Good morning! Have you had your coffee, tea or warm lemon water yet?
Last fall I went to the Celestial Seasonings HQ to learn all about tea. I have been drinking their tea daily ever since – my favorites are the Sleepytime line, which I have almost every night, and the Sweet Harvest Pumpkin – plus all of the holiday flavors (duh). Today I get to share with you three new products that they shared with us last fall but we had to keep locked in the vault until now!
Introducing Celestial Seasoning’s new chai teas! I absolutely LOVE chai spice, so I am crazy about these. They are inspired by the secret menus of the world’s best coffeehouses – the Dirty Chai being a popular special request as a blend of chai tea and espresso. The new products come in several varieties: Celestial Lattes, which are available in bottles and concentrates, and Teahouse Chai Teas, available in tea bags. Look for them at Target, Giant, Harris Teeter among other retailers.
The Dirty Chai tea rocks! I love it with just a splash of half and half. The tea bag is filled with masala chai spiked with a shot of espresso. Other Celestial Teahouse new flavors include Coconut Thai Chai, Mountain Chai and Decaf Mountain Chai.
The lattes are sold as ready-to-drink bottles and as concentrates and come in four different flavors:
• Dirty Chai – lively masala chai spiked with a shot of bold espresso
• The Godfather – authentic masala chai with bold espresso and rich cocoa
• Mountain Chai – a traditional masala chai with ginger, cardamom and cloves
• Matcha Green – a smooth blend featuring traditional matcha green tea powder
The bottles will be convenient while out and about, but the concentrate is a great way to make your own lattes at home. The concentrate has 60 calories and 14 grams of sugar in a half cup, so it is sweetened, but the good news is you can customize your drink to your own taste and needs.
This flavor is The Godfather – authentic masala chai with bold espresso and cocoa. Pour in as much as you like and add any milk of your choice! It can be served either hot or cold! Seeing as it’s a steamy July morning, I went with cold : )
This morning I had a cup of Dirty Chai tea plus I shared the Godfather latte with Matt. Served with scrambled eggs, toast with butter and jam and blackberries!
Finally….a blooper. This is what happens to depth perception when you’re looking through a camera lens!!
Thanks to Celestial Seasoning for sharing their products and sponsoring this post!

Yum, these new products from Celestial Seasonings sound so great! I’m already a fan of their other tea varieties, so I think I would really enjoy this. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for it.

So glad you tried this! I’ve seen this line twice now at Kroger but was hesitant to buy (kind of a chai snob). Glad to hear it’s tasty!

GIGGLING over those last photos! What blogger hasn’t made that mistake?!
Also – looks super tasty 🙂

Off topic but I just bought a loaf of Great Harvest Cheese and Pepperoni Bread at our local Farmers Market in Massachusetts! I told the owner that I’ve been a follower of your blog for years and have drooled over pictures of your bread! I was so excited to see all of the bread she had, I will be going back again to buy some more! And she was lovely by the way, loved speaking with her!
p.s. I have the bread sitting out on my desk at work and its smells heavenly!
KathEats says
Thanks for reporting back! Glad it was a good experience 🙂
Lauryn says
Ummmm excuse me while I run to the nearest Target to stock up! Out of the different products, which did you prefer? I’m leaning towards the teabags, but that’s because I typically find concentrates to be too sweet for my taste.
KathEats says
I will probably be a long time drinker of the Dirty Chai teabags and the concentrates on occasion. They are delicious but I’m not a dedicated latte drinker at home.
sarah says
I tried the Godfather latte concentrate this morning, yum! What is it about the teabags that makes you prefer them more over the concentrates or lattes?
KathEats says
Simplicity and the lack of sugar:)

though this looks tasty, i just have to say i’m a little tired of this exact post popping up on so many Healthy Living Blogs in the last few days… they’re all the same and sponsored posts are already just pretty tedious to read most of the time. i’m just not one of those people that enjoys them i guess. i know you have to earn money, but… i just want to put it out there that i love your original content and that is why i have been a loyal reader for so long. anyhoo, you gotta do what you gotta do, but just know that i bet i’m not alone in skipping reading these types of posts.. (like Nestle recently, too…)
thanks for reading and publishing!
Kristan says
Oh I am so buying that Dirty Chai in the concentrate and the teabags and probably the ready to drink too. This is a perfect example of a relevant sponsored post that brings me value! Thanks Kath.
Paula says
Hi! Long time reader – I remember a while back reading a wonderful post about your trip to Africa with Lipton Teas – Are they still one of your sponsors? Do you have a preference between the 2 brands, and was there any reason you switched companies? 🙂 thanks!
KathEats says
I haven’t worked with them since 2009 but my mom is a die-hard Lipton drinker so I always have a cup when she’s around!
Kelsey says
Chais are one of my favorite teas, and I’m so excited to try these new products once I can find them! The Mountain Chai and Matcha Green sound amazing, and I know my boyfriend will love the Dirty Chai and Godfather!
Kelly says
Well this is totally off topic, but I just saw that Peppa Pig is coming to Warner Theater in DC in November. My kids are much older than Mazen… But I immediately thought of you when I saw it posted. Might be too far of a drive for a pig, but who knows!????
KathEats says
She is coming to Cville too!!!!!
Kelly says
Perfect…and much closer:)
Cassie says
This is incredible beautiful!
Maryz says

Kath, if you have any pull, please tell Celestial how much I miss Cranberry Cove!
Kristin says
Hi Kath! I have looked at 4-5 different stores for these new teas and can’t find them. Any suggestions on where to look?
KathEats says
It might be just a little too soon for your state – can you put in a request for your store to tell you when they come in? Harris Teeter and Target were the big ones
