Whole lotta packing going on!
AND
Whole lotta running!
I ran a different this morning downtown and back and ended up doing 5 miles. I think that’s the most I’ve ran all summer!? It was kind of hard, but a good run overall. I had to stop and walk at the top of 2 big hills!
Back at home overnight oats were waiting for me after a cold shower
The Usual Mix
- 1/3 cup raw oats
- 1/3 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/2 banana
- Pinch salt
- Pinch cinnamon
–> Fridge overnight
This morning: Cville Cluster, Jam According to Daniel and Smucker’s Natural
Also on the menu: Adagio Tea. I blog reader told me the coconut was amazing and I ended up ordering three of their vanillay flavors, including BIRTHDAY CAKE!
I tried the birthday this morning – it has actual sprinkles in it!
It was a nice smooth black tea, but I wish it had had a slightly sweeter taste (it wasn’t sweet at all). Very good though! Can’t wait to try the coconut!
Karen is taking me to the airport in an hour, so I’ve got to gather the 1,000 little things I need for my trip like my cell phone charger and snacks. I hate this part of packing!
Still listening to movie tunes…
Becca says
Cool teas! I love fun and creative tea blends.
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
I’m the worst packer ever, no matter how many lists I make… I still need to try the PB&J combo for my oats. Have a great day!
Katie @ Nourishing Flourishing says
Packing is my least favorite… but at least you got some sprinkles in to start your day! 😉 Smooth travels!
Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance says
I hate packing too 🙁 Have a good time!
Cait's Plate says
Ah good luck and safe travels! Have SO MUCH fun!
Congrats on the run – there’s no better way to kick off a day of travel 🙂
PS – Sometimes it scares me how similar our brain seems to work in terms of food. ALL I wanted this morning was peanut butter and jelly (regular) oats. I didn’t get to have them, but I’ve literally been dreaming about it for days! I feel like a part of me got to have it since you did for breakfast so thank you for helping squash that craving 😉
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
Birthday tea?! The sprinkles in that are awesome. Maybe some appropriately flavored creamer would be in order?
Angie @ Musings of a Violet Monkey says
Packing goes so much more smoothly for me with a list. Otherwise I’m likely to forget something super-important – like a charger or the like.
Good luck, and safe travels to BlogHer. 🙂

Holly @ The Runny Egg says
Those teas sound really good — I love that it has sprinkles in there!
Yep, the things you pack last are what you use every day and are probably some of the most important things to bring with you!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
Yeah, the end of packing is the worst, b/c I tend to forget the little things!!
I did a little over 4 miles today (HIIT intervals)–running, and it felt amazing!!! I love how a good, fast run can perk up the day. ENJOY your trip 🙂
rumfunandsun says
I am an overpacker which makes it way worse! Have lots of fun on your trip!!!

Have a great trip!! 😀 My grandma told me you said hi, and thanks for the tip about the muffin too…..I’m sure we’ll be back very soon! That tea is so cool, I love the actual sprinkles in it. So funny!

Overnight oats are the perfect breakfast during the summer! I’ve never been much of a morning tea drinker. I always drink a few cups before going to bed though.
Lexi @ A Spoonful of Sunshine says
Sprinkles..in tea? Wow that’s awesome!
And I hate packing all the little gadgets + snacks to…Grrr!
Nikita says
What a cute idea for those teas! I’m switching up my morning overnight oats for some overnight chia pudding this morning. Do you ever have just plain chia pudding?
KathEats says
I haven’t made any basic chia puddings yet. I guess because I really enjoy yogurt!
lynn @ the actor's diet says
no matter how hot it gets, i can never take a cold shower – brrrrr!
Katherina @ Zephyr Runs says
I love Adagio teas – Foxtrot is my favorite!! They have the best fruit teas I’ve had anywhere – raspberry patch and wild strawberry are regular cold brews in my fridge 🙂
Suzanne says
I love tea! I just emailed them and asked for some samples. Lets hope they send me some. 🙂
Have a safe trip!
Stacy @ Say It With Sprinkles says

Birthday cake TEA?! Shut the front door!
Safe travels, Kath. I’m flying today, too!
Sarah @ Sarah's Modern Bites says
LOVE the jewel-toned butterflies.
Yay for the 5 mile run!! Last week I mapped a 4 mile route I had never run before. About 2 miles in where I had to make a right the street was essentially a complete vertical incline! Haha At least that’s how my brain interpreted it at the time. I was like ‘no way am I running up that hill!!!’ It would have killed the rest of the run.
Have a safe trip and good luck packing!
kaila @ healthy helper! says
that is so cool that the tea has sprinkles in it!!! haha I have never seen anything like that before!
Aine @ Something to Chew Over says
Yum those teas look delish!
Safe trip 🙂

Oh wow, that sounds awesome. Yum. Safe flight! See you in San Diego!
Kristen, Sweetly says
I love Adagio. They have awesome deals for samples, so you can just get a little bit to try new teas. I love the blueberry black tea, but Valentine’s is my favorite! Black tea with dried strawberries and chocolate chips. It’s totally worth the mess in the mesh afterward.
Abby @ Abz 'n' Oats says
Yum! Those oats look tasty! I have never tried jelly on my overnight oats. Safe travels!
Maria says
Your overnight oats always look so delicious!
kris (everyday oats) says

Looks great! Are you still shipping out C-Ville cluster? I’d love to order some.
KathEats says
I am not yet selling it individually. We are hoping to do another OpenSky order soon with our two granolas
Danielle says
What is a comparison brand to C-Ville Clusters. They seem like the perfect topping for overnight oats! I can’t seem to find them online. I am new to your blog and I assume it’s only sold where you live. Love your blog by the way! But I would really love to know what I could get to have the same C-Ville Cluster taste. Do you know if I could possible make my own at home? Thank you so much!
KathEats says
Danielle,
You can actually order them from our website, http://greatharvestcville.com/bread-gifts
Jacqui says
I love these teas, they are some of my favorites!
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
Those teas sound delicious, especially the coconut. Portsmouth Tea Company has a sweet almond tea which is probably the most delicious tea I’ve ever had. They sell it in a local restaurant and I loved it so much I ordered it online. It’s super pricey though so it’s only used as a treat 😉 Enjoy your trip!
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
Those are some awesome tea flavours! It’s too bad the birthday tea didn’t taste like actual cake. 😛 I bet the coconut one will be delicious though!
Molly @ RDexposed says
I now have my boy wanting eating either overnight oats, oatmeal, or oat smoothies with me. Another point for team oats.
Jen @familyfoodfitnessandfun says
mmm…your oats look so good! Those teas sound great too…may have to try them 🙂
Hannah says
Can’t wait to hear how the coconut tea is!
Dana S says
Love the blue bowl for your oatmeal. Where can I find one like that? Thanks.
Kath says
It’s a Buddha Bowl and was a former OpenSky special
Susan says
You can find them at Uncommon Goods. I noticed them a loooooong time ago when I was looking through the catalog. They’re still available.
