It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!?
Delicious warm cinnamon raisin oats on a chilly morning.
I took home a bag of our Great Harvest mix last night. It’s Oats, raisins, cinnamon, dried milk and a pinch of salt, all in one. Totally scrumptious!
Only a bit sweeter than my tongue usually likes – banana should have been left out!
Topped with Carrot Raisin Walnut muffin and sunflower buttah
And served with the new Republic of Tea Red Velvet Cake tea that Sara gave me! It’s made with rooibos and was delicious! Especially when topped with foamy milk and cinnamon
Happy Fall Holidays!
[And I’m really hoping to be able to say happy birthday to Baby Malone!]
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says

Salt in the oats mixture is a good idea – I always forget about adding a pinch to mine but it really does bring the flavor out.

It makes me feel so weird to hear you talk about fall while I live in Houston and it only JUST got below 85*F this week! This morning we walked the kids to school and were attacked by mosquitoes the whole way. It finally rained here about two weeks ago and since it was so incredibly dry all year, the mosquitoes had been “hibernating” until now – they’re aggressive little buggers, too! Enjoy the fall weather! I miss it. (not a native-Houstonian)
Angel7 says
A good breakfast to warm the tummy on a fall day!

But all I do not unfortunately have right now. 🙁
Will just settle with my Sbux Cafe Misto with 2 pumps of classic syrup and banana.

Today is a great day to have a birthday! My sweet baby is turning one today!! Unfortunately, he has a fever and what is looking like a stomach bug. Ugh!! The good thing is that he doesn’t know it is his birthday and we will just celebrate another day.
I clicked the link to Baby Malone’s mama’s blog and hope for her sake he is born today!! Being overdue is no fun!
KathEats says
Missed you today! Hope your little one feels better soon
Taya says
I’ve been contemplating that tea for a while, but since it’s a little pricey, I haven’t tried it yet! I’m glad you like it though – I think I’ll finally go out and buy some!
Cathy says
Happy Friday Kath. Just curious, do you add a sweetner to your tea? I use Truvia and wanted your “RD” opinion. THanks so much.
KathEats says
I don’t add anything. I just don’t feel that any of the sweeteners on the market are worthy of my consumption on a daily basis. I use Stevia in the Raw on occasion if I have a tea as a dessert
Cathy says
Thanks Kath. I appreciate your thoughts on this matter. Have a fabulous week end. <3
Jillian says
Isn’t Truvia just stevia?
Cathy says
Yes it is. So….I think it is okay to use.
~Christy @ wonderofallthings says
There’s the latte! So pretty…and rooibos is fantastic. I, too, enjoy the GH Cinn Raisin Oatmeal. 🙂
J3nn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) says
That oatmeal mix sounds tasty! It seems Christmas is coming earlier and earlier every year. 🙁
Health Bee says
I love your breakfast photos, especially photo #5. The tea sounds delicious too.
Zoe @ loseweightandgainhealth says
We Brits are renowned tea drinkers. But tea connoisseurs do not add any milk at all as they believe it stops you tasting the delicate flavours. Most regular tea drinkers add a little milk but to my way of thinking, a tea with frothy milk is a complete no no. However, I am always open to trying new things and would like to give it a go. How do you prepare your frothy tea and does that work with any tea?
KathEats says
There are definitely wonderful teas that are best sipped straight to fully enjoy the flavors.
Then there are those that need a dumping of milk to taste better 🙂
I have a $2 frother from IKEA that foams the tea
Zoe @ loseweightandgainhealth says
Thank you, but I meant do you make a concentrated amount of the and add frothy milk in the same way you make a latte by adding frothy milk to an Espresso. Or do you make tea with mainly water and a little milk and then froth that?
KathEats says
The second! Make tea as normal. Froth about 1/4 cup milk. Dump on top of tea.
Zoe @ loseweightandgainhealth says
Thanks. I will try that tomorrow. With an egg with smoked paprika on top which sounds great.
Alaina says
What a delicious looking breakfast! And I am intriqued by that red velvet tea! I’m going to have to scope it out. 🙂
kathleen @ the daily crumb says

TeenyLittleSuperChef says
On a dreary day like today, nothing sounds more appealing than a warm bowl of cinnamony oatmeal. Oh how I wish I could get my paws on a bag of GH oats. Do they sell them in all their stores? I found out there’s a bakery about 30 minutes from my house and have serious plans to get my batookus there this afternoon. Time to go bread crazy! I really hope they have Cvill Crunch bread. That’s your favorite, right?
Emily says
This oatmeal looks amazing!! I received the Cville Granola and…omg…seriously dangerous. I am in LOVE! Your Cville customers sure are spoiled having your Great Harvest around! Our Great Harvest only has bread and lunch items (which is wonderful!), but it would be nice to have all of the delicious things that you guys have!!!
Thanks again!
KathEats says
🙂 Glad it made it safely!
