Today’s been so chill!
Matt and I worked back to back on our computers all morning and then we set out on a run.
Gatorade in the Camelbak and sun behind the clouds. It was an awesome run!! Sadly Matt slept wrong on his neck and had to stop and walk while I continued the run. I ended up looping back and finding him and walked in the last bit. I ran 6 miles and walked 0.67. It was the longest [and fastest] I’ve ran since my half. I thank the Gatorade and cloudy weather! And I always run my best a few hours after breakfast.
I came home red raced and sweaty though, and we took quick showers and joined Caitlin + Kristien and Kate + Nate for an impromptu late lunch (I think golf was involved too!?)
Had two of these cute appetizers – cuc, hummus and cracker!
We brought over some lettuce and beans to contribute to this awesome spread!!
I had Caitlin make a wrap for me [containing beans, cheese, salsa and lettuce] and wrap it up like she does so well. It’s fun to have bloggers make the foods you see on the internet 😉
Like these chips that she also loves to eat!
And does feta make it beta? Yup! I’ve always loved Athenos’s flavored kinds – this was Tomato + Basil (yay Summit sponsors!!)
Guess who made the awesome fruit salad? Kate! The Salad Queen.
After lunch we had some crazy conversations about childbirth and placentas (Kate’s growing baby was the spark!)
Lots of dog playing ensued
I found a Bear to play with!!
Just hanging out now. It’s nice to just relax for once 🙂
Freya @ Brit Chick Runs says
I’ve always admired Caitlin’s wrap-making skills – mine NEVER look that good! She has raw talent, blates 😛
Stacey @ Tipping the (Kitchen!) Scales says
Too true – mine are absolutely awful but Caitlin’s always look so professional!!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
Looks like a great day! Nothing better than friends, food and talk of placenta! Love the hummus, cucumber and crackers combo. That sounds tasty. Enjoy the rest of your day!
Dorry says
I’m going to have to duplicate those cute appetizer crackers!
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
relaxing is so great, right? i’m so glad you guys finally have a chance for relaxation…you deserve it!
christina cadden says
Look like lots of fun!
Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run] says
I love S-berries in my salad – mmm.
I actually have a very unique story about my own placenta, but I don’t know if I want to go there… 😉
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
Those wraps are perfect. Mine never stay together!
Stacie @ Imperfectly Healthy says
Childbirth is just so interesting, ha! Seriously though, it’s a little like an alien concept for me since I haven’t had kids — so the weird facts keep me enthralled. Especially shows like, “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant”. It’s like, what?!
Rosey Rebecca says
The food spread looks delicious. I know what you mean about having bloggers make you food you see on the internet. I went to a blogger potluck brunch yesterday @thenheathersaid ‘s apartment. So much awesome food!
Camille says
Haha, I bet the boys loooved that conversation 🙂
Stacey@http://stacey-healthylife.blogspot.com/ says
I love Sunday’s sounds like you are having the perfect one.
Stacy says
I have a question for anyone with a DSLR. How do you carry your DSLR if you’re out for the day? I have a camera case, but its so bulky that I hate to carry it in addition to a purse. Do you always bring the case or just pack it securely in a large purse?
caitlin says
i just keep it in my purse 🙂
Stacy says
Thanks! I’m so paranoid about making sure it’s not going to get hurt since it’s my first DSLR that I think I’m bit “overprotective” 🙂
Kath says
Me too! I have a cool camera bag that I use sometimes, but a lot of the time just in the purse.
Lisa @bakebikeblog says
What a fun evening! And what a great ‘spread’ of foods – delish!
Kerri @ Kerri Turns into a Zombie says
It looks like a friendly lunch. I want to try the hummus with cucumber apps.
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
That sounds like so much fun! It’s so cool that you and Caitlin are such good friends!
Amelia says
Looks like fun! Relax all you can before things get crazy with your move again. 🙂
Just wondering about the Folger’s coffee from breakfast…did you get any kind of funky headaches from it at all? Last time I tried one of their flavors I developed a wicked migraine about an hour after. I wonder if they have changed their flavorings at all?
Kath says
It was Starbucks??
Amelia says
Doh! Sorry about that. I think I must have looked at the picture and registered a different name. Their packaging is very similar. Whoops!
Ashley says
You and Matt look so natural with Maggie and James–I think you need a puppy when you move to Charlottesville! 🙂
Erin says
Looks like a relaxing afternoon–the best kind, especially shared with friends! 🙂
Ashley@thehungryscholar says
Got to love a relaxing day! Those appetizers look so good, but easy to make. I’ll have to write that down for my next party!
Cynthia (It All Changes) says
Such fun that you can all hang out before your final move.
Interesting conversation topics. Not exactly lunch convo but interesting I’m sure.
Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) says
Aww…love the pup shots! Magge and James are adorable as ever. 😀
What a fun spread of food (and fun guests too!!)
The Wife of a Dairyman says
mmm…that fruit salad looks really fresh and delicious 🙂 I just dropped my pup off at my parents for the week because we’re going on vacation and the photos of all the pups at your house makes me miss my baby already. Have a great evening.
Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter says
Caitlin definitely knows how to wrap a wrap! I’m horrendous at it.
Simply Life says

It’s nice to see you relaxing, too! You deserve lots of fun stress-free mometns like these 🙂
Julia @ www.britbride.com says
LOVE the way you say “I think golf was involved too” that was totally my attitude to the Open this weekend too. Everyone else was obsessed. I just ate the buffets!

Diana @ frontyardfoodie says
Seem like most conversations I have these days involve placentas, giving birth and pregnancy…..but that’s probably because everyone thinks I’m about to pop when I really have a month and a half left.
That food looks so colorful and cute!
Wei-Wei says
Aww, the dogs are so cute! I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again – it’s so weird to see my favourite blogs posting almost the same thing! 😀

Meagan says
Placentas! LOL. Should I mention that some women eat theirs, or is that bad to mention on a food blog? 🙂
Kath says
That’s what we were discussing!! Just didn’t want to say that on a food blog
