All of those fun samples came to my doorstep in one day!! Birchbox is the best! It has evolved from just a monthly subscription box of samples to a huge marketplace for products that anyone can buy. I still love the monthly sample boxes the most, but I often purchase the Discovery Kits and Limited Edition Boxes too.
Let’s talk about hair. I’ve been really into hair products lately. I didn’t used to be able to use them because they would just make my hair look oily but now I just put products on the tips and I think they make a big difference. I am all about texture.
I received the bright orange Seaberry hair serum in a previous box and ordered the full size because it worked so well for my product-resistant hair. I love the smell, and it makes my hair dry in a curvy shape around my ears and on my shoulders rather than just straight. (That’s hard to explain!) My hair is on the fine side so I think because this is designed for fine hair it doesn’t leave my greasy at all. (I have never understood hair oils – isn’t that what you try to remove?!)
Many of the above samples are from the Brilliant Blonde Kit. I have always loved the John Frieda Blonde shampoos and think they do make my hair lighter, so I wanted to try more. Did you know blonde conditioner looks like purple frosting?! At least two of these products are all purple. It must be good for the hue or something! Good enough to eat.
The Blonde box came with a lot of Oribe products, which I have gotten in many boxes in the past. The shampoo (purple!!) smells amazing as does the beach wave spray. But my favorite brand of all time from Birchbox is amika!!
Now I’m off to do some organizing of all these samples!

I love my blonde conditioner! Lately I’ve been using Bed Head and it looks EXACTLY like purple frosting ha ha! Do you like the travel size samples? I find that stuff, even when I buy it for full price ends up in a box in the back of the cabinets :/

Yes I use them on trips, at the gym, or just put them into my shower to try out. I like the variety 🙂

If you like the timing of the purple conditioners, try Clairol “shimmer lights” (on Amazon). It does the best job of toning down brassy hues in blonde hair. Although I will warn you, it doesn’t smell the beat and doesn’t leave your hair feeling the best, haha. I leave it on for about 2 min, add my normal conditioner for another 2 min. For all that downside, it is amazing at the color toning.

I was a long time Birchbox subscriber, like over two years! Last month I finally cut the cord though. Their loyalty points program was the only reason why I stayed, and once they changed that, I was gone. It is too bad, I got many great samples while I was a subscriber.

I HAVE to have oil! I have coarse, curly hair and it’s so thirsty! My hair just drinks it up! 🙂
