A few weeks ago I walked by our friends at Pot Luck Farm and they had this new jewelry stand on display. Patsy’s son made it for them to showcase his girlfriend’s hand-made jewelry.
I asked if he could make me one too, and the following week Pasty had a handful available for sale for $25.
It’s such a charming, rustic way to display my earrings which were always stored in clumps in my closet drawers.
Also from the market, I am in love with Everona Dairy’s Herbs de Provence goat cheese!! Ahhh it’s so good. And thanks to my cheese tasting with Nadjeeb a few weeks ago I now eat the rinds with confidence. You totally can (and that’s where all the flavor is!) The rind on this cheese is the best part.
Finally from our City Market I’ve been loving The Juice Laundry’s Rinse + Recharge juice.
It’s like a spicy lemonade with a touch of pineapple, and the cayenne is no joke.
Absolutely love it for a spicy cocktail hour!
Method’s new spray fabric softener smells soooo good! I found it at Target and bought a bottle to enhance our laundry. I took a set of sheets 2 weeks after they had been washed and still smelled the faint lavender lilac scent.
Do you have a crusty cabinet under your kitchen sink?
I recently bought some of this contact paper to put underneath and really like it.
It was easy to put in because of the nice lines on the back
And it’s slightly thicker than normal contact paper so it seems more durable than most
Organized!
Have you ever browsed through the Ballard Designs catalog?
Sometimes look at catalogs like magazines at bedtime. All of the beautifully made beds are calming before sleep! Ballard has some good deals, and this rug is one of them. I bought it to freshen up our master bedroom. It’s an indoor/outdoor rug, so it’s really smooth – almost like silk – and very easy to clean if it gets dirty.
The best part is that it was only $49 for a 4×6. Great deal! {For some reason I can’t find a link to this rug – maybe it’s out of season for now?}
To match the rug I also bought this nice pillow at Homegoods. I’m really into the lumbar pillows for beds these days.
Next to my bed I ditched my unused alarm clock from the 90s for a dock for my phone, which I have wanted for a long time. I am loving not having to fish around for my phone charger cord every night in the dark, and that this is a really great, dim clock when the lights are off.
SITTING in the dock is now a brand-spanking new Samsung Galaxy S4!!! This is my third Samsung phone and I’ve loved them all. I had the Infuse and then the Galaxy S3. So when Samsung offered to send me the S4 it made my year. I don’t think I would have been as excited over an offer for a new car! I absolutely love the phone. It’s sleek, sharp and has all the features of Android that I love (widgets and Googlicious things).
Samsung wanted me to share the love with you all, so one lucky winner will get a brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 as well! You must have one of these carriers to be compatible with the winning phone: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon. Giveaway is for US only, please, and will continue until September 8.
*I bought everything in this post except the phone. All opinions are my own. { <—I always feel dumb saying that because why wouldn’t they be?!}

I love that earring stand! So creative and I love how it keeps them organized, yet out of the way. Frees up some drawer space which I always love.
Kay says
Have you been throwing away the rinds of cheeses this whole time?!
KathEats says
No I have been eating them in fear!
Kathy W. says
ha! I remember the first time I ate a brie rind–with trepidation!
I love posts like this. I need one of those earring racks.
Julie says
Love the rug- beautiful colour! That earring holder is also very charming. I have the Galaxy S3 and love it! It’s my first cell phone ever (I know), and I’m 33! My husband insisted I get a phone when I got pregnant. I will definitely be upgrading soon to the S4.

Love all of these new items you’ve grabbed, and the phone stand is such a good idea! Thanks for always inspiring me with these posts. Unfortunately, I am an Apple girl and will stick to my iPhone 😉 I can’t seem to part ways with them (my laptop, phone, iPod, etc!).
Lori S H says
I love your home posts! Your house is always so tidy!

Oh having a dock for my phone would be so much easier! Good buy. And that bedroom is gorgeous.
Karen says
Thanks for the opportunity to win this awesome giveaway, Kath! I’ve been phone shopping lately, so this raffle is very timely for me! (Love the Method spray tip too – though I doubt it could match our beloved deceased baby scented dryer sheets!)
Jen says
What??
KathEats says
She means the baby line of marshmallow dryer sheets that are no longer made! It does sound a bit creepy though :/
Jen says
Yes. Yes it does. 🙂
Becca says
That rug reminds me of your sister’s wedding pattern theme. I think she said on her blog that she wanted to get a new rug for her place so she might want to get the same!
Megan says
I’ve been looking for a good dock for my Galaxy. Do you have a link to the one you got?

Beautiful rug
Anele @ Success Along the Weigh says
LOVE that rug and the earring holder too. Mine has an antique picture frame with wire but that is super cute too! I’m thinking that cork in my medicine cabinet would be a pretty addition!
Molly says
Love the earring rack! I saw one similar on pinterest and had my father make me one. He added hooks to the bottom so I could hang some of my necklaces. I love it! Thanks for posting a picture of your nice clean sink cabinet. Now I have to go clean mine. 😉
Erika says
Your inspiring me to clean under my sinks, everything looks so organized and fresh! Would love the phone!!!
Elisabeth says
Awesome giveaway! I really should get a charging dock for my phone – the old school alarm clock isn’t really doing it for me anymore 😉
Livi says
that jewelry stand is gorgeous! I want to craft that!
Stacy K. says
I’ve been thinking about switching to Samsung from Iphone… I’ve actually be debating for years, lol. I know you wrote about switching over, but what would you say has been the greatest benefit of Samsung vs. Iphone? I heard the camera on the S4 is amazing, and I use my phone camera to capture 75% of the baby’s pictures.
KathEats says
The widgets are my favorite part of android. I can see snapshots if my email, weather, etc without having to open an app. The giant screen, swipe text, and camera are also fabulous on the S4

Katie says
Love the jewelry stand! Great giveaway, too 🙂
K says
A charging dock by the bed would be such a great idea! I have the problem of my munchkin pulling on the cord after I unplug the phone and I’m constantly having to remember to pull it up onto the bedside table. Which is an awesome look – this white cord snaking all over everything!
KathEats says
ours is tucked away enough that he cant reach it thankfully
Steph says
^I miss the Method marshmallow dryer sheets too! They smelled so good. I went with the water lily and aloe scent when they discontinued them. Lovely home update it always makes me want to clean. PS. You totally earned that Galaxy with all your unsponsored ‘YAY ANDROID’ – ING over the years! ?
Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves says
The earring stand is so lovely! I love the rustic-ness of it. That goat cheese looks fantastic too!
Emily says
Love this giveaway! I was about to get the iPhone 5, but we’ll see if I’m about to convert to the dark side … 🙂
That earring rack is too much cute. And now I’m reminded that my own sink could use a little TLC. Sigh!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
Ohhh my, I would DIE if I won this phone!! I need one super badly right now, but don’t have an upgrade until January. I’ve been coveting the new Samsung Galaxy for months now. Eeeek!
I absolutely love everything you’ve done to the house! Where did you get your comforter? It’s so clean looking and pretty. I’m looking for a new one, but not sure exactly what I have in mind. Love yours!
KathEats says
It is the Pottery Barn matelasse quilt – was a wedding gift. I love it! It’s great for summer.
Tara@PNWRunner says
I’ve heard soooo many good things about the S3. My Iphone is dying quickly! I’d love to make the change! I love the earring rack that you have. Great idea!!
Jodi says
I love that earring stand. It’s so creative. Also love that cork you used. Not sure if they sell those around here, but I’ll look.
Marissa@ohhhsolovely says
you’ve gotten some nifty things! i really love the jewelry holder. also, i just did something really similar to our nasty under the sink cabinet. i love it because now i can actually look in that cabinet without being grossed out!
Averie @ Averie Cooks says
That juice! Love it! I just finished a 3-day juice cleanse about 2 weeks ago. I love doing them. It was only my 2nd time but I feel so energized and…refreshed. The juice reminds me of the 2nd juice of the day in both cleanses. Lemon, cayenne, touch of agave. It’s bold and hated it at first but I grew to love it!
Love your bedroom stuff. So pretty!
And congrats on the new phone! Love that box it’s sitting next to!
Olivia says
Have you found that the nozzle on the Method fabric softener gets clogged? I’d love to try it, but the reviews on Amazon pretty much all say that it clogs fast and is difficult to fix, so I’ve been holding off.
KathEats says
Yes. Here’s what happened: mine kept getting clogged so I called the company to see if I had a defective one. She said that their lot beginning (or ending?) with 12 had a defect and the new lot with a 13 was good. They sent me a coupon for a free product and I got a new one for free that was fine. So give ’em a call if yours is bad!
Alex @ Kenzie Life says
I LOVE these types of posts! I especially love the earring stand. I’m not usually into rustic items but I do really love that! And that juice looks so refreshing!
Laura Ann says
I love your home posts! Great idea on the cork contact paper. I’m sold!
Liz @ I Heart Vegetables says
YUM! That juice looks so good!! 🙂 I’ve been loving fresh juice lately. And it would be so nice to have a place to store my earrings!
chris says
Fun post! Love Ballard and cheese 🙂 Now I’ll have to stop cutting the rind off my brie and just be more French!
Kris says
Thanks for showing the earring frame. I’m going to pick up a frame and some chicken wire, and staple away!
Victoria B says
I entered the drawing for the phone. Thanks for a great contest! My husband “installed” lineolum under our kitchen sink. It’s way more durable than Contact paper and is super easy to clean in case something spills. Ask Home Depot or Lowes for a scrap or a discontinued pattern from their samples, just be sure to measure the space so you get enough. Fun post!!
Kimberly @ Healthy Strides says
I found an old window frame in our garage when we moved and repurposed it for an earring rack. A little sanding, spray paint and wire mesh and it was good to go. It’s so cute and VERY functional.
April says
I love my S3, and I’d love to win the S4! Do you have any favorite apps you’d like to share? I’m new to the smartphone world and I’m still learning about all of the functionality of my phone. I’m always interested to hear about people’s favorite apps, especially the organizing, shopping, nutritional ones!
KathEats says
Here’s what I use all the time: Instagram, Feedly, Hangouts (chat), Twitter, Facebook, Google app, You Tube, Photo Grid (for photo collages), Google Keep (for note taking and list making), Endomondo (for walking), Zillow (for real estate obsession), Public Radio + Podcast for entertainment, Yahoo Weather (best for weather), Kindle (for reading), Google Drive (for documents), Mint.com (for $), and Pandora. I actually don’t have a ton of apps – they make me feel cluttered!
Jen says
I hope I win! I could put a Galaxy 4 to really good use!
Stephanie says
Thanks for such a great opportunity! I read all the time and love that you can still keep such honesty and openness in your reviews….and STILL find a way to make it profitable so you can be a great mom! 🙂
Kim says
Love the rug and pillow!
My husband and I just moved into our new home about a week and a half ago and I’ve been lining all of the kitchen cabinets with the cork shelf liner…. I’ve used two different brands… one I picked up and Target and one I got at Lowes. I LOVE it! Although I’m terrible at lining the shelves perfectly, I can’t seem to get the liner to go it straight!… the kitchen is almost done… next up are the bathrooms! Also, have you noticed that the roles aren’t very efficient in size. The roles are 20″ wide, but a majority of my shelves are 13″ deep, so I can’t cut the role in half to have it line more shelves. And my deeper shelves are 25″ deep, so I still can’t win! Oh well, I’m jigsawing the larger spaces together with the extra pieces from the smaller shelves. At least the seams hide well! 😉
kathy says
I am thinking of ordering this rug in mineral the same color you have. but can’t find any info as to the actual real life color of this rug. Since you have it can you tell me? is it blue or aqua or turquoise help!!!
KathEats says
I’d call it blue with a touch of aqua
