^^Story of my life! So.much.energy.
I picked Mazen up from school to discover him in possession of a calculator, aka his “math”. He did an impressive job plugging in numbers and reporting the answers!
We had a great afternoon playing outside. (Except for the fact that I got pollen all in my eyelashes and it trickled down to my eyeballs and I spent about an hour crying.)
The highlight of the afternoon was when a truck came to remove a big branch from the neighbor’s yard that fell during strong winds. The kids loved watching them haul it into the chopper, and they especially loved seeing the guys climb the tree to cut down the rest of the branch.
Officer Mazen went through our whole Star Wars band-aid collection fixing our little neighbor’s many scrapes!
For dinner, we made a Blue Apron meal — salmon with roasted potato and kale salad. Topped with crème fraîche! Yum.
The kiddo version eventually got consumed after a lot of distracting construction worker playing!
He has really become such a good eater this year!
Survivor is ON, y’all!

Wow! good for him for eating salmon!! I didn’t develop a taste for it until I was way older. Oh gosh, pollen in YOUR EYE? That sounds like nightmare!

I haven’t watched Survivor in so long – didn’t know it was still showing! I used to when it when I was a kid snuggled up with my parents!

I use allergy eye drops every day spring through fall (thaw until frozen, ha) for that very reason! They last 12-hours and I have to wait 15-minutes after the drops before I can put in my contacts. Makes a big difference!!

Ahhh I needed that yesterday!

Zaditor! No prescription needed – from Walmart, Walgreens, etc.

Glad to see Mazen has become a better eater. My daughter just turned 4 and has a pretty limited menu. You give me hope–KALE!

Haha! He calls all greens kale and it’s one of his favorite healthy foods. Kale and sardines – lol…. my son, much?!

Hi! I’m a first time commenter (but long time reader) and I just noticed Mazen’e lunchbox in the second pic. I’ve had such a hard time figuring out the best setup for my 3 year old son’s preschool lunch configuration. Is that a PB kids lunchbox? If so, which one? What containers do you use to pack his lunch in and do they Tetris well into the lunchbox? Do you include an ice pack of some kind? Does his “liquids” cup fit into the lunchbox? Sorry for all of the questions but this has been such a task for me :).

That’s actually someone else’s! I use this one and love it for these reasons:
-the compartments keep things separate, but I can also put two things in the big one like a yogurt and a half sandwich
-it expands from the bottom so I can fit an apple or a kids yogurt if I push the lid on hard
-it fits a spoon inside
-it’s collapsible in the drawer
-dishwasher safe
-there’s no need for a bunch of little containers or baggies, which I loves. makes lunch packing so fast!
No room for an ice pack, but I don’t use them for lunch anyways. I only would for a packed dinner or something that needed to stay frozen (rarely)

I love love love your sunglasses! What brand are they?
KathEats says
They are Suncloud! I love the wood/color blend. They’re also very affordable for polarized glasses!
