Thanks to Peppa Pig for all the hype about muddy puddles, we are always on the lookout for good ones!
Mazen’s rain boots aren’t but 6 months old and are already cracking – that’s how much he loves them. I need a pair that will LAST! Any recs? I’m considering these, these and these. And on the topic of rain, I got sidetracked googling around for toddler raincoats. This raincoat is so cute. But I do love yellow ones like this GAP one.
Breakfast this morning was simple peanut butter and banana toast sprinkled with chia seeds. I needed something on the lighter side so I could make an earlier workout!
I tried Vanessa’s Tabata class for the first time today – loved it!! It was fast-paced and combined weights with cardio for the ultimate 45 minute all-in-one workout. I left red-faced and sweaty, which is always a good sign.
Back at home for lunch, I made M a pizza with a pita from the freezer, tomato paste, frozen basil and grated cheddar. He loved it!
I wish I had made a pizza for myself, but I knew I had split pea soup to eat, so that’s what I had.
We’re on another day of rain, and I keep chanting “April showers bring May flowers” to myself! Check out the blooms that are popping out!
In other HUGE news, my phone is downloading Android 5.0 Lollipop as I type!! It’s the biggest update Android has released in history (I think) and it’s going to include a lot of tweaks and changes. I can’t wait to see what it’s like!
AND – Joe Z was on Matt’s freshman hall! This video is hilarious! #crowzimmerman

I hear ya on the cracking with rain boots. I’ve bought the expensive ones and they cracked right away also. Just bought the Oakiwear for my twin boys (animal print) and they are very cute and seem sturdy but it’s still early:) Good luck!

I love Hatley raincoats and boots. Pricey but durable AND adorable!

Sounds like an amazing styled tabata class!

Love Tabata training! It can make even the simplest exercise challenging once you give it your all!

Lands End or LLBean, unconditionally guaranteed. Period. I always bought winter coats, boots and backpacks at either, they last forever and if they don’t…they replace them.
KathEats says
Great point! I love them both.
Cassie says
Mazen is so so cute! And I’ve never tried Tabata but it sounds fun!

Are there any specific websites or blogs you read to keep up with technology? I consider you to be pretty tech savvy, and I was just curious!
KathEats says
I follow the Gmail and Google blogs – they rl are my favorites!

Love the spirit animal routine!

Buy rain boots from LL Bean… if they crack, they’ll replace them for free!

I would definitely NOT spend a lot on rain boots at his age. He’s going to outgrow them within a few months! That’s my philosophy on all kids’ clothes.
Nicole says
I would love to win those knives.
Holly says
Mazen’s pizza looked so good I went home and made one for dinner!

My 3 1/2 yr old has gad the Kamiks and currently has the Hunters. They both function perfectly. The Kamiks are slimmer through the calf and less flexible. The Hunters are easier to put on and look more comfortable. The Hunters were on sale at Nordstrom for around 35$ and I bought them then. I will continue to but Hunters because I just think they are easier for him to put on himself!

Hunter boots all the way for me and my three kids! They hold up so well. We have that exact red pair you linked to, love them all!

my favorite salad dressing is mayo, sour cream, some milk and lots of herbs….sort of a herby ranch dressing!! and I would so love to win those knives!!

We just got yellow crocs rain boots – love them!!!!

I recommend the LL Bean puddle stompers. I keep buying the next size as my boys get bigger. Each pair has made it through multiple kids (and been handed down in good condition to friends once we have outgrown them). That said, I no longer get the yellow ones because they get dingy after a few kids. Red and blue have lasted well. Good luck!

If you can get 6 months out of rainboots in a boy of his age??? Wow. You are either in the wrong size rainboot or you got lucky!! My boys would grow through their footwear in 3-4 months at that age into different sizes, before the wear and tear.
That being said, LL Bean and Lands End are my go-to for a lot of outerwear, as it is well constructed, easy to return and exchange, and won’t break the bank.
Denise says
LLBean for rain boots. My kids are 6 & 8, and they have never worn them out- always have grown out of them!! Rain jackets too! (the trail model is the one we have bought them & they are lined!) The best part is LLBean guarantees 100% satisfaction… for ANY reason. receipt or no receipt- so really no risk!! oh- and FREE shipping. 🙂

my almost three-year-old has crocs rain boots – we live in MN and use them A LOT – and they are fabulous! no leaks or cracks, and the handles are really great for them to be able to pull them on themselves.

I have a boot recommendation, BOGS, http://www.bogsfootwear.com/shop/toddler-rain-boots.
We got the baby bogs for my 20 month old as winter boots and they are so light and comfy! Now that it’s spring they’re rain boots. A lot of people I know also love them and I thought it might just be hype but we really love them more than any other boot. They’re a little expensive but we’ve really gotten our money’s worth out of them!

Land’s End for rain gear! Built to last. I had one pair of toddler rain boots last through all 5 of my kids.
