So this is the third time I’ve had pizza in the past 7 days and it finally satisfied my craving!!! My sister and her boyfriend were in the neighborhood, and we made the last-minute decision to meet them for pizza in the shopping center near our house (which meant we walked – 10 minutes each way). The restaurant (Wolfman Pizza) has lots of really good combinations but I ended up building my own to get exactly what I wanted.
I also ordered a beer! I haven’t had one since Octoberish!? I always choose wine because it takes me a long time to finish a glass (plus I just LOVE wine), but every now and then I love a good beer to take me back to my college days at the Brickhouse in Davidson, a local bar we frequented that has around 50 beers on tap. I don’t really like the mainstream beers (if it comes in a can I probably won’t like it) but this was a great wheat beer (Blue Star, I think?). Unfortuantely I drank it too fast!
I also ordered a garden salad. It was meh. At least the carrots were good.
And my 8″ mushroom, green pepper and spinach pizza:
I ate every. single. bite. and it was soooo delicious, especially the crust. I’m sure it was well on the way to 1,000 calories, but I’m not sweating it given that I was on my feet a lot today.
The husband and I went for a 40 minute walk this afternoon to pick up our movie, plus the 20 minute walk to and from the pizza place (same shopping center, an hour later!) It’s so nice to be able to walk and not have to burn gas on these trips. And it’s part of the reason we bought this house.
I think a good cup of tea would go well with Pirates of the Caribbean. Count me in for one!

Ahhh!! You are like a pro blogger! All those pizzas look great. I've been doing a lot more *interesting* cooking recently. Ok, not me personally, but my girlfriend has been cooking in my kitchen.
I gained 5 lbs since August as my season wound down and I continued to eat like I was burning 3000-4500 kcal/day. Oh well. Started the training for 2008 season on Jan 2nd and feeling pretty good. I accepted an offer to ride for an elite amateur team for this season so I'll be racing against a few pros this summer. I'm starting to realize the comment should actually be an email to you (and "the husband").
The videos are awesome and your new FB profile pic looks fantastic! Tell Bocker I said hi and I'll try to keep out of your garden from now on!!
Love you guys!

Snake!!!!!,
We just saw 2 foxes in our yard – did you send those!? Amateur team sounds awesome!! Who is this girlfriend!?!?
Mags + Jen,
I LOVE Blue Moon – it's one of my favorites! This was the Blue Star Wheat: http://www.northcoastbrewing.com/beer-BlueStar.ht…
…..and it wasn't nearly as good! I also like the Pyramid Hefeweizen a lot for the wheat beers. New Castle is another favorite, along with Red Oak, which might be a North Carolina regional one. Bottoms up!

You put me in the biggest pizza and beer mood!!! so when i suggested getting some pizza and beer for dinner to my boyfriend you could imagine his delight! a footbal game was on for us to watch too so it was the perfect night for it haha.
I usually don't allow myself to eat pizza unless i make it myself, it's whole wheat and I put extra veggies on my side. oh well, i went for it and i got a fresh mozz, tomato and basil leaf slice and washed it down with some magic hat hefeweizen and it hit the spot!

Paula,
Thanks so much for the reminder – that means a lot to me 🙂
Kristin,
So glad you enjoyed pizza and beer too!! I find it much more of a comfort food than mac and cheese and ice cream 🙂
