There was lots going on at the City Market today!!
Crowds of people (and a poking out hot sun!)
Refreshments
Mint Limeade!
Lil’s Lite Bytes Morning Glory Muffin + Local Mushrooms in my purse + Hibiscus Tea sweetened with stevia and mint
Handmade breads served from this cute guy, plus muffins that spoke to children
There’s sumptin’ ‘bout a truck
A Locavore Expo as part of the Tom Tom Festival
Where vegetables were celebrated and consumed in Faith’s “Lettuce Turnip and Dance” video
Who needs birthday cake when you can celebrate with lettuce!?
The No Bull Burger ladies gave me a sandwich for lunch (and one for Matt – thanks!!)
And I concluded the day at a panel on local food in Cville
The best part of it all? Seeing about 25 friends and faces I knew!

That mint limeade sounds sooo refreshing! Especially to a Floridian like me who lives in a city where it’s already 90 + humidity! Thinking about replicating that this weekend…
Have a great Saturday!

Looks like such an amazing day! Especially that sandwich, mmmm. I’m glad you’re not letting the ridiculous controversy about GH at City Market get to you.

Love those delicious drinks, now I need lemonade, and all I have is the “pink lemonade” in a can that you add water to. So I will close my eyes , take a swig, and dream of a delicious mint limeade…
KathEats says
I used to eat that stuff plain in middle school – by dipping my tongue in it!! Kind of gross, but kind of good!
Alyssa (pb and oatmeal) says

Ashley says
I love Stevia!!! I use it all the time. however, I have heard mixed reviews for consumption during breastfeeding or nursing. have you read anything about it?

Kath, I had my plans. Leave the kid’s house in Blacksburg (He graduate Friday! yay him) at 8. Set the GPS (read my daughter mini-me) to the Great Harvest bakery so I can meet Kath and Matt and pick up some loaves and maybe have lunch. Yeah what was I thinking. I was lucky yo get off at exit 120 to get something to drink. The closest I got to you was Abbey Road Starbucks near Martha Jefferson Hospital. Note to self buy a real GPS and never let her by the navigator when you guys are open.
Maybe I can visit the kid this summer alone and come back in time to pick up a few things
KathEats says
Sorry we missed you!!
