After a busy afternoon of conference calls (yay blog summit!!!!!!!!!), I finally got around to mowing the lawn. It was kinda fun though because I wore my iPod and listened to fun songs! No one can hear me singing Celine Dion over the roar of the mower, right!?!??
This afternoon I went a little crazy with the kashi crackers for snacktime. I think I’ve been deprived! Insert 1.5 servings and maybe a hint of nut butter on a few of them!?
After mowing and shower #2 today, I sat down to a wonderful, easy, no-clean up dinner! Matt worked another 15 hour day, so I was on my own.
In a bowl I layered: romaine, my leftover fish salad + tortilla from Phat Burrito, leftover sunburst trout from Mother’s Day, Newman’s Own peach salsa, some avocado, some cheese and jalapenos.
It was killer!!!
There was some rice + beans in the burrito –
After dinner I finally got to lounge on the couch for a bit.
OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have waited my WHOLE LIFE FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not completely sold (ToDoist is still the most user friendly and eye-pleasing) but since my to-do list is much smaller now that school is out, I’m going to test it out for a bit. The best part between this and Gmails is now you can sort by date – the most important piece for organization. But you still can’t sort by date across multiple projects, which is so super important, but I LOVE the G-Cal integration. I’m already having some trouble with loading though… And I don’t know if you can print it!?
Two nights ago I discovered the Meditation page on YogaDownload. There’s actually some fun things there. I actually did the Sleepy Sleepy Moon kids meditation! It was 8 minutes and very relaxing. I liked being told the moon was yawning and I was “all snuggly in my covers.” If you have kids, this would be a fun bedtime routine. Tonight I’m thinking about doing the Progressive Meditation. I used to love it in theater class when she would guide us through them. I’ll let you know how it is!
Tomorrow we’re flying to New Orleans!! AHHH! Not until the afternoon though, so I should have the morning to get things together.
Nite!

Don’t you just LOVE Kashi’s! Nut butter is PERFECT on them! I personally like dipping them in greek yogurt… you should try it out sometime. 😉
Those meditations sound great! Do you know if they have any free ones to try out? Otherwise, be sure to let me know if you find a really good one to buy!

What a yummy salad!
Have fun in New Orleans!

Oh thank god they added tasks!! Its one of the reasons I have never switched from my Palm pda, because I have a “tasks in the calendar” addiction. I have had Palm pilots since 8th grade, so needless to say I am a freak about electronic organization and I appreciate this bit of news!!
Lisa says
Enjoy New Orleans! I met a student at Tulane this summer – he said the funniest thing about New Orleans was the ATMs that dispense singles. For those “adult entertainment” venues.
Brooke says
Have fun in New Orleans! I’m actually headed to Tulane for law school this summer. Make sure and eat plenty of fresh seafood!

First stop in N’awlins must be Cafe du Monde! Yum!
Help Meghan Run says
Heather mentioned dipping Kashis in Greek yogurt…actually the best thing to do is make a dip by mixing Greek yogurt *and* almond butter, then dip your Kashi crackers in that. 🙂 It’s delicious!
Have fun in New Orleans!

I love your blog- I never post – but I just thought it was funny that you said you ate more Kashi crackers than intended because you were deprived- your box of crackers is expired- you haven’t had any in such a long time- like in January – lol- were they stale:) too funny they expired Jan. 28/09- I am a stickler on expiry dates:) Keep up the good work on your posts- so fun to read:)

I don’t know what is more hilarious…me picturing you singing Celine while mowing, or your over the top excitement over the G-cal integration.
I’ve looked for those Honey Sesame Kashis everywhere, but alas, I only have 7 grain.
Have fun in Nawlins!

Ugh, mowing the yard. I hate it when that job trickles down to me, though Kevin is very appreciative when I do it for him. 🙂 Look on the bright side, you get yard work done, sweat, and maybe get some sun. Have fun in New Orleans!
Katie says
New Orleans is so fun!!! Enjoy all the yummy food they have to offer.
On a side note…do you weigh yourself regularly or just trust by how your clothes fit?
This is one area I can’t seem to let go of.
Nicole says
That salad looks great! And have fun in New Orleans, that should be a wonderful trip.
RK says
I am so, so excited that Google added a task feature and that the calendar and email are integrated. I love gmail! I am also really excited to hear more about the blogger summit. You were a busy woman today! Glad you got a chance to relax last night. Hope you have safe travels today and I look forward to a New Orleans recap!

I am so jealous that you are going to New Orleans. NOLA is one of my favorite places in the world!!! Have fun and take plenty of pics for us!
Kath says
Courtney
Haha – I suppose I did!!
Lauressa ,
Whoa – I guess they are expired!! They still taste great though 🙂
Katie ,
I stopped regularly weighing myself when I stopped losing weight. It was driving me nuts to see the number flux every day, and I knew it wasn’t helping me keep sane. I’ve weighed myself a handful of times in the past year. I can gauge pretty well by how I just FEEL, although I did put on some weight that crept on this winter. My clothes did get tighter!

I started using ToDoist after seeing it on your site and I love it! So please keep us posted on how the new gmail task list works out… could anything be better than ToDoist?! 🙂
Meryl says
hey kath!
so i am a fellow to-do list addict and use outlook- have yu ever tried it?
I set it up so that my gmail account comes through my outlook. The best part is that it includes an amazing to do list function that lets you sort any way you want and is totally customizable. You can drop emails into you list and make them tasks, drop tasks onto your calendar and lots more 🙂
thought i would pass it along since my search for the perfect list has officially ended.
love your blog!
Kath says
Meryl ,
I used to use Outlook at work and it was OK, but I prefer to have something that is entirely online so I can access it anywhere and across my computers.

The Kashi Crackers really are THAT good. I love the Honey Sesame, but the original ones are good too! I don’t like the other kinds (like the Asiago and the Fire-Roasted Vegetables). I guess I just like a more subtle flavor in the crackers.
