixed it with plain yogurt for a sandwich spread per your suggestion and that was amazing. Over the weekend, I went out to a Greek restaurant, and since Greek food isn’t spicy, my friend was going to sneak in Sriracha…but she forgot 🙂
Speaking of sneaking in, your lunch looks way healthier than any food I snuck into my library in college. I seem to remember a lot of gummy candy and diet coke going on in the those days…had to stay awake somehow!
Michelle Hisae says
Hah, yeah I would totally sneak food in the library. It makes studying SO much more fun! And who can study if they have low energy? Nobody!
Bec says
i always sneak food too, I get hungry and I need to eat!
Beadie @ What I Ate Yesterday says
Hehehe…too funny you ate in the library!
I was wondering, how many ounces is that little yogurt container, it looks like the perfect size but photos can be deceiving.
Lisa says
I’m a contraband snacker, too. Glad you’re done with the test!
Kara says
Totally have snuck food into the library. It makes it taste better to know that you’ve been so stealthy 🙂
JENNA says
those blackberries look so good!
Sharon says
Oh wow, super delicious!
Heather says
HOORAY!!! The test is DONE!! Bet that feels good! Good work studying so hard today… I’m sure you’ll be glad when the test for that class rolls around!
What a yummy lunch! Those blackberries look so juicy and ripe!
Diana says
eating in the library, you rebel! haha!
the berries look fantastic!

Hey kath!
Just curious, has your school ever offered to feature you in their newspaper or anything like that? Do they know about KERF?
Sarah (Tales of Expansion) says
kath, you’re such a rule-breaker 😉 i’m sure the school will turn a blind eye, though — you’re probably sending admissions apps through the roof!
(also, i’m doing a bob’s red mill giveaway on my blog right now in case you’re interested in entering … and helping me spread the word 🙂 thanks!)
laci says
Fabulous Library lunch, I will make that for tomorrow butt replace the salmon with flavored tofu and use soy yogurt! 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration, you are an amazing cook + blogger! 😀
K says
That amount of spiciness sounds just right 😀 Shh…I eat in the library too!
Way to go knocking that assignment out of the way!
Meaghen says
That sandwich sounds delish!! I adore smoked salmon!
The Duo Dishes says
Srirchacha on raw veggies? You are brave! We can only do the hot sauce in a sauce!
Meredith (Pursuing Balance) says
I’m glad your exam went well!!! Mine seemed to be ok too — though like yours, it’s a “stretch your brain” exam so I don’t REALLY know 100% yet how I did lol.
Kath says
Lynn ,
GH = Great Harvest Bread Company where my husband works as a dough mixer and baker. Welcome to KERF!
Beadie @ What I Ate Yesterday,
I think it’s about a cup? Maybe 3/4 a cup? I’m not sure! It’s from the grocery store tupperware aisle.
Oh She Glows,
Yeah – I was just in the magazine! Remember the hot pink shirt photo!?
Kath
Look Younger says
the blackberries looks fabulous! great!
Sarah says
Hi Kath
Great blog!
I was just wondering what you thought of wheatgrass juice? Does it really have any rela health benefits or is it just so new hyped drink, soon to be replaced by another one?
Thanks!
Sarah
Kath says
Sarah,
I went to Wikipedia to check out what they say about wheatgrass. Sounds like it has some vitamins and minerals, but according to a nice chart, you’re better off eating your veggies. If you like the juice, drink it, but I’d rather chew my calories. I wouldn’t add it to your daily intake (sounds expensive) but might be fun smoothie addition?

Hi Kath,
Great blog!
I’m interested in starting a blog, but there seems to be several options of blog hosting sites out there. What made you choose WordPress over Blogger? It looks like you used to be on Blogger. Was it easy to transfer over or did you have to start from scratch? Thanks in advance for your input. Keep up the great work!
