Good morning!
I stayed up late last night organizing my closet! And by closet I mean the Queen Room! I went through every piece of clothing and gave it a hard ponder. Tried some on. And asked myself: “Does this make me feel fabulous?” or “Is this super comfy and useful?” ; ) I hope to have all the details of this reorganization soon!
Breakfast was oats made with peanut flour. Yesterday Faith said she put some in her oatmeal. I always forget I have this stuff! I stirred 1/4 a cup into our two-serving pot. Unfortunately it didn’t knock my socks off. The flour gave it a dry, clumpy texture and a almost stale flavor that I did not love. Not doing that again!
The rest of my bowl was fabulous!
The Mix
- 1/3 cup oats, milk, water
- 1/2 banana
- Pinch salt
- 2 tbsp peanut flour
- Crumbled crumbly granola bar (Yum!)
- Nutty’s Butterscotch
- Amped-up Brazil nut butter
Coffee in my beautiful floral mug. Love both the shape and colors in these new mugs.
Full speed aheadddddddddddddddddd!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
That looks like such an amazing breakfast Kath!! I need to get myself some of that Nutty’s Butterscotch asap! have a fabulous day 🙂

I just re-organized my closet 2 days ago and it was a big burden off of my shoulders haha, my room feels so much more clear and I don’t have to dig through what I do and don’t like! I am also LOVING all the colors of your breakfast 🙂 MMMM, it looks so yummy! Have a great full speed ahead day ;p
Hope says
What a delicious looking breakfast! 🙂 I really need to come over your house for breakfast. My oats never turn out looking like that!
Cathy B. @ Bright Bakes says
I just might have to cave in and order those mugs…gorgeous!

Amanda (Eating Up) says
Good to know peanut flour isn’t great in oatmeal. Made a mental note!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
I need more organization in my life! Peanut flour makes amazing waffles! I love that stuff! Sorry the oats weren’t so great. Have a great day Kath!
Suki says
I just bought a hanging rack at Home Depot, and I’m hoping that it is sturdy enough. I’m planning on moving all my dresses into the guest bedroom! 🙂 Like a small version of your queen room.
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
I need so much help with organizing. I need your tips.

Vanessa says
I need to go through my clothes so bad. I’m horrible at keeping things I hope to fit into again. Love those mugs!!
Erin @ Shortcut to Bliss says

I am not a fan of the peanut flour! Tried it a few different ways + even tried the chocolate PB2…no thanks 🙂
Michele @ Healthy Cultivations says
I have yet to try the peanut flour, but I have some on its way in a TJ care package from home. I look forward to giving it a whirl.
And yes, spring is just around the corner!!
Liz says
I’m looking forward to your posts from Montana. I hope your going to do some about eating healthy & exercising while traveling since you’ll be gone for a long period of time.
Estela @ Weekly Bite says
I need to do some serious closet organizing myself!! Its long over due 🙂
faith @ gracefulfitness says
Sorry to wreck your oats! I am a fan of the combo but I think stevia helps a lot.
Do I get to check out your closet discard pile? I am liking that brown sweater a lot!
Meri @ Meri Goes Round says
Granted, I’m a major nerd about spoons (I always use the long stemmed iced tea spoon) but I am so loving that spoon.
Also, my favorite way to use peanut flour is to dilute it a LOT, heat it up, add some salt, sugar, and sweet curry spice, and pour it over noodles or oatmeal or pancakes or… well, anything. I think it’s kind of gross unless it’s mixed very well into a thinner sauce. Maybe this will help? At least peanut flour isn’t as expensive as some specialty “peanut butter foods”
Allison @ Happy Tales says
“Does this make me feel fabulous?!” LOVE this!!! Can’t wait to read more on what you’re doing.
Lauren at KeepItSweet says
Glad to know that peanut flour wasn’t a terrific addition, I have thought about mixing that into my oats so many times!
Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) says
Closet reorganizing and then subsequent donation is a key thing! I love doing it…the purge/edit/donate/reorganize cycle is KEY. Espi with a hubs and kid. Kid stuff multiples in their closets btw. It triples in quantity overnight, really 🙂
Christin@purplebirdblog says
I love closet organization, although I am definitely guilty of not doing it enough! Something about the whole purge factor really is refreshing!
Natalie @ Will Jog For Food says
Looks healthy AND decadent! What a goooooooood combo 🙂
Kate (What Kate is Cooking) says
I love that spoon! I add peanut flour to my oatmeal, but I mix it up with water and plop it on top with regular water. I’m not a fan of the texture it gives when it’s mixed into the oats.
Ashley J says
I’m super excited for your posts on organization!! I am such a dork, I know. 🙂
Nicole, RD says
I want that coffee mug! Too cute!
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
I almost made oats with soy flour today after my attempt at pancakes failed miserably..but opted out of it just because of the thought of the texture. sorry it didn’t work out!

i’m hosting a clothing swap soon so i’ve been emptying out my closet as well. it’s tough love!
Elizabeth@The Sweet Life says
One of my favorite things to do is sort through clothes and give old ones away! It feels so good to create SPACE, physically and in my brain. Can’t wait to hear your org tips.
ashley nicole says
where is that spoon from? I LOVE it!!! i’m always looking for fun spoons! and good for you to ask yourself what made you feel fabulous as “throw away criteria”!
Namaste Gurl says
Yeah, I’m not crazy about the whole peanut flour obsession. I’ve stirred it into my oats, smoothies, yogurt and even ate as a dipping sauce. I guess it just doesn’t have the true “peanuty” taste to it, it’s off a bit 🙂
Eileen says
So random … I just decided to read a couple of your favorite posts. I happened to pick the one where you saw Reese Witherspoon at a restaurant, and you recommended Trentadue Old Patch Red. That is my FAVORITE, FAVORITE wine. I can only get it in one wine store that I know of, so I buy a couple of bottles at a time. (*blush*)
I didn’t read your blog back then, so I’ll have lots of reading to entertain me as I catch up!
Lauren says
I’ve heard the peanut flour isn’t the best in hot oats. What about pancakes? I bet that would be better.
Kara says
I love the feeling you get after you’re done reorganizing. I really need to go through my clothes and make a give away pile!
Katie says
Love the spoon! I was just saying on my blog today how much I love them!
Peanut Flour has just been brought into my life and I LOVE it!
Hope you have a great day Kath !!
chelsey @ clean eating chelsey says
I really nlike peanut flour in my oatmeal. I usually have to sweeten it up a tad and use more water than normal!
CathyK @ www.1970kikiproject.wordpress.com says
hey kath!
did you happen to see the runner’s world website yesterday?? check out the january 5th edition of “racing news” – in the section “shannon rowbury goes in search of healthy carbs,” your blog gets a shout-out, i do believe!

I like how peanutbutter flour is making its rounds; where did you get yours? the only place I’ve seen it is trader joes

Trader Joes – which I don’t think is as good as PB2
Meaghan @ ohreillywrites.wordpress.com says

I have been meaning to reorganize my closet for a while now..I somehow always manage to find other things to do 🙂
Breakfast looks amazing as usual!
Ellen@fatgirlwearingthin says
It’s so funny how whenever I end up at your blog I am almost always eating oatmeal. It is 1:22 pm right now and I never eat oatmeal during this time of day but here I am, oatmeal in bowl – you on my computer screen. I think it’s subconscious – LOL
Justeen @ Blissful Baking says
Your bowl of oatmeal puts mine to shame! I had steel cut oats this morning, but no fancy toppings like yours. Just a little ground flax seed mixed in. I definitely need to work on my creativity! 🙂
Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run] says
The top 2 photos are stellar!!
Freya (Brit Chick Runs) says
Oh I’ve put peanut flour in my oatmeal and LOVED it! I think it absorbs liquid a lot so you need extra – tho I like thick oats 🙂
Amy says
Omg I love that spoon!! It’s so neat looking, I want one! Oats look delish as always too!
Jen says
I love your spoon!!! Have a great day 🙂

kaila @ healthy helper blog! says
I love that spoon!!! where do you get all your cute cutlery!?!?! I am always looking for mini spoons but cant find them anywhere :(! Please share your mini spoon secrets lol!
sueP says
I like to take the peanut flour and mix it up with almond milk, not so it’s the consistency of PB; much looser than that. Then I pour it over, stir it in my oats. It wouldn’t clump and thicken your oats that way. You might prefer it!
Lisa (bakebikeblog) says
I dont think I have even seen peanut flour in Australia…must go searching!
Anna @ ciaotochow says
I actually love to organize my room/closet. One of the first things I did on my break from school was completely de-clutter my room – you know, all those random odds & ends from like 4th grade (50 meter hurdle ribbon, anyone?). I feel so much better with a clean space. Plus, there’s room for all my new Christmas gifts & gadgets!
Lisa Fine - lisasfoods says
Love hearing about your closet organization. I have a large bag of clothing to bring to our consignment shop, cause I was finding that I never wore them. My new rule is if it hasn’t been worn in two years, out it goes. I hate to waste clothes (so I’m much more cautious before I buy now), but I also hate to see things collect dust in the closet.
Kath says
The spoon is one I picked up in Kenya!

And Easter Egg refers to the COLORS in the linens!!

Too bad the peanut flour didn’t work. I’m still trying to find some uses for that stuff.
Hannah says
I’m kinda glad you’re not that keen on the peanut flour – makes me feel less sad about not being able to access it myself. The Nutty butters still turn me green, though!
Larbs says
I organized my closet today too!
megan @ blackberries for jam says
I used to think peanut flour was a little blah, but now I mix it up with a sprinkle of salt and a dash of maple syrup until it is the consistency of peanut butter and then plop it over my oats. Amazing!
Mrs. Life says
Hey I checked on your Queen Room post and I really like how your organized your room. So neat! We have same thing in common, I love head bands too! You just gave me an idea where to keep my headbands and hairdryer. LOL Your fabulous bowl makes me crave for peanut butter!!!
