Started my day yesterday with this smoothie made with the usual suspects: banana, oats, Pitaya (the color!), oats, yogurt and milk. When we wake up, I usually ask Mazen what he’s in the mood for for breakfast. Smoothies and pancakes are at the top of the list!
He’s in summer camp this week, so we were out of the house at 8:30. I came home to work for a bit and then headed to my friend Lauren’s Glam Studio for a Mary Kay makeover! She wanted to test out a new look on me, so I happily volunteered.
Girlfriend knows her make up! I loved my eyes – I needed some tips in how to layer on the colors!
From there I went to pick up Mazen and then we went to the gym for a noon workout. The Sayas got to have lunch together at a little table – lunch date! Sarah and I did Vanessa’s 1pm tabata class, which is a 30 minute total-body workout. Short but sweet!
I packed some leftover quinoa and kidney beans for a light lunch – ate a little before and a little after before heading home.
Plus M and I shared a peach back at home!
We played together all afternoon, including a trip to Whole Foods for our groceries. He’s such a good helper these days wanted to push the cart and load the car for me! (sort of 🙂 )
We made another stop at Toys R Us because I had to buy a new baby monitor. Three years later and ours finally croaked – the sound is too spotty to work now. I called Motorola and tried to buy just a new parent unit, but they have updated everything to digital now, so I had to buy a whole new setup. I went with this one, if you’re curious, which is the newer version of ours. It’s a great monitor and I forgive it for dying on me after 3 years of continuous daily use and abuse.
For dinner we had an AMAZING sable fish we got at our farmer’s market. It was topped with mustard and panko and baked for 20 minutes. Served with asparagus! This was the best fish ever! Beer for carbs : )
Happy Hump Day!

That smoothie is beautiful!
I have a question. What “model” of silverware do you have? I love it!
KathEats says
It’s the Luna line from Pottery Barn

Our Motorola is dying too!! I am so sad. We bought an additional camera too when baby #2 was born ten months ago. Now the parent unit spontaneously decides not to turn off or on. It’s like the button has a short or something. I guess what you said makes sense, we use it multiple times a day and all night every night, so I suppose 2.5 years is probably a good life. I had just hoped it would last longer! You’ll have to let us know how the new one works out.

and i have a goofy question but when you say the “sayas” when you talk about Mazen and his little friend, what does that mean? I have always wondered! haha
XOXO

It’s their nickname for each other…from when Mazen couldn’t say Sylvia!

Ooh sable fish? That sounds kind of good. And peaches are just perfect right now. 🙂

Mustard on fish? That’d a good idea to use up my mustard. I almost never use it.
