Good merry morning!!
Santa and I were both out and about late last night. He was flying high over Cville in his sleigh while I was on my way to CVS for Tamiflu. Matt was crushed by the flu yesterday and is totally out of commission. Poor guy.
I slept on an air mattress underneath the Christmas tree, which was kind of fun!
Around 6am I heard some crunching and peeked open an eye to see this sight!!
An hour later, Mazen awoke to find a pile of toys from Santa! And guess who was in the mix? JAMES!!!!
We’ve been slowly opening family gifts all morning too – Mimi and Papa sent a medical kit that has been a big hit. And some yummy pumpkin lager soap!
Matt and I gave Mazen the Peppa Pig family! He LOVES Peppa Pig!
My parents are here – a last minute decision. We are glad they came to make everything more jolly! Mom brought her famous breakfast cinnamon hot milk cake, which we enjoyed with eggs and pears.
Santa brought sunshine in addition to presents – happy day!

Merry Christmas! Would your Mom be willing to share the recipe for her cinnamon cake–looks delicious!
Mom says
My recipe is in my old Fannie Farmer, but here it is, doubled. I make half this and put it into a nine inch round pan.

It’s called “Hot Milk Cake.” I melt butter for the top and then dust it with cinnamon mixed with sugar. My mom made it too and says it’s important not to let the milk get boiling hot.
Been making it for years. When the kids were little, to be silly, I tinted the batter for holidays. Light green for St. Pat’s Day, etc.

Do you put melted butter and cinnamon sugar on top after you take it out of the oven, while it is hot? How much butter?
