I had a last-minute project come in that I finished yesterday, but otherwise my to-do list is clear. I don’t want to schedule anything – even a walking date with a friend or appointment – just because I don’t want to have to cancel anything if labor happens! Of course I’m not simply sitting around twiddling my thumbs; I’m just not making plans and doing what feels right in the moment.
I’ve had a few rounds of what I guess is false/early labor. Contractions that are intense and different feeling than my usual Braxton Hicks, but they don’t really hurt or form a regular pattern. They say every contraction you have is productive, even if you’re not in active labor, so I’m happy every time one happens. “I’ll know when I know” it’s the real thing!
Breakfast vibes:
I walked downtown on Monday and went to a prenatal class at Bend. I wish I had gone to more classes there throughout this pregnancy, but the scheduling just didn’t quite match up, and I was in the mood for higher intensity exercise until lately. I hope I’m able to take Baby B to some of their mommy + me classes like I did with Mazey. They have some great offerings.
Afterwards I went to The Juice Place and got a Vacation juice and this delicious caprese pesto panini!
Thomas smoked a pork butt on Sunday, and we had that for dinner along with homemade fries and slaw. I love that he loves to smoke things for Sunday dinners! Makes meal planning that day easy : )
On Monday night we went out for what we hope was our final date night to Lampo, one of my very favorite Cville restaurants. We shared the small-but-mighty kale salad and the marinated olives.
Plus two pizzas, half of which came home with us for lunches. The Prosciutto pizza in the back with lemon and arugula is my favorite!!
Who knows – we might have several more dates nights left. I’m OK with that because it’s something we won’t be able to do for a while! I really want to see “A Star Is Born” too…

Oooh what if you go into labor during “A Star is Born” LOL!! Also, I know having two kids is expensive, but PLEASE don’t eat Mazen for Monday dinner. Have the pizza instead. 😉

Haha – what did I say? I can’t find it : )

I had my baby girl last November, so I was also quite pregnant last year around this time… I feel SO excited/in so much anticipation for you, because I remember so vividly what that was like for my last year. My daughter was due the Saturday after Thanksgiving (but of course was almost a week late anyways), so I left the office on Tuesday before Thanksgiving so.ready. to be on call every stinking minute and ready to alert the family Thanksgiving was off, haha. Also, I had SO much early/false labor that it was very confusing the first time around whether or not I should be going to the hospital, but now that I’ve been on the other side of REAL labor, it’s almost laughable – what we didn’t know as first-timers, right?! Truly you’ll know when you know, haha! Anyways, I log in here every day excited along with you to see if you’ve gone into labor or not yet. We’re still coming out of the early/hard days (10.5 MO), but even just seeing you pregnant/vicariously reliving the anticipation and excitement is already making me nostalgic for my itty-bitty newborn. Not quite ready to say ready for #2, but definitely “jealous” haha. Wishing you the best for labor and delivery, with healthiness all around.

I love reading your prebaby posts! I am due tomorrow and feel you on this waiting period and not putting anything on the schedule. One of my last things I wanted to do was see A Star is Born (we got to see on Sunday) so I feel like my checklist and work is complete… you should definitely see it ASAP before the baby if you haven’t! Good luck with everything and maybe our babies will be born the same day!
KathEats says
Good luck to you too!!! Send me a message when yours comes : ) I’m tempted to just go see the movie in the daytime while Mazen is in school but I don’t want to see it without Thomas who is working up a storm this week. We’re going on Saturday if the baby isn’t here yet!

You have to get to A Star is Born before the baby gets here! Go to the Alamo where you can recline in the seats. SO comfortable and the movie is great!

And the chocolate chip milkshake!!
