Thanks to this guy, I enjoyed slowly waking up in bed to the smell of oatmeal!
Matt actually got up to go on a run this morning, and when he returned he asked if I wanted breakfast in bed.
YES PLEASE!!
I didn’t end up enjoying my whipped banana oats in bed, but we did enjoy it together. We used to eat breakfast together every morning back in the day. I miss that!
Whipped banana oats [Matt style, which means no chia and whipped violently] with vanilla, strawberry jam, WF peanut butter and more banana.
He even heated tea water for me! Earl Gray to sip.
I feel like a queen this week : )

The Mrs @ Success Along the Weigh says
Aww yay!! Extra hubby points! What a sweetie!

You deserve to feel like a queen and what a prince/king/thoughtful husband you have! The Matt-style oats look delicious, even after being violently whipped and chia-less. Hope the rest of your day is as wonderful as its beginning.
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
Sounds like a keeper! 😉
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
My hubs isn’t a chia fan either. I always try to sneak some in when making oatmeal for both of us but he noticed every single time.
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
What a good hubby! Food always tastes better when it’s made by someone else with care. 🙂
Cm @ Lazy Healthy says
That is the cutest.
Chris Pine says
Looks delicious! Especially the bananas.
Jamie @ Don't Forget the Cinnamon says
For some reason I found the idea of Matt violently whipping the oats hysterical! I’m still smiling 🙂
Matt says
The whole time I’m yelling, “BREAK DOWN YOU BETA-GLUCANS!!!!!”
Kate @ get up and flow says
I laughed at that too! Sounds like a very manly approach to making oatmeal.
Kori says
Hahaha awesome! Love your sense of humor! I hope you and Kath have an amazing day!
Jamie @ Don't Forget the Cinnamon says
We all know what trouble those beta-glucans can be. Glad you put them in their place!!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
haha — “whipped violently”! i love that. glad you enjoyed the fruits of someone else’s labor… in my opinion, food always tastes better that way 🙂
Caroline @ After Dinner Dance says
I could get used to that!
Jennifer says
Is jelly really the way to go? I’m all about the peanut/almond butter, but jelly seems like a weird texture to add to oatmeal. Guess I’ll give it a go.
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
the jelly gives it a little added sweetness! i enjoy it!
KathEats says
I love it! It melts a little too
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Wow, what lovely morning treatment!! All he forgot was a massage and foot rub lol! Breakfast in bed is awesome and I haven’t enjoyed it in far too long. Do you guys whip the oats by hand or with an immersion blender?
KathEats says
Just whipped by hand – just stirred well

Awww… that’s cool he made you oatmeal and tea this morn. those oats look yummy. think I will go make me some now minus the jam.
I love when my man brings me hot tea. We do that frequently in the evening. As for the massage, I treated him this weekend with a day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs. Was truly nice as it was 80 degrees out.
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
I love this idea of PB and Preserves/Jelly in your oats, I’m going to have to try it!
Sarah @ See Sarah Eat says

Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning says
Can I rent Matt to give my husband lessons? Seriously- I don’t think mine has ever once made me breakfast! And the fact that Matt knows how to cook oats correctly is pretty amazing. Definitely jealous over here! Enjoy!
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
I remember reading your old posts and always wondering how you guys pulled off breakfast together almost every day…well, very sweet memories you will always have at least 🙂
Jasper Naomi @ crunchylittlebites says
my family and I used to eat breakfast together every morning…those days are long gone…paradigm shift is in order, though, I think and my father and his wife just arrived home for a 3-month period after being in Africa for 3 years and I should request family breakfasts again! 😀
