I tried out one of the Voskos Organic Plain yogurts for breakfast. Organic Plain Greek is my ultimate yogurt of choice….
I have to say I was REALLY impressed!! It was soooooo smooth with almost no tang at all. Almost like a thick sour cream. The smoothness might have won my heart. I’d say it’s most similar to Trader Joe’s Greek, which is one of my favs.
Mix with:
- 1 small banana
- ~12-15 Kashi Cinnamon Harvest biscuits
- A sprinkle of Hemp Plus
- A tbsp Lingonberry preserves
- A heaping tbsp of freshly ground flax (’bout time I pulled it back out of my freezer to grind!)
Eggnog in the summa!
This. Is. Not. Good.

I’m spending the morning in Endoscopy today!
Taste the weekend…
Freya @ Brit Chick Runs says
Gah, maybe ENgland is passing the showers over the sea to you – it’s raining here right now! (and it’s my birthday today – where did the sun go!?)
What’s endoscopy by the way? I feel so dumb for asking, but I can’t place it 😛
Have a good day!
Mary Frances says
Happy Birthday!
Since I try to stay away from hospitals as much as possible, I am not exactly sure. The online Encarta dictionary agrees to define Endoscope (but not Endoscopy) as: medical instrument for viewing interior of body a medical instrument consisting of a long tube inserted into the body, used for diagnostic examination and surgical procedures. Websters circa 1961 defines Endoscope as: An instrument for examining the interior of a hollow organ, as of the rectum, the urethra, and the bladder. The Columbia Encyclopedia circa 1935 has no reference to either Endoscope or Endoscopy.
By the way, how do you pronounce your name?
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
We are supposed to get rain this weekend, too. Boooo. Have a great day, Kath!
Rachel (Suburban Yogini) says
I have had an endoscopy so I feel your patients’ pain 🙁
Veggielady4life says
Well at least if it does rain… you can sit on the porch and read! Sometimes… soft rain can be soothing!
Estela @ Weekly Bite says
I think rain is all over the east coast this weekend 🙁
Have a great day!
Melissa Cari @ Miles for Markets says
The weather this time of year can be very wrong sometimes. I hope that’s the case for you!
cookienurse says
I work in endoscopy, hope you have a wonderful day there!
Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg says
Hey, at least it’s only scattered, right? Usually when they say that for us, we get one tiny little rain shower, and lots of sunshine. Hope that’s the case for you!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
Oh endoscopy…fun stuff! I am sure you can find something fun and romantic to do in Asheville in the rain…was that too much info?
Have a great day!
Colleen says
Just bought some buddha bowls! Can’t wait for ’em!
Courtney @ Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life says
I’ve had the joy of having not one endoscopy, but TWO!
Looks like a yummy breakfast bowl this morning, Kath! 🙂
Jenn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) says
Those bowls are darling. That cereal mix looks delish. 🙂
Jenn
Ann @ Appalachian Appetites says
No, but the weather is even better encouragement to eat lots of good food (indoors!) and rest (at the hotel!)…
Sam says
Can you show us the ingredient list on the yogurt, please?
Kori says
You should be able to find the yogurt’s ingredients list and nutrition facts on Voskos’ website.
Lauren @ eater not a runner says
Doesn’t seem like the weather is good anywhere!
J says
I have tried Brown cow, oikos, greek gods, fage, siggis, chobani, yoplait, TJ’s, and voskos greek yogurt; Voskos and Siggis are definately my favs- they blow everything else out of the water. I especially love the Voskos honey- its just a tad sweet with a good honey flavor and the only ingredients are honey and milk (most “honey” yogurts are sweetened with sugar if you read the ingreds).
Amy says
I’ve been eyeing those Buddha bowls for so long, thanks for the coupons Kath! Have a great day 🙂
Jenny says
Stay dry!
Erin says
Love the bright blue color. I just bought some Le Creuset is almost the same shade. Lovely for summer.

I’m jealous! I would kill for some rain right now 🙂

Kathi says
It’s the perfect weekend for staying inside for much needed rest, reading and relaxation!
kalli@fitandfortysomething says
our weather in socal sucks right now….feels like winter!
Hannah says
Um, before you get *too* sad about the weather, think about us here in Australia where it’s almost winter AND we have no Buddha bowls. 🙁 At least if it’s raining in Asheville, you have more reason to do nothign but snuggle with your guy! 😀
Rose-Anne says
Bring an umbrella and go for a rain walk! To my mind, that’s the best way to enjoy summertime showers 🙂
Stacy (StacyGrowsHealthy) says
Don’t let the rain bum you out. The weathermen aren’t always right. Plus it will give you more reason to have some relaxation time if it does end up being a rainy weekend.
Cristen says
Don’t let that forecast fool you Kath! We’ve been having that forecast up here for a couple of weeks now and it hasn’t been doing much of anything. At the most we’ve had small showers in the afternoons/evenings.
Holly- Claire says
Hey Kath!
My husband and I are going to be in Asheville this weekend too! We are going for our belated honeymoon! Want to meet us for dinner at The Laughing Seed on Saturday night? That is my FAV vegetarian restaurant! I would love to see you and Matt again after our lunch at Lovey’s here in Wilmington. Send me an e-mail 🙂
If we don’t get to have dinner, I hope you and Matt have a wonderful weekend, even if it rains!
Meg says
Vosko’s is AWESOME! Too bad my grocer stopped selling it 🙁
Hope the rain decides to go away soon, Kath 🙂
Diana @ frontyardfoodie says
Oh no not rain! Yesterday we had a really random freak crazy storm and then suddenly it was sunny again. Now THAT’S my kind of storm!
maureen says
Thank you so much for the coupons on the bowls! I love them 🙂
This should have gone under yesterday afternoon’s post, but what kind of Camelback do you have (model name)?
It looks very streamlined. Some of them are bigger and I wouldn’t want to run with them.
Thanks!
Kath says
I have the Charm for Women 🙂
Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter says
I’m jealous it’s above 70. We can’t seem to get above 60 here 🙁
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
i so wish we had more storms here! normally it’s a little stormier in Colorado, but i think all the weather’s a little late since it was snowing earlier this month…
Jil @ Peace, Love & Munchies says
I was reallllly thankful that it rained here last night – it was SOOOO hott!!
Danielle (Runs on Green) says
I’m actually looking forward to some rain because it’s SO humid!

Have a fun day at work! 😀
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
Yep our weekend forecast is the same.. NOT happy about that.
That yogurt sounds great!! TJ’s is the BEST.
Paige (Running Around Normal) says
Don’t worry about the forecast – it’s always a guess with those percentages. It’s 60% chance of storms here today, and it’s completely sunny!
Lisa says
I wish it was going to be 80 here… It’s more like 100!!
Yummy breakfast!
lynn (The Actors Diet) says
eeek look at all that rain! though i don’t like rain, i do enjoy an occassional thunderstorm (like once a season)
Kristin (Salty Tooth) says
Love, love love the Buddha Bowl. I need to purchase it ASAP!
Lindsay @ Summit Sandwiches says
Honestly, i would take rain any day of the week over the ridiculous heat we’ve had up here in the northeast! It got up to 98 here in Hartford, CT before the sky finally let loose last night. It rained and poured and thundered till the wee hours of the morn…but now it’s much more comfortable out! It’s amazing how much cooler 80 degrees feels in comparison to 98. Glorious.
HeatherBakes says
Keeping my fingers crossed that the rain passes you by!
Becca says
The weather channel gets Asheville wrong sometimes. Keep an eye on this site. They usually hit it pretty much on the head & I just like their forecast better for this weekend 🙂 Even though Saturday does look like a bust.

Brittany @ A Healthy Slice of Life says
I’ve been watching the weather in Mooresville… supposed to rain, too. But what do weathermen know?! I’m sure you’ll have a blast in Asheville rain or shine! 🙂
Karen says
Bought a pair of Buddha bowls! I have been wanting a pair for a long time but could not justify the spending. Basically getting free shipping helped me decide! Thanks for the coupons!
Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run] says
I love TJ’s Greek as well. It’s great for my college budget. And I just discovered that 2% is 100x better than 0% ; )
Natalie @ Keep It Sassy says
That weather forecast sums up the past 6 months for us! haha Okay, the rain part at least. We might make it to 60 degrees today. And maybe even a little sunshine. Fingers crossed! I can’t believe it’s practically JUNE. 🙂
