I don’t know why, but I had no energy to do anything today!! We did end up taking the King and Queen chairs to the fabric store – the lattice won!!! I think it was both elegant and modern. I liked them all though. The chairs will take six weeks! Our room looks pretty empty now, but I am liking it. I constantly get cravings to de-clutter my life and this was a nice way to temporarily simplify a room.
I got some new business cards!! I made these at Zazzle.com and they come in their own little holder! 5 packs of 20 for $17 – not bad and they came in a week. These small ones are so much easier to carry around too.
My KERF logo is on the back, designed by only the best: Zest!
Because of our late lunch, Matt and I had trouble deciding on dinner. We just weren’t hungry, and the thought of putting a lot of effort into a meal (red lentils were on the menu) wasn’t that exciting. So rather than make a new soup, I suggested we just thaw out some freezer soup. Perfect solution!
I found this Butternut Lentil, and he had a Grain Berry Soup.
I was TOTALLY craving Kashi crackers to go with it. I haven’t been eating them much since Matt’s been working at the bakery because we usually have whole grain breads of all kind around the house, but he didn’t bring any home last week since we went out of town, and had today off, so I had a great excuse to open our last box of Kashis. I might have to go get another box or two when they go 2/$5 just “to have on hand” 🙂
Gosh, they were SO DELICIOUS!! (FYI: I only eat the Honey Sesames now – they are the best)
The soup was good too, but it was gone in about 10 gulps!
We ate dinner with my latest Netflix delivery: Elizabeth: The Golden Age. We both liked it, but didn’t love it.
All day I have been looking forward to a bath and some reading – perhaps a little wind-down yoga. I feel like I got kicked in the cheek (not the one on my face 🙂 ) I’m sore in this weird spot, which I think is related to my flight through the air on Sunday morning?! I could use some half pigeon!
Nite guys!
Heather says
Awesome cards Kath!! And that soup looks really good! Quick and simple… perfect way to relax in the evening. And btw, I TOTALLY agree with you about the Kashi’s – Nothing beats Honey Sesame! 😉
Hope you fit in some yoga this evening!

Kath, I saw your pod on current TV about a week ago and have been addicted to checking your blog every day since then. You’ve inspired me to start eating “real food” too (and whipped banana oatmeal almost every day :P). I feel so much better, and lost five pounds this week! (probably all water, but still encouraging to see). Thanks so much for taking the time to post, and I know that when I leave for college next fall and have to start buying my own groceries, I’ll be referencing this blog about as much as my text books! Thanks again!

Love the cards! Gotta love freezer soups to save the day – turns out I don’t label mine that well and have been known to bring pasta sauce to work thinking its roasted red pepper soup!
Kristan says
Great new cards! I can’t wait to see the chairs too.
And now I’m also inspired to make and freeze some soups for nights when I don’t want to cook.
Lindsay @ Foodrun says
i only eat the sesame kashi crackers, too – thanks to you!
Lauren says

I always get really excited about those time period kind of movies because the previews look so good and then I’m always disappointed. I don’t think I’ve come across one that I’ve been really blown away by!
Grace says
i’ve been silently following your blog and i just wanted to say that i love your business cards your little logos and everything! kashi crackers are amazing.
Michelle Hisae says
I haven’t had Kashis in a long time either! I wouldn’t let myself from buying them because I could not restrain myself from eating so many, haha. They TOO delicious. But I’ll try moderation sometime soon, I know it. 🙂
Nate says
I feel like you should have put a fancy title on the business cards. Something like Founder and CEO of KERF Enterprises, LLC. You’re sort of a big deal, ya know?
Bec says
ooo I can’t wait to see how the chairs turn out!
Melissa @ For the Love of Health says

Half pigeon is my favorite pose. I wonder if you strained your sciatica nerve?
Rachel says
Oooooh, neat business cards! Even though I have a businessy-type job, for some reason they haven’t bought us business cards and it makes me sad. I should just order my own! 🙂
Caroline says
Snazzy cards! I might have to head on over to Zazzle…
Tara says
is it just me, or does that look like the t-rex from jurassic park on the tv screen?
don’t lie, kath… 😀 we know you love those sci-fi thrillers. and i’d bet that matt would rather you announce he spent the evening watching a chomp-em-up movie than a chick flick. 😉

Excellent font and color choice! I love your english-french place mat, especially the part that says :
vacation – vacances
summer – ete
go – aller
That means – it’s summer, vacation time, just goooo!!!
Have a good day! I already do.
Sidi
P.S. 6 weeks for the chairs??? I find it a little bit too long!
Shannon (The Daily Balance) says
wonderful evening! lovin the business cards, too!
Lauren says
I’m craving Kashis now – have you tried the asiago crackers? I love ’em all!
I actually didn’t even finish Elizabeth, The Golden Age. I usually enjoy period films like that, but for some reason, this movie just didn’t captivate me.
Courtney (The Hungry Yogini) says
I love the new cards! Very cute.
Hope yoga was great. Pigeon is perfect for soreness in theat, err, area. =)

Lili says
oops not sure why I typed a Y at the end of your name, sorry. 🙁
Faye says
I love the back of the card with your logo. I agree with Nate (#21)- I think you deserve to give yourself a snazzy title! And maybe I missed it- but are you heading to New Orleans for your bro-in-law’s graduation? I’d love to suggest some great places to grab healthy/not so healthy/must try New Orleans food and drinks! Although most Tulane grads have a good idea of what good drinking is like….
K says
Nice new cards!! I haven’t tried that variety of Kashi cracker. I’ve had the roasted veggie one and it was too salty for me. Honey sesame sounds amazing though!
Heather Spears says
So love the business cards! Your soup looks fab.
Amanda @ Cakes and Ale says
Glad to see you are enjoying your time off – it must feel great!
Somewhat related question: what stick blender do you use? I’m looking to buy one, but I wanted to see if anyone had one they recommended…
Melissa says
I really like the business cards!! Makes me want my own although I’m not sure that would be a neccesity for my small blog. LOL
I just saw those crackers in the store. I left them there cause I tend to eat the whole box in a coupe sittings…
Kara says
Mmm half pigeon is the best!
