You’ve got to be kidding me!!!
Yesterday Matt was mowing the lawn in short sleeves – you can still see the grass lines!! Just a few weeks ago I was running in shorts and a t-shirt. Everything is in bloom. Crazy mixed up clouds!
It seems with the wintry mix my winter appetite has returned. The ole hibernation-induced decadent, voluminous bowl of oats:
The Wintry Mix
- 1/4 cup oat bran
- 2 tbsp oats
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 banana
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/4 cup pumpkin, stirred in at end (second-to-last can!!)
- Pinch salt
- Toppings: Lynda’s granola, coconut, Flying Squirrel PB Bright Eyed + Bushy Tail, butterscotch
Coffee coffee gimme!!
Half a mug
Brrrrrr!
Hangin’ out on the couch till further notice!
Holly @ The Runny Egg says
Oh no!!! I really hope we are done with the snow now — we’ve had a few sprinklings here and there but enough is enough!
I do love how that bowl looks against the snow though — how beautiful!
Michele @ Healthy Cultivations says
Oh my! More snow. I just said this has been the LLLOOOOOONNGEST winter ever! Spring is bursting forth where I am, but it’s pretty cold today.
Angie @ Musings of a Violet Monkey says
Wow! Snow again.
I had hoped we were done with it here in Charlotte… but you NEVER know, do you? 🙂
Enjoy hangin’ out on the couch… sounds like something I should look into today, too.

Sarah (Running To Slow Things Down) says
Woah! I can not believe that you are having snow while we have absolutely none up here in New England. That hardly ever happens!
Your oats are absolutely gorgeous though! Such pretty pictures. 😀
staceyhealthylife says
Snow, that’s crazy. Your breakfast makes me feel like were back in January. Come back spring.
Abby says
You’ve got to be kidding me is right! I woke up to a sheet of ice! lol. Those oats looks so good. Pumpkin=my favorite! 😀
Natalia - a side of simple says
Whoa! I totally thought I was at the wrong blog. Snow where you are!? I’m surprised! We had a storm earlier this week but we’re a good deal further North than you are. Well, it’s a lovely excuse to stay in, stay warm, and laze about on a Sunday 😉
Molly says
I just double checked outside in Northern Illinois: sunshine, no snow. Whew.
Khushboo says
Wow that snow is gorgeous! It’s extreme temps in the opposite direction here! So hot it feels like a sauna! I would love to jump into that pile of white goodness right about now!
A Teenage Gourmet (Sami) says
This photo shoot reminds me of OhSheGlows’ carrot cake oatmeal post . . . which I LOVED yesterday morning. Beautiful!
Samantha says
Whoa! Are you restocking on pumpkin before it’s gone? Or do you think they’ll have it year round this time?
XO
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
Wow we didn’t even get snow here! I’m hoping I’ve seen the last of it.
Amanda (The Nutritionist Reviews) says
Oh my goodness! Snow.
Mara @ What's for Dinner? says

Snow!? Woah! You live in a crazy land :/
Stacy @ Every Little Thing says
That happened here in St. Louis yesterday! I also hung out on the couch haha
I hate it!
MonsteRawr says
Ach, the same thing happened here! Lovely days in the 40s, then suddenly snow. Now the temperature struggles to get above freezing. I am sooooo beyond over it! I’d kill for some weather in the 40s.
Cindy says
That’s what I’m saying! No snow yet, but Wednesday it was 80 and Thursday it was 32! Crazy weather.
Nancy~The Wife of a Dairyman says
Well at least it’s a beautiful setting for that gorgeous bowl! Sorry about your spring teaser….it’s always difficult when winter returns after sunny, warm weather. It’s raining, STILL in CA also….
Ashley says
OH my gosh!! I was shocked by your photos!!!!
Heather says
Crazy weather! We had snow last week.
Where is the warm, spring weather?!?
Sable@SquatLikeALady says
Ugh I KNOW right, what a freakin’ tease! We just got dumped on here in Montana too. I want spring back!
Danielle says
In Dallas we were swept by a cold front yesterday. It is in the 50’s this morning. A nice change from Thursday’s high 80s. Soon summer will overtake the South and I will be longing for these temps, so I am trying to enjoy them.
Jennifer says
I know!! We’ve been getting snow since Friday. 🙁
I love that bowl though…where is it from? (I don’t know if there is an easy way to find out by clicking on something LOL)
KathEats says
Homegoods
Alaina says
I love Homegoods bowls! That’s where I got my orange and white square bowl too. Such a great find! I’m done with this snow too! I can’t wait for TX where it’s 80* 🙂

The snow! I’m sooo glad I think it’s over in Atlanta. We did have some crazy storms yesterday though (thankfully AFTER my race!).
At least it’s pretty… and your lawn is mowed. 🙂
J3nn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) says
I thought this was an older post at first! Crazy weather! 😯 Same here in upstate NY; the week before, 70F. Then, we had snow again this week. Sigh.
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
THIS is exactly what it looks like here in Ontario! All of our snow had almost melted by Tuesday then BAM! On Wednesday we got a complete white-out and there is TONS now! It’s supposed to warm up and I’m hoping everything will melt and that will be the end of it. To think I had my spring jacket out last week!!
Katie @ Nourishing Flourishing says
Noooo!!! Ugh. Oh well, perhaps an excuse to cuddle up on the couch and take a day off! 😉
Ashley @ Feeding Ashley says
Wow! That’s a lot of snow (at least for where I live). It’s cold here too. I hope spring comes back. 🙁
Katie @ running4cupcakes says
The weather has been like that here in MN too. The silver lining (or is it the snow lining) is that the snow made for some awesome breakfast pictures! Love them. Also, your dinner last night looked awesome. How fun.
Jess (Sweet Potato) says
Wow! Look at that snow! Ga-ross!
Stacey (The Home-Cooked Vegan) says
Ohmygosh! I bet you woke up and were like “Whaaa??” I can’t believe you guys have snow again! It’s been so nice out lately 🙂

Shannon @ My Place In The Race says
Holy cow! It’s so pretty though! It got really chilly here the last few days too. Last Saturday it was well over 80 and sunny. Yesterday we stayed in the 40s with insane thunder storms. Geez… Hopefully this is the last cold snap. Have a great day! 😀

Was pretty shocked to see SNOW behind and under your breakfast ?! Old mother nature doesn’t know ‘weather’ its spring or winter… High of 57* here today, but supposed to be 85* on Wed ?!?!? I’d like a little spring before summer… ?
AnneWF says
It is pretty though.
Meg says
Oh my…that’s a scary sight ha! We were supposed to get snow but it’s sunny…I’m so confused.

Nicole @ Vegan in the House says
Ugh! That snow is depressing!
Wendy says
I hear ya. Last Sunday I got a bit sunburnt on a 13 mile run in 80+ degree temps. This Sunday? Waiting for the SEVEN inches of snow we got yesterday to melt away some so I can go to the grocery store!
Caitlyn (The Spoonful of Life) says
The bright red and white bowl is very appropriate for your snowy weather! I just came back from Colorado where it was 50* in Denver, but below 30* and snowing in the mountains! So confusing!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I think it is beautiful! It snowed again here too- the mountains are covered–lovely 🙂 Oats is a great way to start the day–that’s how mine began as well.
Kate says
I know, craziness! It looks like you got a lot, from my window it just looks like the cars and trees are dusted, there’s no snow on the ground. Of course that’s after a few hours above freezing.
I’ve been reading your blog for a few week now- I love it! It’s so fun to read about C’Ville in blogworld : )
Mom says
Freezing cold here in NC too. We stood outside after church and chatted with people. By the time I got home and tried to type, my fingers wouldn’t move.
Katy (The Singing Runner) says
What the heck? What is up with the weather!?!?!?!
Emily @ Savory and Savage says
I can’t believe you are still getting snow 🙁
On the positive side – it did make the pictures of your breakfast turn out stunning.
Stay inside and keep warm 🙂
Lauren @ChiGalLauren says
No way!! That is something that would happen here in Chicago, luckily it hasn’t. Hopefully it melts soon!
Namaste Gurl says
WOw, looks like the west coast cold front moved towards your way. I’m not sorry about that:)
Gina says
I have the same cherry blossom plate set. TJ Maxx, I believe?
Ugh, this weather is so annoying. It was 31 degrees here this morning. I’m not amused!
Emma (Namaste Everyday) says
I think it looks beautiful! Spring is right around the corner, snow just wants to remind you that it can come and cover the world in magic at any moment! (I’m scared the pumpkin is running low! Aaah!
Lauren says
Ah, this totally threw me for a loop. I had to go back and make sure I was in the right month on your blog. Thought I might have accidentally hit the archive button.
Well, at least it won’t last long. Oh March!!! 🙂

Snow?!?! Penny wants to come play!!
Lisa says
I love the contrast of the red bowl and the white snow.
Sorry you guys are getting more snow! I’m ready for summer!
Andy says
It has been a crazy winter and spring! I hate it when all the beautiful blooms get frozen and turn brown – it’s just not right! At least your bowl is nice and colorful! I’ve been looking for some new mugs and I really like the white one in these photos! Do you remember where you got it?
KathEats says
It’s from Homegoods
Katie G. says
Great photos!! That reminds me, I have one can of pumpkin left, I need to use it up. Maybe in the form of muffins or in oatmeal…yum
