G’afternoon!
I met my friend Jenn and her little boy Levi at the park today for a stroll and some playing. Jenn is a nurse (and obviously a mom) so of course we chatted all about L&D too : ) It was fun to get out of the house. I can’t wait till I have a little boy who wants to play too – Levi is so cute!
My next date was a last-minute lunch invitation from Hillary!
She met me on her lunch break downtown! We actually had plans to get salads and then I declared that I could not sit outside in this heat wave, so we went next door to try out Himalayan Fusion’s lunch buffet for some cool AC and buffet fun.
This is so not something I would normally crave for lunch – so call me out of character! I was starving, and I figured spicy food would be smart : ) It tasted great!
The buffet is only $6.99 – what a steal! I wouldn’t call it incredible, but the food tasted good and there was a wide variety of hot and cold dishes.
I had a little taste of most of the options. I think the chicken tikka masala was my fav! And that green sauce – whatever it might be…
Our plates were small so we had two – went back for the favorites.
And after lunch we walked to Splendora’s for a bambino gelato. I had the White Chocolate Lemon [Cookie] again and it exceeded my expectations of my memory from my last visit! Locals, you MUST go try this flavor!
After two walks in the sun, I would prefer to stay in the AC for the rest of the day, although we have one more outing scheduled this evening! Also, eggplant

You have just given me an instant craving for Indian food! I haven’t had it in ages…. well, at least 3 weeks! I’m all about the tandoori dishes. Last time we were out, I got tandoori halibut and it was THE. BOMB. Curious to see what this eggplant business is about!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
You’re lucky to have such great friends to distract you!! Have a relaxing afternoon, Kath!

I craved spicy a lot when I was pregnant. Well, I always do but Indian was always wanted. Your food looks delicious and I always go back for seconds – things I liked.
And I hear the spicy is supposed to help move things along – could be a wive’s tale but I figure you would appreciate it nonetheless.
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
Bambino – what a great size descriptor! 🙂
Kelly says
Love that the shop sells a “bambino” serving size. Sometimes I just want a bite of something sweet and would order that size if I could. More places should offer much smaller options for this exact reason!
Oh my, white choc. lemon cookie ice cream! Yum! I love lemon flavored anything… Totally on a lemon kick right now, I have some lemon infused olive oil that I just cannot get enough of!
Brie @ Impatient Baker says
Chicken tikka is always a safe bet! That flatbread looks wonderful… hands down my favorite part of Indian cuisine.
Meghan says
Totally agree about the white chocolate lemon flavor being amazing! I tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and loved it. That and the salted caramel have been my favorites this summer 🙂
Congrats on the KERF anniversary, and best of luck with your (hopefully soon) delivery!
Sana says
It is coriander chutney!!
kate says
The onions don’t bother you in Indian food?
KathEats says
Not if they’re cooked down for hours. It’s raw onions that I hate the most

If your dinner plans include eggplant, then make this. It’s supposed to induce labor! 😉

I’ve never been to an Indian restaurant, the food looks good though! You’re quite active today! All good distractions while you wait. 🙂
Jenica says
Looks delicious! Hope you’re staying cool now. And of course I’m sure the gelato helped cool you down.
Angel7 says
Maybe the lemon will induce labor 🙂

Glad you had a nice lunch and the bambino gelato that EXCEEDED expectations and I know how you already love that place so – I would love to try it!
Ali @ Peaches and Football says
Are you finding these last few weeks that you have to decrease any of your walks or exercise? How have you modified bodypump to keep going with that throughout – or did it never matter since it was something you had done prior to the pregnancy?
KathEats says
Walking, definitely. Before I was doing a workout walk AND walking around town and now I’m just walking around town.
And Pump is about the same as it was earlier in the trimester – I wrote a post about my modifications here: http://www.babykerf.com/23-weeks-pumping-and-i-dont-mean-my-breasts/
Laura @ She Eats Well says
I hope the spice helps you out! I would be so impatient if I were you at this point!!
Jaspreet says
Delurking to say that it’s really neat to see you eating South Asian food. I don’t see you eating a lot of ethnic food so I hope you will take the time in the future to explore such a wonderful cuisine (I’m Indian-American and very proud of our delicious food).
I’m 95% sure that the “green stuff” was mint or coriander chutney. You should try it on a sandwich–deelish!
Hope the baby comes soon. 🙂
Amanda @flecksofgreen says
Lemon Cookie! That sounds amazingly refreshing!
Annette @FitnessPerks says
Yay for fun lunch dates!!
Laura (Blogging Over Thyme) says
It’s coriander sauce (or cilantro to us)…it’s my favorite sauce, it goes so well with everything, especially samosas!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
Mmm that gelato looks like the perfect ending for an afternoon lunch on a warm day. I hope that lemon helps bring baby soon…
