On the Pontoooooooon…..Jumpin’ out the back, don’t act like you don’t want to…..Party in slow motion.
(Little Big Town is one of my favorite country bands, and I LOVE that song!)
I just came back from a quick little trip to Lake Gaston with my girlfriends to celebrate Sarah’s birthday.
I left on Saturday morning and arrived in time for a mimosa and the most beautiful sunshine!
We had shrimp Caesar salads and cheese and crackers for lunch out on the dock and spent hours talking in the sunshine.
Later that afternoon we took a boat ride around the lake. I haven’t been on a pontoon boat in a while, but gosh it was so nice to spread out! Ski boats can be claustrophobic, but we had plenty of space to spread out on the pontoon.
The dress code for the weekend was described as “cozy” so we all put on sweatpants and slippers and had cocktail hour on the deck. You can find me in Lou & Grey all the time!
For dinner, we made Mona Lisa pasta and sauce from home mixed with red peppers, kale and gorgonzola.
Birthday cupcakes and a Moana sing-along for dessert! We watched part of Titanic and got plenty of rest.
I was the first one up by 2 hours, so I made the coffee and spent a glorious morning reading my book unplugged from the internet.
Once the others were up we shared breakfast – eggs, Apple Scrapple, fruit – and then cleaned up and headed home.
It was so peaceful on the lake, and I hope we can go back again soon when it’s 95 degrees and we can swim!

That looks amazing! We rented a pontoon boat for my sister’s birthday a couple of years ago and it was the best, we definitely need to do that again! I am always the first one up and I love it. I love having that relaxing time to myself in the morning. The only problem is I’m totally ready to go by the time anyone else wakes up, I have to make a conscious effort to remember they just woke up and may want to ease into the day as well.

You have really been enjoying the great weather in all your posts lately. Makes me so jealous because I just happened to walk home all the way from work today – in the rain!
