First dusting of the year!! So exciting. The whole world seems more peaceful when snowflakes fall.
I suppose you could say lunch was peaceful as well –
Grapefruit rules the winter!
And the Raspberry Chambord Jam on my toast is out of this world! It’s part of a quartet coming to OpenSky including Blueberry Lavender Merlot, Grapefruit & Campar Marmalade and Champagne & Rosemary. They are all outstanding!
Greenery!
Just came back from a short hike in the show – so pretty!
Anna @ On Anna's Plate says
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m jealous! I’m not a winter person at all, but a dusting or two is always nice…we’re at 55 degrees right now in Alabama!
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
We’ve already had a serious snow here – I’ve had enough, bring on summer! 🙂
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
that food looks absolutely delicious! and yay for a snowfall! So pretty!
Ashley@FoodNFitnessDiaries says
exciting! we got our first major snow fall this past weekend, and i was so excited! snow seems to be pretty scarce this year for whatever reason. grapefruit… yum! i need to buy some!
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
I can’t believe you guys got snow…well, I can..I guess because it’s January. But if we’re talking white stuff, I prefer white sand to white snow 🙂
Kristen @ Change of Pace says
Ahhh SNOW! I hope we get some this year. Citrus in general has been ruling this season in my house. So good!
Antonia @ healthinspirations says
I’m glad you’re enjoying the “winter wonderland”! Your lunch looks amazing as always. Do you use a special dressing on your salads?
KathEats says
Mostly just olive oil and honey, drizzled on top
Johanna B says
I live in the midwest and we haven’t seen a flake of snow yet this winter. I’m sure it’s coming though. Can’t imagine NE Kansas going a whole winter without.
Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning says
As I was reading through and looking at your lunch, I thought “where’s the green?” Sure enough, there it was.
The school district that I teach in has at least a delay (if not a closing) if it snows the slightest bit… I’m just waiting…
Hannah @ Eat, Drink and Save Money says
You have me addicted to OpenSky!
Desiree says
A dusting of snow does make winter look pretty. We got up in 60’s here in Atlanta. Rainy though at times. Your lunch looks wonderful.
Kavi @ Lab to Fab says
Snow! I know we’re overdue for it here up north, but with the random warm days we’ve had (Saturday reached 60!) I am ready for spring!
Katie @ Raisins&Apples says
so beautiful! Dusting pictures always make me miss snow more than heavy dumps of it!
Maria @ Sinfully Nutritious says
Isn’t a dusting just the prettiest! You lunch is also pretty. I finally got my grapefruits. They are fabulous.
TeenyLittleSuperChef says
Holy mother of jam! I can’t wait to buy some of those delicious tasting jams from OpenSky when they come out, especially that blueberry one. Smuckers ain’t got nothing on those babies. And that snow is so pretty. I love how quiet things seem when it starts falling. I wish we would get more snow here than all this darn rain that we’ve been experiencing. I love wearing big puffy jackets and hats instead of ponchos and galoshes. Oh well.. at least it makes everything really green come Spring-time.
Have a great Monday!
Stephanie @ Ultra Ambitious says
It flurried here but sadly it did not stick 🙁 I guess C-Ville got all the good snow today!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
i love eggs for lunch! yum 🙂
Angel7 says
Wish I could say that there is snow here!
I love your upside down bells outside!

no signs of snow here – ever – but if i do want to see it i just have to drive an hour or so!
Jill in Chicago says
I’m not sure what that grayish/white structure is to the right of your property (the top left of your photo) but in pictures it looks like it could be a snowy-covered pond or lake. That’s what I’m going to pretend it is from now on 🙂
KathEats says
HAHAHA – it’s a warehouse!!! SOoooo not a pond. But I will pretend it is too!
Jen says
Coming here just makes me happy 🙂 Thank you.

Susan H. @ The Food Allergy Chronicles says
A dusting of snow always cleans up the landscape! Those jams sound amazing and sooooo delicious! I just want to reach into my screen a grab that piece of toast with the Raspberry Chambord Jam! lol
Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn says
Cleannnn and delicious. p.s. I’m loving the “please check to confirm you are human” box — literally hilarious.
Heather @ Get Healthy with Heather says
First snow, yay! None here in Washington yet, but I hope soon. Grapefruit totally rules.
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
I’d like a dusting like that to make things look pretty but without any of the adverse side effects of a huge storm 🙂
katie @KatieDid says
so pretty! I wouldn’t mind if it didn’t snow all winter but that’s more than wishful thinking for vermont.
Katherine says
It snowed last Tuesday here!! It was a pretty hard snow that lasted maybe an hour and actually made the roads super slick for a short period of time. It started around 9 or 9:30 in the morning…If you weren’t outside, you must have totally missed it! 🙂 We went into GH that afternoon and Matt had missed it too! Haha!
Lexi @ Cura Personalis Foodie says
I’m headed back to D.C. tomorrow, and I’m sooooo excited!! I’ve never seen snow fall 🙂
Roxanne says
Hope the snow won’t be too heavy for your bells!
Deva @ Deva by Definition says
we got our first snow on the 2nd. It tied up traffic something awful, but was so so pretty to watch falling!
Amanda says
Those jams sound fantastic, especially the Blueberry Lavender Merlot!
Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says
Lucky! I haven’t seen much snow around my area lately! 🙂
Paige @ Running Around Normal says
I agree – when it comes to this winter, grapefruit FTW!
I cannot believe how mild this winter has been…even for Illinois!
Christine @ Oatmeal in my Bowl says
Snow? We are having 70s sunny out here. 😉 The Grapefruit & Campar Marmalade sounds good. Thanks for the OpenSky update. Enjoy the dusting of snow.
Emily @LivingLongfellow says
How’d you guys on the coast get snow and us, in Minnesota didn’t?!?!?!? Either way, I’m jealous!
Cait's Plate says
I’ve never gotten into grapefruit but I reeeaaaally wish I could. Hopefully sometime in future I’ll come around to it. For now it’s just oranges or bust! 🙂
Stephanie @ LiveCookLove says
Love the snow show!! Wish it was snowing in Austin instead of raining!
Casey @ OatsAndNanners says
SO nice to hear you’re being blessed with flakes too! I was out to lunch today in Arlington and I looked outside to see snowflakes pouring down — who knew Virginia would get so snowy after a few days of amazing weather!
Khushboo says
The first few hours of snow (before it starts to melt) is so pretty! Love the sound of that spread!
Fran@ Broken Cookies Don't Count says
We had a dusting last week here in NJ. So glad it wasn’t much. The jams sound tasty!
Emily says
Yay for a little dusting of snow! We had a little one last week, and even though I am not a huge fan of wintertime, it sure looks pretty. 🙂 and then we had 50 degree days, several in a row, so it is gone. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
I’d love a dusting of snow out here but I don’t think LA will cooperate with me… 😉
