My morning did indeed involved goggles – I went for a swim!!
But it did not involve really good bread. I actually came home afterwards, as the power cord for our computer had still not arrived. So I now have a spontaneous afternoon off!
Swimming was fun. I only did 30 minutes. That’s just about all I can handle. Well, I could have done 45 pretty easily, but the only way I’ll get in the pool is if I know I’m back out soon! Swimming comes so easy to me – I barely felt tired when I got out! The hardest part is not getting water in my ears. Maybe I should swim faster..
I biked home and was THRILLED to have lunch here on my porch!!
The best part about weekly sliders? The leftover sliders for lunch! Tomato, K+M, Honey Whole Wheat – guess I did have really good bread after all!
Salad on the side – including goat feta!
And cherries. Love the cherries.
Unlike my Tuesdays off, this afternoon I’m putting myself to work! Since the bakery opened, I’ve done an excellent job balancing everyday blogging and work there. But all side projects, special posts and recipes that take longer than 20 minutes have fallen by the wayside. Hoping to remedy that soon!
Cait's Plate says
Anytime you write “K+M” all I can read it as is “Kath + Matt” and I get the image of the blue pained “K” and “M” letters in my mind.
Hopefully you did NOT have Kath + Matt on your slider 😉
KathEats says
Haha – love that you know those letters so well!

That is probably the best looking slider I have seen in a long time — I love that big tomato slice, yum!
Sylvia @ My Attempt at Balanced Living says
You must have super stamina to not be tired after a swim. It doesn’t matter how in shape I am, I am always exhausted after a great swim workout. Lunch looks delicious like usual 🙂 Hope you’re able to get a lot accomplished today!
Lisa @ Sunny Seed Stories says
Once again, I must say I love your tablecloth. Also, I am jealous of your porch! One day I will have porch lunches too…just not for a while. 🙂
Nikki says
My tum is rumbling looking at your meal.
Side note, I have a huge respect for how you’ve been able to balance everything going on. You go, Kath!

Shayla @ The Good Life says
I think you’ve done an amazing job at balancing everything out. I’ve been a long time reader and finally just started my blog about a month ago (yay!), and I’m realizing it’s a lot of work and I only post once a day! It actually got me thinking about how you run a business and blog 3x a day…major kudos to you. And no matter what your posts are about, I’ll never get tired of reading about your food, life, and the beautiful pictures you take! 🙂
P.S. your lunch definitely redeemed itself in having really good bread today 😉
KathEats says
🙂 Thanks Shayla!
Dani Delicatessen says
I always love your lunches- how do you find the time to always make a full meal-on busy days i feel like i end up just having an apple or yogurt and am starving my dinner time

It’s all about which ingredients you have on hand!

I miss delicious bread! Wish there was a Great Harvest around here. The closest awesome loaves I get are Wegman’s. Sliders look delish!
ashley says
Swimming is always a really simple workout for me too. Maybe we are both too slow though. And should step it up!
Jenny @ Fitness Health and Food says
mmm that slider looks delish!
I am the same way with swimming that it takes a lot to get my into the pool but I love it when I do! 🙂
rumfunandsun says
Swimming is a pain because it seems to be so involved with getting ready and then if you are concerned about smelling like chlorine the whole showering to get back to work etc. It would not be something I would do during a work day for sure!!!
Lynda @ healthy hoboken girl says
Kath,
You guys are doing a wonderful job balancing the blogging/bakery/having a life world! Keep making the ‘dough’ we love you guys, we understand!! Have a wonderful day! Shout out to Karen!!

I love cherries in salads… even more than strawberries. I think the texture is much nicer.
The Healthy Engineer says
Those cherries entice me to head over to the grocery store!
Unfortunately, I’m going out of town so no perishables for me 🙁
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
LOL for a few seconds I couldn’t figure out what K&M meant.. i was like, wait, Kath and Matt? But then I realized…. think I need to get out of the office for a while!! 🙂

“An Excellent Job” – well, not many people can say that!
Do you do freestyle swim? Maybe try alternating between stroke types? – I don’t know – I can’t swim barely! So one or two laps is amazing 🙂
Christine (The Raw Project) says
You’ve done an amazing job balancing the blog and bakery! Jealous of your swim time, I need to make time for that this weekend.
Lunch looks wonderful, especially the cherries.
Cara says
You need some swim workouts! I swim three times a week and it kicks my ass each time. You could try looking up some workouts online to mix things up and make it more interesting. If it is too easy, you aren’t doing it right! 🙂
Hannah says
What big, glorious cherries! I wish I could like swimming, but even the thought makes me go “ugh” – I haven’t owned swimmers since I was about 15?! 😛
Pat says
To keep water out of your ears – wear ear plugs. They don’t cut out all sound, but your ears stay dry. It’s the only way I’ll swim. I hate water in my ears.
Katherine says
Those cherries look amazing!
Emma (Namaste Everyday) says
quit taunting me with those cherries! I’m allergic and they look so good! 😉
Heather says
Hello there. Congrats on the bakery. It always looks delicious. I think I’m even going to take a trip to Columbia to pick up some bread. When I go your grandmother has requested almond bread?? I did not see that on the menu, could it be called something different? Also had fish tacos for the first time last night based on a post from your last summer vacation. They were awesome especailly with our homemade guac with greek yogurt.. soo creamy. Hope your enjoyed your afternoon and go your cord.
Kath says
I think she requested the Vanilla Almond Swirl I brought in February – it might be a holiday / winter special. You could call ahead and special request it?
Charissa says
The cherries are making me drool. There’s just nothing like them! Nature’s perfect candy…best dessert after a nummy lunch like this! Thanks for sharing your inspiring lunch!

I like it OK I just get bored after too long so I never do it! 30 minutes was a bargain with myself to get in the pool but not get too bored
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
I can barely manage work and posting 3-4 times a week – I have no idea how you balance work and 3 posts/day! You’ve done an amazing job at juggling it all. 🙂

Jackie @ That Deep Breath says
This just made up my mind that I’m having a cheeseveggie burger for dinner! I’ve been starving around 2AM everyday, so I’m thinking I need more protein before I go to sleep?
Namaste Gurl says
I smell summer in somebody’s food… 🙂
Aine @ Something to Chew Over says
I’m a really poor swimmer, I think it’s really impressive you can do 30 minutes!
Stacie @ Imperfectly Healthy says
Mmmm..that hamburger bun looks so fluffy! Yum!
I really would love to add swimming to my exercise routine (there’s a pool on campus at my university that I could use), but I’m so intimidated because I’ve never really swum laps before! Maybe I’ll read up on it a bit and then force myself to face my fear!
Maria @ Beautiful Busy Bee says
Goat feta??? That is the marriage of my two favorite cheeses!!! 🙂
