If you want a homey feel and fantastic food, The Old Hotel is where to go. The owners are so very nice. And we slept SO well in our piles of comforters and flannel sheets. It’s only too bad that we had to be up early to get on the road!
But before we left, a gourmet breakfast!
Strong locally roasted coffee sure beats hotel pots!
The bread basket with apple butter and jam.
Notice that we both dove for the butter first! Matt has taught me how much butter enhances bread. Just a thin layer on mine – he slathers it on!
While waiting for our breakfast to arrive I taught Matt to do the smiling frown
The ultimate MOM face
I think he’s got it?
To eat we turned down smoked salmon eggs benedict and crepes for what we really wanted: oatmeal and yogurt. But fancified!
The oatmeal was served with hot buttery sweet apples and upon our request – a bowl of peanut butter!!
The yogurt – perfectly plain – had maple, blackberries and a croissant
We took a big bite out of this bad boy but I was more into the yogurt – for real.
Matt and I shared both dishes because we couldn’t decide which was better. I am now stuffed with my two favorite breakfasts and dressed for some snowshoeing! We’re off to Bozeman for the rest of the weekend. Can’t wait to return!
Maria @ The Fitted Apron says
Plain yogurt yum!

is that why bread & butter taste so good together? the butter enhances the bread? interesting!
Evan Thomas says
The breakfast spread looks delicious. I love it when a place goes the extra mile and answers individual requests. I always ask for a little bowl of peanut butter when we go to brunch and they never fail me.

Camille says
I love B&Bs! Great owners make the experience so much better. I was at a B&B in Edinburgh, Scotland and the owners were two of the nicest people I have ever met. They made me a special breakfast every morning because I am a vegetarian and they told me to call them if I needed anything when I was in London and they would drive down and help me. How sweet is that!?
Michele @ Healthy Cultivations says
Sometimes, a little oatmeal and yogurt can seem to solve the problems of the world. And the photo of the flowers is beautiful.
