Another fun day is half over. Larbs and I went running (and rollerblading!) along the river this morning. She has knee trouble so she skated while I ran. I did a slow jog so we could talk and because I was feeling the effects of a late night and alcohol. I am never my best after those nights. We think we did about 5 miles total – I ran for just over an hour!
After showers, we set out for Newbury Street. I loved looking at all of the clothes and boutiques, but I permit myself to buy anything 🙁 Newbury is covered with darling outdoor cafes, all with scrumptious menus. Larbs and I choose Scoozi for its wide variety of salads and the available outdoor table. Larbs says she sees people drinking at all hours of the day – wine at 11 am, beers at 3pm, etc. but she never orders any. I wasn’t really in a wine mood, but then I remembered that this time next week I’ll be sitting in class, so we should order a glass as one last celebration.
For lunch I ordered a Mixed Greens Salad with Goat Cheese, Pecans, Shrimp Scampi, tomatoes and a fabulous Citrus Dressing! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect salad!
The shrimp were perfectly cooked!
After more browsing, we came back to our starting point: JP Licks! Everyone has been raving about it so I had to give it a try. WOW!! I had Oatmeal Cookie (of course I had to get the oatmeal one
) and Peanut Butter hard frozen yogurt. It was fabulous! No idea on the nutritional info, but I’m sure the fact that it’s frozen yogurt means it’s at least lighter than a comparable ice cream version in fat and calories.I shared about 25% (a lot of my PB flavor) with Larbs, as I didn’t want to be too full for dinner. (She got Chocolate Chip Cookie and Oatmeal Raisin).
We’re putting our feet up for a little bit before we head back out for the KERF Dinner. Can’t wait to meet some of you all!!

I have a new discovery for you and the husband to enjoy!!!! Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale. Yummy! Your mention of the fall weather in Boston made me think of it. They brew it from Sept- Nov, but I am going to try and find a case today. Cannot wait!
Enjoy your dinner tonight- I wish that I was there.

Ooh, the ice cream sounds deadly. Reminds me of the all time best Ben & Jerry’s flavor, Oatmeal Cookie Chunk. Not only is it the best B&J flavor, I think it’s the best ice cream flavor I’ve ever had.

I LOVE OATMEAL COOKIE CHUNK. Like, more than my husband. Well, almost. That stuff is WICKED. GOOD. They don’t sell it at my local B&J scoop shop anymore, though! 🙁
Where is the fun Boston blog reader dinner gonna be?

That salad looks wonderful! Goat cheese seems like an ingredient that would be good in Anything. Even (or maybe especially) a savory oatmeal!

Melissa P.,
I’ve had the Blue Moon Pumpkin – I love ALL pumpkin beers, but the Cottonwood Pumpkin Ale, a NC local, is my very favorite 🙂
