You’d think that we’d be done with house stuff by now but things just keep on popping up!!! We made a few more minor repairs. Made closets look even more organized. Super-glued a ceiling fan piece back together (hope it holds!). Cleaned the bathroom ceiling again because something is causing caramel-looking droplets to form (that bathroom is now forbidden from being used for showers).
In fact, the two guest bedrooms and guest bath are now off limits to humans.
After all that, we’re still in our PJs!!!
We had lunch at 1PM and are digesting before we go workout later on and then head up to Kelsey‘s.
I made a Hugh Jass salad topped with Kelsey‘s goat cheese balls of last weekend plus a drizzle of agave and EVOO for dressing.
Plus Oikos mixed with 1/2 a cup of pumpkin, flax and Mix My Granola
BYW, the SNOW is completely GONE!
Happy Saturday!

looks like the perfect meal! I’m currently debating what I want for lunch since i’m eating out dinner and dessert tonight. I don’t want to go too, too hungry though

I love it when there’s snow in the morning and it melts away completely by the afternoon.
Your lunch looks wonderful!
Freya @ foodfitnessandfreya.wordpress.com says
Haha don’t you find that once you start tidying/fixing/dusting – even if you think you only have a tiny amount to do – you suddenly find LOADS more!? It’s like, the bit you’ve altered makes everything else seem worse :s it allwwwwaays happens with me!
Ok weird, this keeps happening…I never have greek yogurt for lunch, randomly I decided to today (topped with granola!) – and you do too!! It’s that great minds think alike thing again 😛
Have a good afternoon!
OC2Seattle says
I’m not a huge salad fan, but that one looks delish. And I totally became an Oikos addict after all the free smaples they handed out at the US Open. . . hmm, wonder what addiction I’ll come back from the Winter Olympics with?
Hannah says
That’s such a hilariously large bowl of salad! (Or a hilariously small bowl of yogurt, perhaps?) Yum! 🙂
Emily says
OH! I love that those bowls – they are the exact colors of my dining room!
Emily says
I was so excited about the bowls I added an extra that! 😛
Samantha says
I searched Kelsey’s site for the goat cheese balls. I couldn’t find a recipe….do you have it? TY
Kath says
Go ask her in her blog comments 🙂
Kori says
I always have those caramel-colored droplets on my bathroom ceiling. My home is more than 50-60 years old, so I’ve always attributed them to the ceiling being made from perhaps some other type of material than the present. :-/ Oh well, I hope you get your house sold soon! Your lunch looks great!
Erica Rose says
I was going to leave a regular comment, but this seems more appropriate of a place. The caramel colored drops are normal, you can just wipe them off, no harm done. It’s usually oil coming through the paint. Increasing the ventilation in the bathroom should help. Good luck!
Penny (Blonde Bibliophile) says
Your photography is always good, but it has been truly exceptional lately. So pretty!
Diana says
thats a great spoon! love it!
Heather (Heather's Dish) says

Your utensils and bowls are TOO cute. I love them! Thanks for the coconut tips – I added coconut flakes to my weekly list.
Lunch looks awesome, as usual 😀

Wow….I wish the snow around here would disappear that fast…we still have mounds as high as my waist! Though it sure is pretty when it falls, I love the pictures from this morning, the snow is always so pretty when it falls, I love going for walks when it looks like that.

Maya says
I WISH I could say all the snow in the DC area is gone! There are mountains of snow everywhere! Your snow pictures were pretty, but I have to say I’ a little sick of the snow around here.
kelli says
Can I just say I am absolutely in love with your SPOONS! every picture they are so quirky small and fun. Where did you get some of them? and staying in your pj’s most of the day is always fun 😛
Deva (Voracious Vorilee) says
LOVE the huge salad – it looks so tasty and fresh! Our snow isn’t gone yet – we still can’t see the ground underneath it!
christie @ honoring health says
hahaha, I love that you have made rooms off limits! I feel like I need to do that sometimes and we aren’t trying to sell our house! 😀
Tara says
Hey Kath, we have those carmel spots too! I had them in my old apt as well. Drove me nutts. From what I gather its from previous smokers. If you run into it again you need to prime your walls with a primer made to cover smoke. EWW! http://www99.epinions.com/content_370497195652. Good luck with the house! cheers
Kath says
Ewwww smokers!?!?! Our house doesn’t smell at all, but it does date to the 1980s so it wouldn’t surprise me.
Carolyn says
We got the caramel spots in our bathroom, too. I don’t know if the previous owners/renters smoked or not. I always assumed it was because we didn’t have a vent in there.
Chelsea (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun) says
Beautiful lunch! Those goat cheese balls sound exciting. I will have to give agave+EVOO a whirl sometime. As much as I love hummus as a salad dressing, I’m ready to switch things up a bit.
Cynthia (It All Changes) says
So sad that your beautiful snow is gone. I like it to stay until it gets to be that black from dirt color. Then it can go away.
Jules @ eatdrinklivelearn says
That is such a cute spoon! It reminds me of a treble clef. You’re lucky that all your snow is gone. I wish our 3 feet would go away too!
Jenn (www. j3nn.net ) says
I love Hugh Jasses! 🙂

Emily says
So those caramel-colored spots? They typically result from too much condensation – aka, not enough ventilation. I know it is snowy out there right now, but for future reference, if the bathroom does not have a fan, then opening a window for the duration of the shower (+ 30 minutes afterwards) works really well. Ideally, however, you should have a fan/vent in the bathroom. A fan/vent in the bathroom not only would suck in the moisture, but in doing so make it less likely that the wooden frames around your door and window will warp.
And, in case that wasn’t enough info, if you have a wood ceiling, the knots in the wood boards can make the caramel-spots worse. And the wood ceiling can warp from lack of a ventilation system.
Kath says
Thanks for the info! We do have a fan, but we never use it!
Kristilyn (My 29th Year) says
Lunch looks delicious – especially those goat cheese balls!
I can’t even think of where we would begin if we had to sell our house … there would be a huge list of things to do! You guys are doing great. 🙂
