Lucky for me, the rain stopped for juuuuuust enough time to squeeze in a run!! With my latest spontaneous attitude towards getting wet in the rain, I bounced out the door and did a loopy 5 miler close to home – down all kinds of cul de sacs and circle roads. My goal was to hit 3 miles before the rain returned (per the Weather Channel Doppler) but I managed to get in 5.3! It was one of those times when I just kept running because I could.
Running is so fun when you don’t have to TALK to someone else!! : ) All of my miles were under 9 minutes today, which is huge for me in this crazy, loopy, hilly town.
We spent this morning at a coffee shop meeting and then at the bakery – finalizing our paint colors!!
We’re going for open, airy loft with splashes of bright warm colors. I wanted green everywhere, but it’s not warm enough for a food environment (even though the color is called Avocado!) so we settled for the bathroom and office.
Here’s a slideshow of the rest of the shots I took today! [Hope this new gallery feature works!]
We did some measuring for signage purposes too –
After my run I settled into a yummy lunch –
A Crazy Camel pumpkin hummus sandwich on whole wheat Cinnamon Chip with spinach – it was delish!!!
Plus a mish-mosh of Danielle’s chips. Just opened the sweet potato – YUM! They’re crunchy like banana chips not potato chips. I am loving all the flavors of these chips – but mostly the texture! They are coming to OpenSky soon!
Lastly, I had a pile of lightly microwaved veggies with some hummus for dipping
A strange combo, but good lunch! Hope it keeps me full…
Pink POM-spiked seltzer for a cocktail
I’m headed out, then back again. Still running in loops!
Jenny @ Fitness Health and Food says

I love watching your dream come together 🙂 You must be overwhelmed and excited! I am looking forward to when those chips pop into your Open Sky…might just have to splurge on them. They look so good! (Okra is my weakness 😉 )

“Watching your dream come together”.
I love that.
Do you usually steam veggies or eat raw? I love them but wondering if they’re contributing to a lot of discomforts!
E says
I love that, too! Reading about your dream coming together makes me feel optimistic for my dreams 🙂
Chelsea says
It is so cool to see all the construction coming together! It boggles my mind that you your goals are being reached with owning your own business, especially at a young age! And look how green your backyard looks….so jealous!

Love the Pea green bathroom!!!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
Yah congrats on having it come together. And nice job on the run–I LOVE running alone. It is kind of annoying to have to talk to someone while running, in my opinion 😉 Have fun doing the loops the rest of the day!
lynn @ the actor's diet says
i agree that too much green can be jarring – my husband wanted it everywhere in our house (his last name is GREENwald) but it was a bit much. felt institutional and i had to repaint a few walls!
those veggie chips sound so wonderful!

You two must be getting so excited. I have to say, as someone who’s in her early 30’s, it’s really wonderful to watch other young business owners. I love that we can really make change and have opportunities to do what we love to do.

wow – the bakery is all coming together so well! I love the colour choices!!!
Natalia - a side of simple says
I guess I thought because your shop is part of a much bigger “Great Harvest” that so many of these things would be picked out for you already (like paint, signs, etc.) Although it’s a lot of work choosing your own, it really is so great that you can customize so much! It’s really going to feel like your OWN Great Harvest, not just “another one.”
Chad says
I like the colots displayed 😛
kate@ahealthypassion says
Love the colors and that sandwich looks amazing! So excited for you and your bakery.
Caz says
Yum! lunch looks delish…
to be honest, I hate those slideshows. They re-fresh the entire page each time you hit next, and you need to scroll back down to see the photos. I never bother clicking through more than the first 2-3 photos. Just thought I’d let you know.
Cheers,
Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope says
Oh wow, that lunch looks incredible! Glad you were able to dodge the rain!
Atsuko says
I cannot wait to see the bakery! I also sometime prefer to run by myself because talking to a running partner makes me extra tired so quickly…
Do you listen to the music when you run? If so, what are your favorite running music?
KathEats says
Yes, I love all the latest pop hits. My mix is really old though – a year old actually. Lots of Glee covers!
Stacey (The Home-Cooked Vegan) says
Yay! I love it when a short run turns into a long one 🙂 Glad you were able to get one in! It’s been threatening rain and storms here all day, so I took my run to the treadmill 😉

Did you know the plural of “cul-de-sac” is “culs-de-sac”? Isn’t that crazy? The only reason I know this is because I saw it on a rerun of “Gilmore Girls”!
