This weekend I escaped back to a decade where things were more carefree and I was learning long division and how to tease my super straight hair. Back to the 80s!
The Legwarmers were in town, and their shows never disappoint. They’re three hours long, and there’s not a song they play that everyone in the room doesn’t know. Saturday night the Jefferson was packed, and I had such a fun girls night out on the town!
We got ready at my house and headed downtown to Mono Loco for dinner. Starting with a few Spice-a-ritas!
And some shooters the owner sent out on the house! Ahhh!
I shared this coconut shrimp, calamari and a burrito with my girlfriends. And some chips of course!
The show was a BLAST (from the past) and we had such a good time dancing!
Gab-a-licious!
Lauren even made it up onto the stage! Good golly!
This is how the night ended. I’d say Lauren won : )
Earlier in the day, Sarah and I took the kiddos to Short Pump to run a few errands and pay a visit to our favorite ACAC location! We shared a glass of wine, and had chef salads at the cafe after our workouts and showers.
And we took the kids for ice cream before the hour drive back.
Hope you guys had a great weekend! I’ll be sharing more details about my Friday night adventure later this week!

From Amazon and comes in a million colors! It is my favorite thing about 80s nights because it’s so convenient : ) Maybe I’ll start wearing it full time…

Never get tired of The Legwarmers!! I haven’t seen them with their new singer yet. Better/worse/same?

I never saw the old one, but I LOVE the ‘new’ girl!

your skin looks great, what do you use?

Thank you! Here’s a post I did not too long ago about my routine. I’ve been using Paula’s Choice for a few years now and love it. I’ve also gotten a few more facials in the past year knowing aging is on the horizon 🙂

If I remember your age correctly, weren’t you only a few years old in the 1980’s? I’m in my 30’s and I definitely associate my youth (and long division education) with the 90’s. Looks like a fun night to escape normal life!
KathEats says
Well you’re right long division was probably a stretch – maybe it was just adding for the first time! I only lived my first 8 years in the 80s, and I do think in general I relate more to the early 90s.

Your friend that got up and danced told me she lovedy Hello Kitty fedora when we were at the bar! Ha! Went with my college bff…we had a blast, too! Good times!

Haha!! That sounds JUST like Lauren!

Please, please, please tell me all the details of your eyeliner. Long time reader, rare commenter, but you look so beautiful and I want to copy your eyeliner technique! You’re positively glowy.
KathEats says
I’m assuming you’re talking to me and not Cindy Crawford up there?! I’ve been using Noir Cosmetics Long-Wear Eyeliner that I bought full size from Birchbox well over a year ago. That’s about it! I just line the bottom about 3/4 of the way.

The 80’s, dude… even if you didn’t exactly had your teenage years there, it’s impossible to deny the magic in that weirdly colorful decade, at least in terms of music. Thanks for sharing!
