Have you ever been to Fab? It’s a design marketplace with modern, colorful and quirky design items. I was invited to share some of my favorites from the site in a post, and I have to say – I had so much fun browsing everything! From vintage-y home décor to modern organization gadgets to gourmet foodie items, Fab has something for everyone – all at great prices. The Kitchen and Home categories were my favorites. Just when I thought I had my list complete, I found something else I loved. Behold, foodie + home favs:
1. The Original Cuppow Lid. This neat lid turns a jar into a drinkable container – one that won’t slosh around.
2. Spatulas Worktop Saver. The most beautiful, colorful cutting board I’ve ever seen. I want matching spatulas!
3. Reclaimed Painted “K”. I love anything vintage – for both the texture and character. I’d love this K for my bedroom. Perhaps the letter M to go with it.
4. Reclaimed Wood Breakfast Tray. These trays are both rustic and adorable!
5. Four Seasons Tea Towel Set. The colors…. the produce. I love these for my kitchen and my blog linen collection.
6. Spoon Necklace. Every blogger needs one, right? Charming.
7. Skillet Pumpkin Sauce. I can only imagine all the uses for this.
8. Friends Pack Sea Salt. Rosemary…honey…pink peppercorns. My salads would love these.
9. Stainless Steel Canisters. To get the perfect blend of vintage + modern in one’s kitchen, these would sparkle on any kitchen countertop.
10. Bicycle Mitt Set. “Put a bike on it” should be the new Portlandia clip. So cute!

Love that spoon necklace!
Jessica @ Burlap and Butter Knives says
LOVE the necklace!!! Is there a whisk too? Oh I am so heading to check it out!!
And the mason jar lid!!! Gah!!!!!! Now, what to drink in it?! 😉
But in all seriousness, that is perfect for a hydration container while I garden!
Maureen says
I adore everything on your list, but I MUST get that spoon necklace. Way too cute! 🙂
Maria Tadic says
I’m so glad you shared this website! It’s awesome…and that foodie section! Wallet watch out!
Anele @ Success Along the Weigh says
I am so raiding that site! LOOOOOVE the cutting board, canisters and tea towels. Off to window shop!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
That totally looks like a website that could just suck all my time as I look around at all the cool (err…FAB) stuff. 😉
Emily says
Great stuff! Love that cutting board and necklace.
Kim says
I have number 1 and a couple of number 5! Love them!

Hey, Long time reader (~2008) first time commenter. I’ve loved reading your blog over the years but have to confess that the new formats you’re trying aren’t my favorites. As a fellow nutrition professional (PhD) and someone who has struggled with my weight over time I really enjoyed and was often inspired by your ability to balance a busy schedule and healthful lifestyle. Today I opened this post and thought I was on YHL (another wonderful website–but you have something different to offer!) Anyways, I’m not against sponsored posts–you have to feed that *adorable* baby–but since you asked for feedback lately I thought I’d chime in that I’d rather see you highlighting food-related content.
jennie says
I like this post 🙂
Emily says
agreed completely
Jen says
Agree. And I am surprised to see a sponsored post on KERF when you’ve so adamantly said you wouldn’t do them, even as recently as your survey posts.
KathEats says
I said I wasn’t planning to go seek out a bunch of product reviews since that’s not where the interest lies, but sponsored posts are actually something I’ve started doing in recent months (first on BERF). I kept the focus on foodie + home (my niche) here and would only choose to work with companies I actually think are cool/healthy/delicious.
Mary Catherine says
I agree with the others. I’ve been a big fan reading since 2008 and although I adore you, I only check in about once a week now. These product sponsored reviews are even more of a turn off 🙁
J says
I have to agree with this. It’s your blog, Kath, and thus your decision what you post, but I hate feeling like I’m reading a sales pitch. Maybe stick the “sponsored post” or “product review” tag at the top/in the title so readers who don’t enjoy those posts will know to skip it?
Karen says
Kath – You know I have been a longtime supporter of you in all of your endeavors through the years, and personally adore you, but you also know me to be honest. In my opinion, this post strikes me as tacky esp. given you haven’t even sampled the products you are personally endorsing. I think this move to sponsored posts cheapens your brand and just further polarizes folks re. KERF and your personality in general. I thought your idea to survey your readers re. the future direction of KERF was terrific, but it’s effectiveness is completely negated when you ignore expressed opinions. If product reviews aren’t desired by your readership, what makes you think that these sorts of sponsored product placements would be met with a positive reaction? Thanks for listening…
KathEats says
I appreciate your loyalty Karen, but sponsored posts are part of the future of blogging so if there is to be a KERF, I need to roll with the punches. The survey was helpful feedback but it doesn’t mean I can’t ever touch those topics again – it just gave me focus. Please don’t use my willingness to share the results against me. Ultimately I have to make decisions that balance my readers, my family and my brand.
Jen says
Oh my gosh guys – it’s a blog post!!! Don’t take things in life so darn seriously. Relax. Maybe tomorrow you’ll find something you like better. Life is a series of ups and downs – you can’t always get what you want or what you think is right.
Sam says
I shop at Fab, and be aware she’s getting kickbacks everytime you guys click these and order. She’ll get $5 credit per purchase. She should have stated that at least. :/
KathEats says
If that’s the case no one told me. I don’t think that’s true. I would have said if these were affiliate links
Denise says
I totally agree. I’m a first time commenter too although I’ve been reading the blog for a couple years. I find with the new format, I don’t come here too often and I’m less likely to do so with these types of posts.
deva by definition says
These are really awesome, and I do love the oven mitt and potholder. The cutting board is super awesome!
Lauren says
Have you purchased any of these items to use personally?
KathEats says
No, it’s a wish list, but I’m going to get the spoon necklace I think. Maybe the linens + cutting board too. Haven’t had time to shop!
ES says
Eep, then why are you endorsing it? I think you should add that disclaimer. A lot of people trust your opinions!!
KathEats says
I think I made it clear this was a gallery of “picks” and not products I had tested at home.
Elisabeth says
I’ve never heard of Fab…but now I’m obsessed;)
Natalie @ will jog for food says
Great picks! Love the spoon necklace 🙂
Emily @ Main-Eats says
What an AWESOME website! Super fun and cute stuff! You always have such great taste Kath!
Elyse says
So excited that you featured the Cuppow! They are made right down the street from where I live and are such a great little local company. It’s awesome to see them getting play elsewhere.
Kerry @ Totes My Oats says
I’ve never heard of Fab. Thanks for the introduction!
Caitlin says
OOOOH. I always am on the hunt for a new tray. We have three and use them all the time!
Tracy says
This site is totally new to me!! Awesome…thanks for sharing!
Shel@PeachyPalate says
The pumpkin sauce and salt…want and want and the linen is really cute too!
Kristen @ Change of Pace says
I just opened up almost all of the links haha! Love all of it 🙂
Jenn says
So this is like pinterest in a way only you can actually purchase the items not just save the pictures?
KathEats says
In the layout And categories, yes
Averie @ Averie Cooks says
Where has Fab been all my life? That is a dangerous little site $$ and I could have a field day. Thanks Kath for doing this post!
Hope says
I’m a little confused by this. This company contacted you and asked that you show us what items you would like to purchase but haven’t actually purchased? So they’ve just paid you to show us links?
I’m not intending to be mean or rude at all and I hope that’s not the way that the question comes off, I’m just trying to figure this out.
Diana @ Eating Made Easy says
Great picks! Fab is addicting.
Dez says
While posts like these aren’t my favorite, I definitely understand why they exist. PLENTY of the blogs I read have sponsored posts and I acknowledge that they are how bloggers keep their site running. And every once in awhile sponsored posts actually do steer me towards something I like. So keep up the good work Kath, if this is what it takes for me to continue to get your content then I’m all for it.
Maggie says
^ Yup. This. I wish more people understood that all the wonderful people who create great stuff on the web need to make a living too — and sometimes that means sponsored posts. But the awesome thing about the internet is that the “advertising” can come in the form of Kath finding cool stuff on a cool site and telling us about it. I’ll take that! Kath, you’re doing a fabulous job 🙂
Jennifer says
Agreed!
Emily @ Life on Food says
I love the cutting board. I just got some nut butter from there too. It was quite the deal.
Andrea D. says
You are doing a fabulous job with balancing everything and you are still an inspiration to me. The Portlandia reference made me smile SO BIG! Put a bird on it!
Katie @ SkinnyMinnieMoves says
LOVE the spoon necklace!
Emily @ Emily's Olives says
Yeah, I actually love this post, to jump on that band wagon. It steered me towards an awesome new kitchen product site and it’s not like you do sponsored posts every post. I like the variety! Plus I feel like the readers of your blog are the perfect audience for a site like this, so it is related to your subject matter!
Lucy says
Seeing as this is Kaths Job I think it’s perfectly reasonable to assume she needs to make money from it- isn’t that part of the motivation for the rest of the world in their jobs? To get paid for your passion, or un-ideal job, whatever career situation is currently yours. I think this post is quite harmless and more like a friend sharing a cool website with her friends, like a girly pick of things shed like to get from it. For the most of it Kath is sharing food pics baby pics and other topics, so it’s like a selection box not knowing what your going to get!
Jen says
Yes! Exactly! People need to relax and things things for what they are. Everything is a sales pitch or needs sponsors nowadays….I went to a tennis match a few weeks ago and between games a giant ad for a car ot TV show would come on. It was so awkward…but someone pays and supports the ability to put those events together.
Gina @HealthLoveandChocolate says
I found Fab a couple months ago and love it. I have spent hours perusing the food and home sections.
Lucy says
Ps have just followed link to fab and have seen so much stuff for our new house and new bulldog!
Katherine says
I’ve never heard of it before – i’ll have to check it out! looks neat.

Jenna says
I think you should be honest with your readers and let them know that you get FAB dollars every time they click through your post and buy something. I’ve read other FAB sponsored posts and the bloggers are more transparent about getting the referrals money.
KathEats says
I don’t – they aren’t affiliate links. I would have disclosed if so. Fab just sponsored this post.
Jenna says
My apologies. I assumed they were referrals because the URLs have “katheats” as part of them. BTW I have bought a lot of stuff from FAB through the years and while I love the selection, sometimes things take almost a MONTH to get to me. Buyers beware: don’t expect to get things quickly.
KathEats says
I think that’s just for internal tracking.
Kara says
I think this might be something worth confirming with fab.com one way or the other, based on the comments on this post.
KathEats says
It’s not an affiliate link…
Ginger says
But you are making money from this, no? Companies can track click thrus without adding katheats to the URL so that has to be for your profits, whether it is technically an “affiliate link” or not.
KathEats says
No I’m not
Michelle says
Okayyy so there’s still some confusion that I think you’d be eager to clear up, Kath. If Fab sponsored the post, they are compensating you in some way. Or else what does it mean that they “sponsored” the post? Either they pay you for the post somehow or you get benefit from click-thrus. Yet your comments seem to say they have not paid you at all? Or are not, at least, paying you in click-thrus?
KathEats says
They sponsored the post – yes that means compensated. Think of it as advertising for the brand. The links are not affiliate links. The “katheats” tags are simply for them to track return on investment. I have no intention of ever deceiving my readers.
Jennifer says
I loved this post! I love your style Kath and since we have similar taste, this was fun. Thinking about getting that vintage tray myself. Nothing about this post bothered me in the slightest… Except those who need to take a chill pill!
Tonya says
I like the new format. I think we’re getting MORE with less from you. 🙂
A lot of my favorite bloggers have cut down on their posts/switched up on their format. Daily posters are now showing up maybe 3x a week and you know what? I love it! There’s so much life to live outside of the PC! 🙂
I took a blog reading hiatus for about 3 months because I realized that these people whose lives I tune into everyday are LIVING their gift and I’m just watching from the sidelines. During that hiatus I wrote, produced and directed my first short film! It’s in post production now. I found extra time to do it when I substituted writing for blog reading time. My point? Maybe I/we were a little too invested in these blogs. Let these bloggers live their lives and do what they need to do. Think of this like a magazine. There are some articles you like and some you don’t. Just skip the ones you don’t. For example, I found BERF very cute and read all of the posts up until my hiatus but I probably disagreed with 80% of the content! (I’m sorry. I’m young, but old school. I come from a big family where people are always shootin’ out healthy babies without all the new apps, and calendering and fancy book readin’. LOL! ) I read it ‘cuz it was cute and entertaining and I like babies and it was a part of the KERF adventure.
My point is this: blogs are here for OUR entertainment and for THEIR living. I’m not saying you can’t voice an opinion in a respectful way, (which you guys seem to have done) just don’t get so offended over posts. LOL
Thanks, Kath for keeping me entertained when I’m bored at work with recipe ideas, wine and beer suggestions; for encouraging me to go for walks by posting about your walks, and for helping me to be healthier and save money by choosing home cooked, REAL FOOD over fast food.
Oh and who doesn’t smile when they see Maze-y’s cute lil face at the end of your posts?! 🙂
KathEats says
🙂 Congrats on your film!
Laura in Pittsburgh says
Great post Kath! All the products you like are terrific and totally my style – except I would go for the vintage L. 🙂
I’m not a shopper myself so need all the help I can get finding cool websites with great products. Keep up the good work! Loving your new and varied posts. FYI also a long time reader. (Since the beginning.)
Laura (Blogging Over Thyme) says
I wish websites didn’t require you to sign-up or log in! I was excited to check out the products more and signed up with Facebook, but have already received a multitude of emails. I realize its helpful to them, but its a big turn off as a consumer!
Hope says
I don’t have any issues with sponsored posts, I’m just confused by this one. I don’t understand the point of simply showing links to items that you haven’t used. If you had, say, bought an item or were gifted an item from them and loved it and then talked about it and showed a list of other awesome items they have, I would understand this. Sorry for the run on sentence.
Remember the Old Navy sponsored post? Those were great. Bloggers tried out items and then wrote about them. I actually went out a bought a few pieces for myself after reading about them.
This post just doesn’t make a lot of sense.
I wrote a similar comment and it wasn’t approved. This comment and my last comment are following your comment policy. I have not been rude or disrespectful, I am just asking a question. Maybe I’m misunderstanding something. By deleting comments like mine, you are painting a VERY unfair picture for your sponsors/advertisers.
Claire says
Oh give me a break. It’s for FUN! It’s a blog post!! Is this the only blog you’ve ever read? Tons of blogs I read do these wish-list style posts for fashion, home decor, baby stuff, etc. Some are sponsored, some are not. You are making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Lucy says
Huh? Last week most people were hating on that Old Navy deal and those bloggers DID receive actual product. I agree with Claire – plenty of blogs do wish-lists as a way to get style ideas out there. You sound like you’re just nitpicking.
Hope says
No, this isn’t just a fun blog post, she’s being paid for this. And, no, I didn’t realize that it’s standard practice in the blog world to be paid to simply list a bunch of items that you know nothing about. Doesn’t make much sense to me but I guess I’ll just avoid these posts in the future.
It probably seems like I’m making a mountain out of a mole hill because I’m a little annoyed that my original comment, which said essentially said the same thing in a lot less words, was deleted by Kath. Still not sure what the reason for that was.
Lisa @bitesforbabies says
Great website! Have you ever checked out Yoox?!
KathEats says
I haven’t! Going now..
Lisa @bitesforbabies says
Much pricier name brand stuff BUT it’s worth it to check in often because they have great sales!!
Alyssa says
I can’t wait to check it out! Such cute stuff 🙂 For home decor, I tend to enjoy browsing in person, but for clothes, I prefer to shop online!!
Sam says
I guess I’m in the minority but I liked this post.
Alison says
I got a spoon necklace (just the eating part of the spoon…) at a German Christmas market this past Christmas. They had forks, knives, etc… I just had to have one!! I love it. It would actually be a simple DIY project for those who are crafty.
Avery @ Southern Belle Living Well says
Thank you so much for posting about this! Love this site!
Sara@fitcupcaker says
I bet #7 skillet pumpkin spice is amazing
Lynn @ the actor's diet says
First of all, fab post (ha.) second, I have a fork/spoon/knife necklace I just wore yesterday. Third, this is your blog and your life and it all evolves. I know you know this already but sometimes it helps to hear. Having to defend your decisions can be annoying.
Christina @ The Beautiful Balance says
Love the Cuppow lids! I have never seen them.
elizabeth says
I use my Cuppow every day, love it!
Karen says
I couldn’t browse without giving my email. Tried to find the hidden X to close the window for registering but it wasn’t found. Is it just me?
