Time for some of the things I’m loving in this season of life!
Tomato soup!
With a crunchy toasted turkey and cheddar sandwich on MarieBette grain bread. Can’t go wrong!! The soup is the tomato parmesan from Whole Foods and we are obsessed. I’d say I have to recreate it….except it’s super easy to buy on our weekly grocery run and I’d rather save the time!
Ugg Koolaburra Slippers
I go through slippers like CRAZY! Probably because I wear them all.the.time working from home. I literally busted out the side of my L.L.Bean Booties. My Mahabis sole fell off. And my Toms Slippers got a hole in the toe. So a new pair of slippers went on my Christmas list. I decided I like moccasin style the best, and I found the Koolaburra line of Uggs more affordable at $59. (Perhaps this is my problem – not spending a lot on slippers! It’s a catch 22. If I knew they’d last longer, I’d spend more!) Anyway, these took a while to break in, but I love them!! The ones I have are the color Wild Dove.
Elin Hilderbrand’s Paradise Trilogy
Elin Hilderbrand is one of my favorite authors – I’ve read a ton of her books! Somehow, magically, I got ALL THREE of her Paradise books on my Kindle at once. I went into airplane mode and read them deliciously each night. They’re set on St. John and the tropics come straight through the screen, er…pages! I’ve enjoyed the plot and there is a bit of a mystery involved. Highly recommend!
Rose Tonic
My VA and friend Hillary sent me this Essential Hydrating Rose Tonic as a holiday gift. If you love rose-scented things and need some springtime in your winter, you will LOVE this! The scent is super fresh – like your put your nose in a rose – and the tonic hydrates and delivers vitamin C. I’ve been using it after putting on my Countertime Essence or any time during the day when I need a lift. Find it at karigran.com, Credo Beauty, or Amazon.
The Best Kids Masks
You’ve probably seen Birch wearing his animal face masks that I bought him early on in the pandemic. We have washed them 1,000 times, and they are THE BEST masks for toddlers. Pros are adjustable ear straps and the mesh material on the inside. I went to buy more (they were by CIKIShield) and they no longer make them with adjustable straps!! So instead I bought these, which are made by the same company so they have the same soft mesh, but they just aren’t quite as cute : ) But they are great and fit very well.
Dropps
I’ve mentioned Dropps already after discovering them at our refill shop. LOVE THEM. I’ve been using the laundry Dropps, but they have kitchen products, too. Their formulas are dye-free, phthalate-free, phosphate-free and animal-cruelty-free. PLUS! Their compostable packaging helps keep single-use plastic out of the landfill. And all of shipments are 100% carbon-neutral. As a thank you for the mentions, Dropps recently sent me samples laundry detergent and dish pods to try. I love them both!
They gave me a promo code for you guys: use KATH25 for 25% off of any order!
Kids Kindle Paperwhite
Mazen got a Kids Kindle for his birthday in 2019. He has done SO much reading on it that I decided to upgrade him to the new Kids Paperwhite for Christmas (I bought it on Black Friday!). This way he’ll have a Kindle at each house. The regular Kids Kindle battery life is just so-so, but the Paperwhite is already proving to be a far superior version. The battery lasts forever and the screen is SO nice. I also love that I can connect his Kindle to the library through the Libby app, so if he ever wants something to read on the spot he can browse the library and have a new book in seconds. Much faster than going to the library itself (although we do that too!). If your child loves to read or is a budding reader, I can’t recommend the Kids Paperwhite enough.
Floss + Rock Magic Water Cards
Birch got these Floss + Rock Magic Water cards as a Christmas gift from his cousin and WE LOVE THEM. Just like the Water Wow painters that we have, you use water to turn the cards colors. The white pen is refillable with water, and you paint over the trucks to make them appear. I love
Birch prefers to use the Water Wow paintbrush, seen in his hand here, because it spreads water more easily. You could use a regular paint brush and cup too. Older kids might like the pen it comes with more for a more precise line.
Winc Wines
I’ve been using Winc for years and love that their wines are not stuffy or expensive. My wine shelf got down to just 2 bottles after the holidays, and it was time for a bulk restock. I get a monthly 3-bottle delivery from Winc. I like to think of the 3 bottles as my home-consumption limit, usually 1 bottle or 4 glasses per week and skipping one weekend for going out. But then I need bottles to gift so I added more to the stash.
Use the code KATHEATS to get 4 bottles + free shipping for $29.95. That’s $7.50 a bottle!
Guava Goddess Kombucha
And when it’s not a wine night (Mon-Wed, hopefully Thurs…!), the Guava Goddess flavor of GT’s Synergy kombucha is my new all-time fav. Major tropical vibes!!

My Mahabis soles fell off too! After only a year, but a year of wearing daily. I loved them so much.

Mine lasted pretty long but I was ready for something new 🙂

I love the Paperwhite too! It’s so easy to carry in a bag. That’s so neat about the kids version. And yes, I’ve had to go in airplane mode a few times to finish a book-I dislike 14 days with Libby! I guess if I requested fewer books I wouldn’t have so many come in at once…
