Every now and then I like to share new finds and things I’ve discovered! Here’s the latest.
Jeni’s Ice Cream Minis
I went to a Super Bowl party hosted by my friend Katie, and our friend Seth brought a cooler of Jeni’s ice cream minis to the party! What a genius party food to bring!
Super Bowl Group!
The minis have a single scoop and a tiny spoon in the lid, so it made serving ice cream to a group so easy. Plus everyone got to choose their favorite flavor. Seth bought ours at the Greenwood Market in Crozet, but I discovered you can also buy them through the Jeni’s website.
My favorites are Brambleberry Crisp, Salty Caramel, Birthday Cake and Almond Butter Brickle.
More Ice Cream
Apparently we are an ice cream loving group because I did a Barbie movie night recently, and we devoured some pints of Ben & Jerry’s. I voted for good old Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough as my fav.
Birch enjoyed a Dirt Cake Sundae when we went together to pick them up.
Romantic Comedy
I just finished Curtin Sittenfeld’s book Romantic Comedy which was on a lot of top lists. I will admit that I got a little bored with the sketch comedy show talk in the first third of the book, but the second two thirds of the book was SO GOOD. The writing is excellent, and I loved the plot. Highly recommend! My mom and I are about to start the new Kristin Hannah book The Women, and I also bought On Mystic Lake to read next. If you have any “must read” books of late, please share them in the comments!
Playa Bowls
Cville has a few new smoothie / juice shops, and I am here for it! The first is Clean Juice at Stonefield, which I have not gotten a chance to visit yet, and the second is Playa Bowls at Barracks Road. Playa is a little hidden (across from Five Guys) but the inside is bright and beachy with a surf and pineapple theme!
You can build your own smoothie bowl with one of a handful of bases and then add a million different toppings. I did a half coconut, half green protein base with banana, granola, coconut flakes, and peanut butter. It was so good!!
Geometry Towels
My friend Anna raved about Geometry’s cloth napkins and dish towels recently. I have a decent stash of both, but she convinced me to give them a try. She was right – they are amazing! The fabric is very absorbent, soft, and quick drying.
I had such a hard time choosing the patterns I wanted, but I went with black and white for the kitchen along with a watercolor botanical print for spring. Now I want to try more of their products!

Always changing it up! LOVE this one for approaching springtime vibes.
Grow Spring Fragrances
Also on the horizon for spring, Grow has released their spring fragrances! Think Wildflowers, Hibiscus, and Green Tea! I’m all about these fresh, floral scents this time of year. Their candles and room sprays are clean with 100% plant-based transparent ingredients. They do not give off a super strong scent – they are beautifully subtle.
Outlander
Thomas and I are making our way through Outlander seasons 6 and 7. Funny story: we thought we had seen season 6 since it had been a few years since we’d last watched. So we decided to watch the season 6 finale before starting season 7. As we were watching the finale, we both admitted we didn’t remember much of anything, including characters in the episode. After we finished the finale, we went to spot check some season 6 episodes and realized we hadn’t watched a lick of season 6!! So we started with the finale and had to go back and watch all the episodes before. D’oh!! SUCH a good show though. One of my all-time favorite shows (up there with The Office, Downton Abbey, and Handmaids Tale.).
New Puzzle Alert!
My friend Ellen is also a Puzzologist (Puzzleista?) and her mom has a basement room that is filled floor to ceiling with puzzles! So every now and then Ellen brings me a few to borrow. I just started this Indian Pillows 1,000 piece puzzle and it’s fabulously filled with colors and patterns – the best kind of puzzle!

I love Kristin Hannah, too, but this one was far and away her very best book. I cried multiple times (and I’m not a crier!). I’d say it’s a top 5 all time book for me. Hope you love it, Kath!

I can’t wait to keep reading!

If you’re looking for new books and you love the show, I highly recommend Outlander (book version)! I couldn’t get into the show (casting was off in my mind) but the series is one of my all time faves.

Oh man, I have such a hard time reading a book that I know the plot of! Are they hard to follow? Because I think the shows are!
