Three cheers for fun weeks!
I was lucky enough to get to go out for restaurant week so some of my BFFs last week! Pink lipstick – check! Curled hair – check!
We started our night at Alley Light where I had a Manhattan.
And we dined at Bizou where we paired three drinks with three courses.
Smoked salmon with fried green tomatoes –
Herby Trout with mushroom risotto with red wine –
And sweet potato dumplings in an amazing caramel sauce with port –
Such a fun evening!
This weekend Matt went to Charlotte to visit his friend Conor who is a brewer at Birdsong Brewing, so Mazen and I were on our own. I felt very safe knowing there was a firefighter in the house with me! In case of emergency.
We made hummus together to take over to our friends’ house for Friday night dinner.
Emily made this AMAZING Mediterranean salad, which I want to replicate as a blog recipe very soon.
For the main course she made meatballs and warm pita. Everything was delicious!
I got cozy on the couch with a mug of tea Friday night and started this season of the Bachelor. Is it just me or were the “get to know the girls” videos extra cheesy this year?! Like way beyond baseline cheesy.
Breakfast was an egg, a banana with almond butter plus a cappuccino! I just bought a Nespresso machine that came with the fancy milk frother and am in love. More on that soon!
We just went for a walk for exercise on Saturday – took it easy. We had lunch at Brazos with the Struckmanns!
We shared this lovely chips platter,
I had 2 tacos, Sarah had 100
Saturday afternoon M and I enjoyed the warmer-than-usual weather and ran a few errands. We picked up a Mona Lisa lasagna for dinner with friends.
This wine from Whole Foods was epic!!!
Lasagna, salad, conversation
Sunday morning I had a locally made english muffin with butter and jam, a fried egg and grapefruit. Plus espresso!
I went to a noon power yoga class with my friend Emily while her husband was kind enough to watch our sons for a playdate. The class was killer – so much sweating!
I ate a leftover taco and salad for lunch and leftover lasagna and kale salad for dinner. Easy like Sunday morning afternoon!

Looks like a lovely weekend!
Why do you say that your friend ate 100 tacos?
KathEats says
Just an inside joke

Fun weekend! I’ve been dying to try Brazos, but never seem to make it over there when I’m in Cville visiting family. Is it some kind of an inside joke that Sarah had 100 tacos? Haha.
KathEats says
Yup : )
polly says

love you Kath.
As always Mazen is a pumpkin and glad you had a fun weekend!
XOXO

What a cute firefighter! Your weekends always make me tired just reading about them … lol. I’m a hardcore introvert/homebody … my idea of a good weekend is one where I never have to leave the house 🙂

Such a small world! Conor is my mom’s best friend’s son! Their beer is amazing
KathEats says
Wow that’s a fun connection 🙂
Kori says
I would be in such big trouble if I could have espresso/a cappuccino at the push of a button. Lol! It looks fabulous, though! Awesome food, and your weekend looks like it was a ton of fun.
Amanda says
Kath, you always look great, but you look extra freaking pretty in these pics! Love it!!!
KathEats says
Thank you 🙂

I have a Nespresso Machine and an Aeroccino and LOVE THEM! We have had ours for about a year, and it makes the mornings so simple and delicious. If you don’t know about them, because I certainly didn’t and felt like a fool for almost a year, when you order your capsules you can add on recycling bags FOR FREE that you then just arrange a pick-up for or send off at a local UPS store. Our closest Sur La Table was an hour away, so our capsules built up FOREVER. Just a thought if you didn’t notice it!! 🙂 Enjoy!
KathEats says
I know! I love this about them!

Fun costumes that Mazen has! Our son would love the fireman outfit as he LOVES firetrucks!
