Absolutely no complaining here, but I can’t believe how fast we went from piles of snow to drips of sweat! It is almost HOT out there! This weather is absolutely glorious. Wish it would stick around!
M and I were kicked out of the house this morning as our roofers finished up some repairs we had to make as part of our home inspection. They had to turn the power off, so we packed our things and went out to breakfast!
We walked to Paradox Pastry where I had a delicious spinach and blue cheese quiche and Mazen nibbled on a muffin the size of his head! (It was a really good muffin too!)
He told me “Mommy, here is one bite for you” : )
We walked to the gym where I traded in weight class for some treadmill walking and ellipticaling to ease my soreness from soccer. After a shower, we walked to the park for a picnic.
I totally forgot to snap a photo of my lunch, but I packed a spinach salad with chickpeas and blue cheese, a bag of grapes and a slice of bread.
If this photo had audio, you’d hear Mazen telling Sylvia: “Sylvia, flap your wings and fly like a bird!” (Also the weird ghost sitting on the floating bench was my attempt to remove a bystander from the photo. I’m not very good with those kinds of editing skills!)

Those pictures of your baby are darling! I love the comb over- my dad used to do my younger brother’s hair the same way.
Erin @ Her Heartland Soul says
What a cutie! I love that he gave you ONE bite! haha
KathEats says
He was more generous as the meal went on : )
Shel@PeachyPalate says
At least he shared! 🙂 The quiche looks beautiful! Not sure how you managed the gym after it, I’m no good at eating before training!
KathEats says
Haha I couldn’t run but other cardio isn’t a problem
Taca @ A Side Of Dessert says
What a big bite Mazen gave mommy! That’s too cute. He is also starting to look like such a big boy! When did that happen?!
Sam @ Grapefruit & Granola says
I am also so happy that the weather has warmed up. Hopefully it will stay this way! Don’t think I can handle more crummy temps and snow. I’m jealous you live on n a walkable area. That seems like it would be so nice!
Jeanie says
I can’t believe how big Mazen’s getting. He looks so grown up!
Ashley @ Saving Money in your Twenties says
haha that is actually really impressive editing! I probably would have just put a big black box over the person hah! also Mazen’s muffin looks SO good!
KathEats says
Haha!
Anna says
You (or Mazen) just inspired me to go swing at the park near my house. I’ve been waiting all winter to do it! Something about swinging is so freeing and playful no matter what your age.
KathEats says
Totally!
Laura says
What brand are Mazen’s shoes? Do they stay on well? Looking for replacements for my 2 year old!
KathEats says
They are Converse and stay on great! Karen bought them so I’m not sure where she got them.
Sara says
Hi Kath,
I saw you said you had a home inspection. Are you moving?
Sara
KathEats says
We already moved! See my post a few back “Where The Heart Is” : )
Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out says
The weather is crazy!! But I’m not complaining!
Lindsey @ Simply Lindsey says
Mazen is looking so grown up!! Such a cutie!
Congrats on your new house!
Chelsea @ Designs on Dinner says
Even Wisconsin is warm–the snow melted in my yard in two days! Those pictures of Mazen are adorable; he has the same rosy cheeks as his mama. 🙂
Candice says
For stuff like that, I’ll use the patch tool in Photoshop. Works pretty well.
KathEats says
I don’t have Photoshop on this computer anymore, so I had to try to figure out Lightroom. I use Picmonkey for times when I used to use Photoshop so I’m not sure it’s worth buying again. I was never very good at it!
Candice says
Yeah, probably not worth it. I don’t do much in PS either, but that tool is awesome. Sorry I’m not more help!
Cassie says
How cute! <3
Sarah @ RunningChickago.com says

Emily says
