We are getting some GLORIOUS weather over the next few days. I can’t wait!! I’m sipping coffee with my back door open right now listening to birds chirp!
Breakfast du jour: egg, grapefruit, toast with peanut butter, espresso.
Smoothies have been Mazen’s favorite lately. I always put banana, spinach, milk and Vega Coconut Almond in these days, and I’ll mix up the rest with peanut butter, berries, yogurt, oats, chia seeds and more. Leftovers always get turned into popsicles for quick healthy snacks!
I had sardine salad this week with carrots and Red, Hot and Blues. Best chips ever!
Here’s a working lunch! On the light side because I went to yoga right after. Carrots and homemade hummus, toast with peanut butter, grapes.
With all this great weather, I took Mazen out to lunch at Citizen on our first warm day. I had this amazing beet salad and some sweet potato fries. Mazen had a kiddie hamburger!
Did you know that I make an awesome human airport!? Mazen does ; )
Two delicious dinners: one in and one out! Chicken with tomatoes, rice, swiss chard, yogurt on top.
And a night out at Mas! I had a glass of wine, manchego and their famous bacon-wrapped dates and then my phone froze and I couldn’t take photos of the salmon, tuna and potatoes that arrived next! Yum!
Hope you guys are thawing out too!

Lately’s are my favourite posts! 🙂 My little nephew is 4 and half and on a massive smoothie kick as well at the moment, such a great way to get a load of nutrients in to them!

Smoothies have been my go to breakfast lately! What amounts of milk, fruit, protein powder, greens do you use in yours? Im still working on finding my favourite ratios. Thanks Kath!

I actually don’t measure so I just dump in what looks good. Sometimes they are super thick smoothies and other times they are runnier. I’d guess about 1.5 cups milk, 1 banana, 1 half scoop of Vega and a big handful of greens.

Love these Lately posts, but can’t help noticing that you never talk about Matt in recent posts. Or the sale of Great Harvest. Hoping you will address all of this soon, as we readers who have read for years are so invested in your well-being and everything you do!

Matt is good and the bakery is for sale! I have a post in the works

I was also really wondering if everything was ok with Matt since he has not been in or mentioned on the blog in awhile. Glad all is well.

Yes, I know it is your personal business so I feel bad piping in too, but since you have made your life so public for all of these years, it has been quite obvious that there have been a lack of posts about your marriage and husband lately. I was worried that Matt had to be taking care of his sick Mother, I hope Karen is feeling better and well on her way to recovery by now. Thank you for filling us in soon if you would, many people care about you out here in the internet world!

Oh my gosh, it has been amazing here in Chicago, in the 50s and 60s the past several days! We’re heading back into cold, but this is unheard of in March!! Hope your warm weather sticks!
