Once again, I have the coolest readers!!! I said I wasn’t going to name everyone, but I think I know them all!
Back row, L-R: Ryane, Sammie, Elina, Sarah, Sabrina, Larbs, Courtney, Brooke
Front row, L-R: Heather, Tina, Me
Thank you all for coming!!!
I had a hard time picking a red wine, so our server brought me a taste of 2 different kinds, plus I had some of Larbs’ beer!
I decided on a glass, but it wasn’t the best 🙁
For a starter, I had a green salad with dressing on the side. I dipped my fork in and basically cleared my plate of the greens
Courtney had the most delicious baked goat cheese with mushrooms and pita. She was nice to share, and I had one, plus more topping on a piece of bread with dinner. A.mazing!!!!
For dinner I ordered the Moroccan Stew with Couscous, Raisins and Goat Cheese. So did Sarah, Elina (onion hater like me!!) and Tina – it was a popular dish!! It was good because of all the yummy root veggies (parsnips, butternut squash, sweet potatoes) but it wasn’t the most amazing that I’ve had.
Brooke also shared one of her 3 rolls with me (she got them for her salmon being a few minutes behind). It was an excellent roll!
After dinner we moved to Beer Works, a bar with tons of different beers brewed locally (I believe). I had the hefeweizen – my favorite type of beer! It was quite a large beer and I was quite full when I finished.
More socializing!
The bloggers: Me, Sammie + Tina!
I had a fantastic time!
Sooooooooooooo tired – to the air mattress!

That soup looks incredible – I will definitely have to try to create something similar. I love the Moosewood cookbook called the Daily Special – it’s a whole book of soups and salads – maybe they’ll have some good ideas 🙂
Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in boston!

Where did you eat dinner? I live in the boston ‘burbs; I am an RD and am amazed how healthy you eat consistently! I work as a restaurant inspector for local boards of health.
Went to penn state for nutrition and then did my internship at Beth Israel in boston in 81.
Worked in corporate foodservice mgt and catering for a while and then had kids and now do the food safety thing.
Love food! Sorry I missed your visit. beth

Wow, that’s nice you had so many readers around you. Boston, so close to Montreal. Will you stop around any time soon?

Ohh, this looks fun! I saw that you tried the PB LARABAR, Kath. I had it in my lunchbox today. 🙂 I really liked it too. Have you tried the pistachio? It’s good, but has a much lighter flavor. I bought a coconut cream pie but haven’t eaten it yet. LARABAR is getting to creative with the flavors! 😀

beth ,
We ate at Z Square Cafe at Kenmore Square. It was good, but not fantastic. Maybe you can join us next time! Brooke is an RD too and it was fun to talk to her.
Sami ,
I don’t think I’ve had Pistachio yet – guess I need to get one! I haven’t spotted Coconut Cream Pie since it’s as new as the PB. Maybe I’ll see it here before I leave.
sarah ,
Thanks for sharing the info!
Ali ,
That would be So fun. Maybe the Food Network could sponsor me to eat in all the cities of the US or something.

The meet-up looks like a great time… plus the food looks really good.
I love that dress you’re wearing, Kath. Did you get it at Ann Taylor Loft? I think I may have tried it on there once… it looks familiar.

I love hefeweisse. My parents live in Bavaria and they make the most amazing beer there. You’re right, it is VERY filling. They serve it in big .5 liter glasses there and one is all I can handle.

It looks like dinner was fun. It’s great you have been able to meet so many readers in your travels. I just wanted to say I really love Boston- I have been there several times and i always really enjoy it. It has the benefits of a city but feels like a small town to me- and there is a lot of good food! Glad to see you enjoying it!
Elina says
It was so much fun! I agree with your review of the stew, Kath 🙂 Pretty good, but not the best. It naturally had no onions, though, so I give them brownie points for that 🙂
Oh, I got a txt from my sister this morning, saying this: “You’re a celebrity; I see you on Katheats.” Haha 🙂
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Boston! -Elina
