Happy Tuesday! It was a crazy whirlwind of a birthday weekend, but I have officially turned 33. Can’t believe I started writing this blog when I was 24 – and some of you probably remember my 25th birthday! I’m working on a birthday recap, but first I have a delicious dinner to share and a sweet smelling offer below!
The Bouqs Company sent me a few of their bouquets to showcase, and boy are these some show-stopping flowers!
The Bouqs Company is a modern take on flower delivery. Bouqs.com offers stunning fresh bouquets made from flowers clipped the day you order. The flowers are grown on the side of an active volcano in Ecuador where the soil is rich in minerals that produce exceptional florals.
Moreover, all flowers are grown at sustainable, eco-friendly farms that follow strict responsible farming practices and are 3rd party certified by Veriflora and The Rainforest Alliance.
While you might keep your vases filled with local farmers market flowers in the summer, during the colder months or when you want to send a gift to someone far away, this makes such a great solution. It’s always warm on the volcano!
Bouqs.com has flat, reasonable prices and free shipping. Use the code FARMBLOOMS to get 20% off of your Bouqs.com order for the next week!
The above bouquet is called Meteorite. Not only are these flowers totally gorgeous with their pops of vibrant color, the package comes with two different bouquets so I had enough to spread them around in jars.
My second bouqut was called Bonfire, which I selected in honor of autumn!
I put it in our master bathroom for a touch of glamour. More than its beauty, the bouquet’s smell was so lovely in the small space!
Last week we had the Struckmanns over for dinner and made an elegant meal served next to the vases.
We panko-crusted and baked some Sable fish, dolled up greens for a salad and made this coconut crusted squash to round out the meal.
We made a mixture of 4 parts coconut, 1 part butter and 2 parts brown sugar and spread it out on the squash while they baked.
While it didn’t stick as well as it did the first time we did this, it sure tasted good!
The non-fancy side of the table was all smiles : )
Thanks to The Bouqs Company for sponsoring this post
and making our dinner table a bit more glamorous!

Those bouquets are absolutely stunning!! I wish we could have fresh flowers in our home, but our cats would eat them, unfortunately. Silly babies. Wonderful post, and your dinner looks and sounds amazing!

Wow, those flowers look amazing! It’s impressive that they look that good having been shipped to you!

I love trying new types of fish! Can you explain more about sablefish? What other type of fish is it comparable to? Where in the world does it come from (I’m big on fishing sustainability!). I’ve noticed you’ve been eating it a lot lately but haven’t been able to get around to answering questions in the comments about it! : )

I actually wasn’t sure myself, so I wikipedia-ed it. Looks like it’s another name for Black Cod, which is funny because I had that in a restaurant this week and though “This is very similar to Sablefish!” We have been buying it from some guys at our farmer’s market who go on a big fishing trip in Alaska and then sell their extras at the market.

This might make me sound silly but… thank you so much for showing pictures of how you cook butternut squash. I have one at home, and I didn’t know what to do with it!

Those flowers look beautiful! It’s so great know they have sustainable farming practices, when you can’t get a product like that locally out of season. But I was wondering, what are their shipping practices to continue that eco-friendliness when they’re sending from halfway around the world?
(A belated happy birthday!)
