School’s out for the summer! And Grammie + Pea came for a visit.
End Of School Fun
School’s Out!
Birch did his last day of pre-K, and Mazen moves up to 6th grade. But chill time at home was short lived because Birch started camp at his same school this week (for the last time!) and Mazen spent the week at fishing camp! Gotta keep these boys busy outdoors.
Grammie + Pea
My parents came to visit Wednesday to Sunday!
Gus’s Gift
Gus always gets a gift from Grammie and he begs her to bring it out right away! He’s sniffing her bags immediately!
Summer Soccer
They arrived on Wednesday when I had a soccer game in the calendar, so they went out to dinner at Riverside with the boys and Thomas and then came to the game afterwards! They said they were impressed that I could still run fast at my age – haha!
Girls Shopping Day
Mom and I went shopping just like we used to do in the olden days! We ended up getting these matching dresses from LOFT! I also got four of these tees that are the perfect length, sleeve length, and V-neck for summer. (It also comes in crab/lobster!) And these Riviera shorts!
After shopping we had Chopt salads and then hot black tea to bring our energy levels back up!
Pea still had some energy since he didn’t go shopping:
End of School Party
On Thursday night we had an end of school party for the boys. We made Blue Apron enchiladas!
And of course we had cake! Funfetti and Cookie Dough cupcakes from Vivi’s to be exact!
Mom also brought confetti poppers and gave a speech.
On Friday mom and dad took the boys to Bricks and Minifigs. They were thrilled and each picked out a little celebration gift for their good grades.
Fridays After Five
We took the crew to Fridays After Five on the most perfect summer evening!
Mom and dad got to meet a lot of my friends from ACAC too! Everyone was out on the town.
Things got a little wild that evening when we played Telestrations in the grass…
And then Mazen and Fabi had a pushup competition! Mazen almost beat him at 30!

Saturday Fun
On Saturday morning Thomas and I both got to go to the ACAC class while Mom held down the fort with breakfast! I had a welcome team waiting upon my return.
We picked up a dozen Bellair Market sandwiches to take out to North Garden for lunch with Thomas’s family. Yum!
Saturday night
While Thomas and I went on our overnight to Oakdene, mom and dad took Birch to an end of school party and then to Brazos for dinner. They did some painting too.

Fridays after Five looks great fun and lovely weather too, summer hasn’t actually arrived in the UK yet…

My sister is there and looks cold haha!
Ellen says
Your parents are REALLY good grandparents!
Kath Younger says
<3 yes they are! Both sides. We are lucky!
Liz says
Where is your mom’s shirt from? I’ve been looking for a basic striped crewneck that isn’t super tight just like that!
Kath Younger says
I’ll see if she can respond here!

I’ve been reading since before Mazen was born. I know you probably explained how Pea got his name. I would go back to the Archives but would be up all night down the rabbit hole. It feels creepy to “know you”, knowing that I 1) don’t, and 2) it’s a one-way friendship.
Can you remind me of the story? It probably has something to do with the three bears, doesn’t it?
Kath Younger says
Haha good question! He wanted to be called “Peepaw” but when it got shorted to “Pee” we didn’t want to spell it that way! So we changed it to the veggie rather than the potty word : )
