How many times have you heard that phrase this morning? For me, three (radio is on). I laugh every time!
Love strawberries this time of year!! I am hoping to pick-your-own this weekend or next week. I can’t miss it this year! I want to make a strawberry pie! I made one in 2002 after strawberry picking – my first pie ever – and it was delicious!
The strawberries were featured over a bowl of yogurt with banana, Oh’s and Cville Cluster.
Crunch, slurp!
Today is FIRST Friday and Fridays After Five and Brews with a View at Second Street Gallery! A big night ahead! It better not rain…
Krissy @ Shiawase Life says
have a wonderful friday, kath! 😀 hope you can go and pick burrries soon!
Andrea says
Yum! I can’t wait to pick-your-own strawberries this season! I live in IL and I don’t think they’ll be ready until the end of the month, but I can’t wait! I’ll likely end up going overboard and buy 15 pounds, but so worth it 🙂 Have a great 4th!
Caroline @ After Dinner Dance says
It took a me a few minutes to realize that phrase is likely a star wars reference – I’m slow this morning!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
it took me WAY too long to get that phrase…
Angel7 says
I have never made a strawberry pie, or even a pie for that matter. My husband would really like it if I learn how to make a pie.
By the looks of the sky, I think that rain is in the forecast. That is okay, though, because we had a gorgeous day yesterday. But I wish we would have more consecutively sunny days in a row.

Lindsay @ Fuel My Family says
we have been strawberry picking for a couple weeks now and did again yeterday. Love having fresh strawberries on my cereal! can’t wait for blueberry picking in a month or so!

It’s pouring in Atlanta this morning and my son is supposed to have 8th grade day outside all afternoon. I’m hoping the sun makes an appearance soon! Enjoy your day Kath!
Becca says
The strawberries really have been great. I want to go strawberry picking and select my own. I always say I’m going to do this but never do!
chris says
Morning Kath, so glad Karen felt a kick! Felt Jess’ baby kick for the first time yesterday. We went out to a Thai/sushi place last night and had an interesting conversation about raw fish and pregnancy; any thoughts?
KathEats says
Fun!
I would not eat raw fish because you don’t have to – you can have sushi with the cooked kind. That said, if I went to an Asian country right now, I might try it. But not here in the USA unless it’s a REALLY reputable restaurant.
chris says
Thanks! My sentiments exactly. She ordered a cooked roll (teriyaki shrimp) and we all breathed a sigh of relief 🙂 The restaurant is owned by a Top Chef, PM, and I think the chef’s name is Arnold Mint.
Cait's Plate says
Oooh – any recommendations as to places where you can pick in NC?? I would love to do that!
KathEats says
I don’t remember the name, but it was in Mooresville
Cait's Plate says
Awesome, thanks 🙂
Kaitlyn says

Love your linens! Where do you get them? Just anywhere? I was thinking I would go to a Goodwill…
KathEats says
Anywhere. This was my grandmother’s! Target has good tea towels too
mary @ minutespermile says
I looked at Target, but only in their placemat section- tea towels is a better bet! Thanks.
KathEats says
Tea towels are where it’s at!
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
That’s funny – I made my first pie in 2002 too! Mine was blackberry. There’s even a pic of me with it. Little did I know it would turn into a cooking obsession. 🙂
~Christy @ wonderofallthings says
Sounds like a big day — so awesome to live in such an active community! Beautiful breakfast is making me hungry!!! Have a great time tonight 🙂
Belinda says
Kath, I’m sending this post to my husband. He thinks “May the 4th Be With You” is funny, too. I think I heard him say it several times this morning before he left for work.
The strawberries in your cereal bowl look delicious! Have a lovely day…and May the 4th be with you!
Susan H. @ The Food Allergy Chronicles says
I am almost out of my homemade freezer strawberry jam…can’t wait for strawberry season too! Never made a strawberry pie…I will have to try that! Thanks for the idea! Speaking of rain…we had the most gianormous thunderstorm last night…thunder lightening and teaming rain. Woke up this morning to a thick fog and humidity…it’s like mother nature just turned on summer time! Believe me…I am not complaining!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
I’m dying to get some strawberries at the market this weekend! Yours look delicious. As for the whole 4th-be-with-you thing, I think I’ve heard it at least 5 times this morning. Have a great day Kath!
Ashley @ Coffee Cake and Cardio says
Strawberries are the BEST!!! I love having them with breakfast!
Lauren says
Today is my son’s second birthday. He was “this close” to being named Jedi or Obi Wan, but we came to our senses 😉
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
Sounds like you have a fun friday ahead! So far I’m only at 2. If I was at work today, I’m pretty sure that’s ALL I would hear..
Chelsea @ Designs on Dinner says
Ha ha, I had to give in to the whole “May the 4th be with you as well.” I’ve never made a strawberry pie before, but it sounds delicious. Maybe a strawberry-rhubarb combo is in my future….A very happy Friday to you!
Averie @ Averie Cooks says
I can’t believe it’s Fridays After Five time of year…where did this past year go? It flew by!
Mom says
Very clever title to this post. I don’t see how you come up with them again and again!
KathEats says
I just heard it on the radio! Not original!
Andrea @ The Skinny Chronicles says
I love fresh strawberries this time of year! Nothing better!
Alyssa (wholefoodhappy) says
What are cville clusters?
KathEats says
Granola from our bakery
Cindy Love Childers says
Hey Kath! How do I get a hold of this Cville (Charlottesville?) Clusters. I googled it earlier today but didn’t find it. Is this just something y’all sell in your Bakery or can we buy it online? I would LOVE to try it! Cindy
KathEats says
Yeah, it’s a granola we make at the bakery. We have sold them online via OpenSky at times, but it’s not something we can have on sale full time
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
