Another day, another delicious breakfast!
- Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup Kashi GoLean Crunch (which is slightly stale because it sat in my pantry for so long, but it’s still one of my favorites 🙁 )
- 1 tiny banana
- Pile of grapes
- Tbsp flax
- Salty peanuts + Cinnamon almonds
Half and half coffee – in more ways than one. The cream + a blend of two coffees (Dark Chocolate Coffee from OhNuts.com and Sea Island Coffee )
H+H does not froth as well as milk!
Matt is cooking eggs with BUTTER and our house smells SO GOOD!!!!

I’m off to shower and get all clean
before starting a day full of work. Nothin’ like labor on Labor Day!
Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) says
I’m always loving your breakfast combinations. 😀 And I agree, kashi golean crunch is one of the best.
I hope you have a productive labor day. 😉 I’m planning on getting a lot of homework, organization, and cleaning done this afternoon, after my morning run.
Happy Labor Day! 😀
Emily, homecookedem says
Kashi Go Lean is one of my favorites too! I love the grapes and peanuts combo… kind of like a grown up version of PB & grape jelly! 😉
Have a wonderful Labor Day!!!
brandi says
hope you have a good day! that breakfast looks great and those ROLLS last night looked amazing!
We need a Great Harvest here – you guys should move to Blacksburg instead of Charlottesville 🙂
Lizzy says
Breakfast is always a winner…love it! Hope you have an amazing day 🙂

Kashi Crunch is my favorite cereal! Other bloggers can keep their Puffins, I’m all about the Crunch 🙂
Holly says
Loved reading your honeymoon recap – I live in Santa Rosa and work in Sonoma, so it’s all familiar to me! 🙂
angieinatlanta says
I love the addition of salty peanuts! I read that and made a mental note to try that as soon as possible!
Courtney says
I just found a box of stale Kashi in my pantry too 🙁
I haven’t been eating cereal in about 6 months and I feel bad for wasting food. Might still mix it in yogurt though…won’t even be able to tell!
A little bit of butter for eggs is always the way to go…a little goes a long way and adds lots of taste!
Hope you get a lot done today.

Aw, your honeymoon looks awesome. DH and I are thinking about going to Sonoma for our 5 or 10 year anniversary. We went to Hawaii on our honeymoon and really loved it.
Julia says
Great breakfast! They don’t sell Kashi here (what DO they sell, ha ha), so I’m really curious about their products…
rachel says
oh i am itching to go to sonoma! it looks so stunning.

Have a great Labor Day!!

Since you’re a gmail / organization guru maybe you can help… how do you change the color of events on your gmail calendar? Thanks!
eliza says
just to elaborate: my goal is to have different events (school, personal, etc.) be different colors
Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope says
Considering I just got my wisdom teeth out a few days ago, all this crunchy food looks SOOOOO good! I’ve been surviving on mushy foods lately. I just love the neat combinations you come up with!
Daria (Summer of the CSAs) says
I hate it when cereal goes stale. I don’t want to waste it but I hate the taste.
Leianna says
Just read your guest honeymoon post, sounds like a fun experience! I’ve never done wine country or tastings!
kay (eating machine) says
mmm giant yogurt bowls of everything are fantastic
Shannon, The Healthy Beach Bum says
Love the honeymoon adventures and the wine tasting! Delicious breakfast 🙂
Cynthia (It All Changes) says
Fun Fun Fun! I wish I had the creativity you do when it comes to food. I’m a creature of habit and make the same thing over and over. Hence the reason I stopped taking pics of my food and started blogging about healthy living instead of food all the time.
I love that you are getting work done today. It doesn’t make me feel bad that I’m working today even though I lounged in bed a little longer. It’s nice to do work from home today instead of my office.
Enjoy the day!
Faith says
I love all the fruit and nuts in this morning’s oats combo! Your honeymoon sounds like so much fun, I would love to go to Sonoma!
mppaul2 says
Love your breakfast photos! I have to let coffee go for awhile as I try to get my iron levels up and caffiene inhits the absorption. I’m hoping when I retake the blood test in two months, I will get the all clear for my morning brew.
Food Maniac says
Every morning when I read your blog you make me so hungry and it’s not fair! Here I’m thinking I’ll get some work done this hour, and now I have to go make breakfast 🙂
Jenn says
I used to be a barista at a cafe, and in my experience, the less fat content in the milk, the better it foams. My theory is the heaviness of the fat content inhibits bubbles.
Have a wonderful holiday! :o)
BethT says
Love your honeymoon recap! I was in wine country last weekend and went to Barndiva – I LOVED IT. Any interest in going back on our wine country jaunt? 😉

Another breakfast inspired by your blog…eating greek yogurt, banana, Kashi Go Lean Crunch (yes THE best) and almond butter! This is delish!
About the coffee, not sure if you have mentioned this before but after spending time in bothe Spain and Italy (the best cafe EVER) I always warm my milk before adding the coffee…seems simple but makes a huge difference and it foams naturally as it bubbles as it heats. I use Non-fat but I agree a little more fat makes a difference. This Spring in Spain it was whole milk and real sugar…it was so good!
Courtney Worthington says
I still must be groggy this morning, but I laughed out loud when I thought you were eating a bowl of BEANS this morning. My brain.
AnnQ says
Love the recap of your Honeymoon….SO adorable! 🙂
Ali says
kashi = love, ’nuff saiddd
Sara says
That breakfast is an oatmeal impostor. 🙂 But looks perfectly cool for a fall kickoff breakfast — think the cinnamon is key in that. Bring on the nutmeg?! (Sometimes I add McCormick’s “Apple Pie Spice” to my oats for an autumn-spice taste.)
Liz says
Beautiful yogurt bowl! Have fun laboring on labor (i too have to labor: work, tons of HW) !
Jess says
I’ve never thought to pair grapes with cereal.

salty peanuts and cinnamon almonds? Sounds like a formula for the grinder to make a neat nut butter!

Hi my dear — good morning! and happy labor day! It’s a beautiful day in Palo Alto, and I’m all loosened up from my long run. So great to see your pictures and read the recap — so beautiful! I wish you all the best and hope that the fall brings you tons of good things. What are your goals this fall? What’s on the horizon this year? Take care and be well, Lucca.

Quick question: One of my local grocery stores just started carrying Sabra hummus. I recognized the name right away thanks to your blog! I picked up the Roasted Red Pepper but was debating on most of the other flavors. What flavor(s) have you tried and enjoyed?
Thanks!

That’s some mega-looking breakfast! I feel like a wimp when I see pictures of your oatmeal because I can only manage one-third of a cup of dry oats in the morning (not a very big morning appetite). One night, I am going to make a mega-oatmeal for dinner!
Laura @ Backstage Pass to Health & Happiness says
What a delicious looking breakfast! Isn’t the smell of eggs cooking, one of the best smells ever?
Cheers!

eliza,
You have to create a separate calendar for each category. Then each calendar gets its own color.
BethT,
You know it!! We need to start planning!
carolyn,
I usually warm my milk, but when I warmed the half and half it kind of separated on me. I guess I gave it too much power! I think I’m going back to milk next week…
Luc Alford,
Thanks!
AmandaD,
I haven’t tried many of the flavors, but I think the sun dried tomato??

I enjoyed reading your yoga post…and I think that I can definitely relate. Sometimes I find it hard to free my mind
of the constant thoughts that are going through my head. I know that you are supposed to relax and focus on your body’s movements, but most of the time I am thinking about my day and what needs to be done.
Oh Well! The yoga is still great.
